Family Dollar

If I could give negative stars I would. Every time I go in here its just a dump on session with poor service and blocked aisles. Its generally a mess with a mess walking down the aisles.
Lets start with Shirley the slowest person to ring one up on the North side. Never mind they had 3 people working there and I stood at the register for several minutes while she was off running around somewhere. OMG 10 minutes to get me out the door with less than 10 items?! Well that was what was rung up, actually when I came home and looked at my receipt, after a bickering session with her telling me I am miserable, I realized she didn’t ring me up on several items! Well Shirley I am not miserable anymore! LOL.
Derrick who works there asking if I am racist, actually Derrick as I told him I am native American and then he said you must hate skinny people. Huh? Yep this actually went down folks in this store. Derrick stop standing around talking and actually do your job!!! I guess that isn’t in his job description?
I miss the young lady with the 3 kids that worked there from the South side that was so nice and kept that place hopping. She didn’t let people stand around when not buying items and had the aisles clean. Sadly the last time we spoke she was afraid of the neighborhood and was looking for another job.
We need good businesses with good business practice and not this garbage…

Let me start by saying Family Dollar isn’t somewhere I normally shop,
I usually only find myself here if I see a flier and they have something
I really need/​want for a great price.
Now, I used to work as an Assistant Manager of Operations at Dollar Tree,
and I used to shop there for certain items but I am one of thousands of Dollar Tree Previous Assistant Managers that are boycotting their stores. simply
meaning, we will never give Dollar Tree another dollar of our money!
Enter Family Dollar, now I actually thought this store since it still has/​had
the Grand Opening Banner around it would be in fairly good shape/​condition.
I should have known better, the store was disheveled and cluttered, looked
as though it had been there for a long time, which it hasn’t.
Now, for those of you who may not have noticed Family Dollar and Dollar Tree
usually stock some of the same products. however, Family Dollar always
ups the price by 15 – 20 cents.
Most every Family Dollar Store I have shopped in has looked dull and dark,
a couple of them were downright scary looking inside!
However, the Employees in the store seemed to be having a good time today,
laughing, I guess it’s better than crying!
This particular location of Family Dollar is in a small strip mall, with a KFC
and a very scary JJ Peppers.
Yep. better believe I live in the hood!
So, Family Dollar, same o, same o, good for an emergency/​great sale
Not good for much more.
Was hoping it would be better than this when I entered today.
It wasn’t.
