We came here for lunch on a Thursday during a conference. There was only one other table of people, which kind of made us nervous, but the food was fantastic! The virgin sangria was yummy and refreshing. The pollo curri was delish and so were all of the salads. The chocolate sponge cake dessert was the bomb. Our waitress was Stefani, and she was great! Highly recommend.

Really awesome tapas in downtown Chicago! Came here with my sister and BIL — they had been there and were pretty big fans so I was curious about it and we went too. I loved this place! The menu was extensive, had tons of tapas options and everything we ordered was delicious: * Garbanzos a La Castellana — a garbanzo bean dip served with roasted peppers * Patatas Bravas — THEBEST * Datiles con Tocino — dates wrapped in bacon, served with roasted red pepper butter sauce — I didn’t eat these, but my family loved them * Queso de Cabra Al Horno — baked goat cheese with tomato sauce, olives and served with garlic bread * Championones Rellenos — mushroom caps filled with mozzarella and spinach served with tomato basil sauce There was more I wanted to try, but we were so full. I will definitely have to come back here to try more things! The service was friendly and fast, too. Great place.

Came here with my girlfriend and we ordered the pan con tomato, jamon and queso; sardines on toast; garlic shrimp; and hot octopus dish. I enjoyed them all. I think the octopus could have been a bit more charred though. The patio outside is a perfect date spot, it’s a perfect space for the summer.

Emilio’s Tappas: hostess was very accommodating for our family. Service was excellent here and or waiter was very pleasant. Pricing is not bad, and it is In a good location. Definitely a different culinary experience your family should try in Chicago.

I always have a fantastic meal here. Both hot and cold dishes are wonderful and great to share. Curry chicken salad, bacon wrapped dates, seafood avocado are some of my favorites. Prices are quite reasonable for the quality. Service is always pleasant and attentive. Great restaurant for a leisurely paced meal to talk with friends.

I visited the restaurant while on a business trip to Chicago. The food was delicious, the dining area tastefully decorated and the service excellent. I would highly recommend them. For the quality of food and the location I thought that the prices were reasonable.

Just really enjoyed our service. Niko was a great addition to your restaurant. He explained everything accordingly and made some great suggestions. We enjoyed all the options and the wine selection was great and it was all from Spain.

Everything was great. I was with five other people for dinner and it was perfect. The ambiance was great, not too dark/light or loud. The server was very knowledgeable about the menu and attentive without hovering too much. Everybody in our party loved the food — one person got the bacon-wrapped dates and the salmon and said it was one of the best meals he’s had in years. My husband and I shared the grilled calamari, grilled octopus, and patatas bravas, and it was all great. The octopus and calamari were both incredibly tender(not an easy feat) and perfectly seasoned. Only complaint is the white sangria was too dry and would have benefited from some added sweetness, and it is a tad expensive, but the quality of the food and service is worth the cost.

Great tapas place. It has two dining rooms and a patio. One side has a flamenco dance, the other is more quiet. I love the tender grilled squid, chicken curry salad, and all their tapas. The sangria is so so.

Horrid. The food was mediocre, and the service was terrible. Drinks took 25 minutes to arrive, food came out randomly and cold. We were missing dishes, charged for other dishes and in the middle of our ‘meal’, we were offered another tables dessert. When we complained to a manager, she indicated that we should have brought it to her attention sooner– which we would have if our waitress ever materialized again. After comping ½ the bill, we found she still charged us over $ 60 in items we never received. After that was fixed, she got an attitude and made a snide comment to one of our party who was on her phone about how we were on Unilocal– great. Well, now I am. We would NEVER go back here. Terrible service and the manager has no interest in customer satisfaction.

Great, friendly staff. Delicious food. We went with a group and had a fun time. Be sure to try the dates wrapped in bacon. Paella tasty with generous portions. Octopus cooked to perfection.

Since my first visit/review, I have been to Emilio’s many more times and always leave satisified. There is such a great selection of delicious dishes for reasonable prices although I usually always get the bacon wrapped dates, ham and chicken croquettes and the pasta with chicken lunch special because they are so tasty! Definitely highly recommended for any occasion.

The Garlic Potato Salad was so amazing we got an order to go! My husband had a burger and stated it was the best flavor, he’d had. I had cheese stuffed mushrooms, which were excellent. Very neat atmosphere. Very fitting of Spanish-European. The waitstaff was very attentive.

My friends and I were greeted and seated immediately as we walked in.(We called ahead of time and made reservations) Music and the tasty sangria’s help with getting into a Spanish feeling of winding down– or if you choose. getting started on a fun weekend! I like the idea of the table being able to share and experience a few tapas. Our server Niko was very impressive with his knowledge of the menu– making suggestions definitely helped! Looking forward to when the patio is open!

I came here last week with my cousin for the only evening at 60 degrees to eat in their outside patio. We had a couple of appetizers including the Jamon serrano, croquettes, calamari, and filete al caballo. All the food was ok. Nothing really impressed me too much since I am Spanish from Spain. I was disappointed that our server did not speak Spanish. However, it was nice that the owner came by and gave us a glass of Cavo because we were the first ones to use their patio. I do prefer other Spanish restaurants in town but this place got my vote that night because of the patio. Ok enough that I will come back for the patio!

3÷12÷16 Had dinner here with my wife and this didn’t disappoint. Four tapas options are plenty for two people. We had Spanish cheeses, bacon wrapped dates, lamb meatballs, and the goat cheese covered in candied pecans. Everything we had was amazing. Don’t expect a quiet dinner experience here. This place is loud with a lot of server activity going on, but this didn’t ruin our dining experience. If you like tapas, I recommend trying this place.

Came here with a large-ish group(6) when friends were visiting and staying in the city. We all enjoy tapas, and it’s fun to share among a large group so you can try lots of different things. Also: they take reservations, which is key for a big group so you don’t need to wait outside for a zillion years. The service was somewhat rushed, but we were never left waiting for anything(bread, water, more drinks), and I’d definitely return if I need a place to go in this area. The food was a good value, and while we didn’t experience anything transcendent, everything was good to very good.

This place screams decadence. The food is outstandingly fresh and the service is perfect. Our server Nico was impressively knowledgable about the impressively extensive wine menu. The real MVP is the«sorpresa de chocolate» aka«chocolate sponge cake». It took everything I had not to order 7 of them. Try it with the white sangria, you won’t be disappointed. I think one of the most impressive things is the prices. They are reasonable for the city. Try this place and enjoy.

Emilio’s is located in Streeterville area– an area I never go to unless I have a doctor’s apt at Northwestern but it was nice to go here for a group dinner on a weeknight. The prices are great, the place is authentic– i felt like I was in Spain, and the space is large enough for a group gathering! We were greeted by two busy hosts, and got seated on a large rectangular table in the middle of the dining room. Our waiter was nice– took our drink orders quickly and our tapas orders were brought in quickly. A wonderful tapa’s menu — the patatas bravas were spicy and perfect. One of our beef dishes was full of strong rosemary flavors. The steak dish was generously plated. They were friendly with bringing out extra bread and refilling our drinks quickly. I did a Unilocal check in and mis read when we could get a free bottle of house wine– so they brought out complimentary tapas dishes for all of us instead. The strive on being FRIENDLY so it’s definitely a warm and welcoming environment. They were happy to split checks even though we requested it at the end. Great food, friendly service, wonderful menu. Was a great place to check out and I wouldn’t mind visiting in the summer and sitting on the patio.

Overall: 3.5 if I could. Good, well sized tapas, but there’s better in the city. The good: Tons of options to choose from, with all sorts of seafood, meat, and veggie items. Good atmosphere and service to match. Prices are reasonable. Lots of seating. The bad: Paella was lacking. Some of the tapas could have been hotter. Took awhile for them to come as well. There’s better food elsewhere. Atmosphere: 8⁄10 Service: 8⁄10 Food: 7.5÷10
