I never called them in all these years. I just show up & have been sold a huge slab of meat. I guess once I’m standing there, it’s easier to just sell me a brisket than to shoo me away. These days, I doubt anyone will have much trouble buying what they want there. I purchased my St Patrick’s Day brisket there this year and the place sure has changed. The old receiving area has been transformed into a sandwich shop. I guess they finally figured out what JP Graziano’s figured out a few years back. The West Loop is full of hungry folks. The only down side is I feel like their price went up for the brisket. Still a steal compared to your typical grocery store, but the glory days of having my own secret little meat shop seem to be over.

I just called Ex-Cel and tried to ask the going rate for brisket for a non-commercial person like myself. The person who picked up at Ex-Cel stated that they DONOT sell to the public. Maybe Joe W. got lucky, maybe he’s got a friend there, or maybe he’s got a commercial tax i.d. # to use for his purchases. The rest of us, no such luck.
