MANICURE — Irene did a decent job in cleaning. Few hesitancy. Excellent buffing. Cringe on rough nail file and technique. NO SOAKing, instead hands are plastic wrapped and placed inside a warm mitten to prevent additional drying of cuticles (my first). UPDATE: hang nails showed up sooner than later.
PEDICURE — Faye did an excellent stylized buffed cleaning. Natural nail ridges from growth were flattened, that many places don’t do. «Anything that doesn’t belong there will be cut» (LOL). Caution to the 6^th toe. UPDATE: clean up lasted a long time, hereditary odd pinky toe still looked normal.
COFFEE — the ordinary Colombian roast coming from an ordinary coffee maker makes an almost Vietnamese Coffee (the only one in the hood).
EYEBROW WAX — Irene did a nice cleanup that my pencil eyebrows are still there. Yay! Light touch up.
5-​STAR CUSTOMER SERVICE (my first) — I originally called for a 9 am appt due to other schedule for the day. Faye thought it wasn’t early enough (LOL) and suggested Sat at 7:30 am. 7:00 am is possible. Both of us kept in touch via phone. So… don’t hesitate to ask, you may get what you want. ;-).
VENUE — Clean. After 13 years, it is now divey… but, still decent.

I struggled to get an appt because I can only go after work and they are only open until 7 but once I did, I had a good experience. I got the shellac manicure and it was carefully done with attention to detail and looks great. I opted for OPI since others talked about chipping. It’s not a spa like experience but it was clean and in a good location. I would recommend.

If I could give zero stars I would. Got a no chip manicure the other day and it was chipping by day 6. The technician was extremely rude and the job was SO sloppy. Never again!

Horrible service, Horrible no-​chip manicure. My technician kept pursing her lips and shaking her head at my thin nails. My cuticles were not trimmed. She did not bring the nail polish to the base of my nail so it looked very grown out. My nails chipped about 6 days later. Not worth your money or a groupon.

Great 90 minute massage. Deep tissue done right! Look forward to going back for a facial and nails. Such kind people too.

I came here about 2 weeks ago and can not stop thinking about how horrible my massage was. I called in asking if I could have some one strong. I got the foot massage and wanted to leave within the first five minutes. The guy literally was petting me like a cat. When he did try to use pressure he would drill into my bones and not my muscles (very uncomfortable). This IS NOT COMPARABLE to other massages places that offer the same service like fit foot or relax fit! Stay away! Ohh yeah and as soon as my massage was over the guy turned on all the lights and frantically went through his bag to get out a cigarette! The whole experience was horrible, I might as well have just taken that 40 dollars and ripped it up.

Wow, I am surprised this place doesn’t have more amazing reviews. For $ 29, you can get a one hour amazing foot rub which also includes a full body rub. I couldn’t believe the price for the quality of service. Irene was professional and very good with her hands. The place was very clean and they had very quiet rooms in the back to relax. Next time I am in Chicago, I will most certainly be back to see Irene. She is the best!

I went here for years and always loved my nails. The last two times I went Faye the owner who has always done my nails became downright nasty and rude. She would barely utter two words to me yet when other clients came in she held pleasant conversations with them. For the life of me I don’t recall doing anything to her and if I did the adult thing to do would be to bring it to my attention especially since she is close to 60 years old. The last time I called to make an appointment she never answered nor returned my calls which was unlike her. Having seen her look at her caller ID on numerous occasions and ignore telephone calls I decided to call her from another number. She promptly answered and was startled to hear me on the telephone. She gave me some lousy excuse that I found to be trivial and immature for a business owner. After all of these years I can spend my money elsewhere.

I have been coming to Eucalyptus Spa for ten years. The massages, pedicures and facials are the best I have ever had. I highly recommend the mint healing pedicure. The spa facial is phenomenal. My skin is so supple afterwards. Even though I now live in Lincoln Park, I continue to come back to Eucalyptus Spa in River North because the services are wonderful.

Honestly incredible. $ 29 foot/​body rub (1 hour) was best ever, nails were great. Experienced, courteous, accommodation staff. Clean, upscale, great vibes. We were blown away and will be back. A new favorite spot for nails and massage. What a treat for our «best girl» and my woman and I for a birthday celebration. Many places don’t quite «get it» — this place was top notch. We came here after having our reservation at Belle Nail Salon on Lasalle blown off without apology and this made everything better than ok.

Never got to experience the spa, because I called to make an appointment and the receptionist refused to schedule me. When trying to book a time which didn’t work for her she gave up and hung up in my face. Ugh. Rude. They must not need new business. Maybe it’s a good thing as the service probably reflects this attitude. Really wanted to try them as I just moved to the neighborhood.

Faye is the best! I’ve come here for eyebrow waxing, facial, manicure and pedicure. I go several times a year, often with my mom and sisters. All of her services are unbeatable! The environment is very nice, and Faye is absolutely wonderful.

I surprised my wife but had no pedicure date experience before. I didn’t realize that you need open toed shoes. The lady that worked there was nice enough to sell us some little pink flip flops which were cute!
She had a great time and they were very hospitable.

Went in for a $ 31 Pretty City special as well. I signed up for a eucalyptus massage, but it was really high strung and loud. I didn’t relax at all, I guess I picked the wrong service for what I was hoping. I wouldn’t have paid full price for the massage.

Love this place! They are so nice and are very good at their jobs. I have had many a mani/​pedi here, as well as massage with Irene. They usually can fit you right in. Very clean and they have candy when you check out :)

I found Faye to be the best in the city for Forever French nails. Her work is outstanding. In fact, the spa is offering a 20% off for all spa services to all first time clients, and 50% off all waxing to all clients. what a deal!

A friend and I came here for the $ 31 Pretty City specials and both got body scrubs. The regular price for the scrubs is $ 75, so at $ 31 it was a real steal. They were extremely friendly (although maybe a little too friendly, as they let a customer talk loudly/​obnoxiously on her cell phone for her entire manicure while I sat in the waiting area unable to relax) and did a great job. They were apologetic for the loud cell phone conversation, and I can’t really blame the spa for a rude customer.
Warning: be prepared for a little more nudity than you may have expected, and the «disposable bra» is correctly put on by putting your arms through the holes (we both learned the hard way that you are not to tie it behind your back, whoops!).

I love this place! A great spot to get relatively inexpensive manicures, pedicures, and facials. It is not super fancy, but it definitely gets the job done (at about ½ to ¾ of the cost of some other places). And, like another reviewer mentioned, you can get first-​time coupons on the Chicago Beauty website.
Irene does great facials — so great that I now have a monthly appointment with her that I never miss! She massages all these «pressure points» on your face and even massages your neck and arms while the face and eye mask sets. Awesome! It is an hour of pure heaven. You leave feeling super refreshed and healthy.
If you are looking to treat yourself (but don’t have TONS of money to go spend at a high-​end Chicago spa)…try Eucalyptus Spa!

I’ve only had their pedicures, but they seem to be busy with manicures every time I’ve entered the spa. It’s a little storefront place – unassuming, friendly and not crowded. I can only rate the pedicures, and they were fine but not great. The standard eucalyptus leaves they drop into the foot soak are a nice touch, but the pedicure itself is borderline strange. The girls «beat» your feet, not massage. They do some kind of South Asian slapping thing… bizarre. Is this typical of Asian foot massages? Another thing they do is a big no-​no, health dept-​wise: they use small pedi-​razors to slice off callouses instead of sanding them.

Highly recommend Eucalyptus Spa! I have gotten waxing done by Kim here many times, and she does a good job as she is very conscientious. The spa is extremely clean and has a very soothing feel to it. There are coupons that can be used first time clients on the chicago beauty website.
