Essence Photo & Video

My wedding video and pictures make me want to cry — and obviously not in a happy kind of way. First of all, the pictures are not edited whatsoever. The photographer sent me the pictures as is and I’m not even sure I can print them due to copyright issues. The video is worse — the videographer pretty much stayed in one spot and I have no cool edited version that I can share, again, due to copyright issues. I’ve emailed and asked but have not received a response.

Extremely mediocre work… paid close to four grand for video and photography was underwhelmed by everything. Of the two thousand photos they took we «liked» about ten and «loved» none. I’ve seen many other friends get married this past season and found all of their photos better. Save yourself the disappointment. You can’t redo your wedding day!

Kathy (in Schaumburg office) was our rep and matched us with our fantastic photographer!!! We and all our guests LOVED Eric!!! We can not say enough nice things about him!!! He was absolutely awesome… along with Vanessa (we hope that was her name)…they were fantastic!!! We are so excited to see the proofs. We are sure they are going to be fabulous!!! We would recommend him (and Essence) to anyone!!! Eric will always be part of our wedding day story!!! We would give him a gazillion stars!!! :-) A perfect match for us!!!

Amazing photography and easy to work with! We had photography, videography and photo booth through Essence and everything went perfectly. In fact, I’d say they made our Wedding Day — it was hugs all around at the end of the reception. Everyone loved the photos and the video! Our photographers both had great ideas for City locations to shoot, and all through the day they kept everything running smoothly and fun for everyone. The planning process was a breeze as they set up everything on our own online web page from looking at photographer portfolios prior to booking all the way up to the Wedding Day with detailed planners and online chat — very easy and always responsive! Price was reasonable, not ultra-​cheap but a lot less than most independent downtown photographers we looked at, plus we felt good having a small team behind us not just 1 or 2 persons with no office, backup etc. Peace of mind in case something went wrong! They even recommended a DJ who turned out great! We worked with the River North team throughout our process so I’m posting this under the Chicago location. Highly recommended and Chicago savvy!
