Nice place, I frequent this place quite a bit. Very clean and organized. Staff can use improvement they take a little long to serve you but worth the wait. Great Micheladas. Recommend this spot.

Should of ordered extra steak! The food was warm and the tacos were bare. Not enough product from the cost! I should of went to Subway

So group of friends trying to get together and have some food. My friend suggests that we come here and so we did. Get there and park in their parking lot. Service is nice and attentive. Food is ok/good. I had the Carne tampiqueña and it was good. I also tried the chicken with poblano peppers, good as well. The rice was bad, really bad. I believe they have a full bar, did not order any alcohol though. It is a little pricey, around 20 bucks for a tampiqueña, plenty of other places in this hood with equal or better food and cheaper. Great service, full bar, ok food, pricey

This place has some amazing tacos and huaraches! Price also not bad. I like to get the taco with chicarron and top it off with sweet horchata! Will definitely come back here in for more.

Well… Ive been back 3x now and their Steak Tacos are AWESOME! VERYFLAVORFUL! I think they make their flour tortillas homemade… BUT. I stopped in and ate in on Sunday and their tacos were DEF” storebought… what gives? Their Chicken tacos are VERYGOOD as well as their Chili Rellenos! A decent place to eat in or get some takeout on the way home from work!

I want to like this place, I really do. Sadly, there isomer to not like than like. The service is horrendous, often leaving the dining room unattended to 10 – 15 minutes. The food is inconsistent. On a good day, it’s worth going out for, on a bad day, I’ve had better in a school cafeteria. Most of what I’ve had here could use better seasoning, rice and beans should never be bland and tasteless. You can get a good meal here, but I couldn’t tell you if you would with any certainty.

Hubby and I love this place because it’s close to hope and great price. But, besides the convenience the food does taste like Mom’s homemade cooking! Awesome Chilaquiles and home made tortillas!

I just became a huge fan of El Tarasco, who knew that this place will have such a good food. I’ve tried El Pollo Suizo and by far is one of the best I’ve tried if not the best in Chicago. Also you should try Las Gorditas de Barbacoa, they’re excellent!

It’s reopened and it’s as good as it ever was! The molcajeteada especial de la casa is amazing! Grilled steak, chicken and cactus is delicious. The drinks are big and delicious and the staff is quick and helpful. We were worried it’d be different after reopening but it’s exactly the same and looks even nicer inside! Best taqueria in the area hands down!

Very cute and very close to being a somewhat authentic Mexican restaurant. I would give it four stars at least however the owners should hire more staff. The front of the house should never be left barren since the person also has to work the back of house I. E. Kitchen… Since the few staff members on board were so busy my order arrived and it was nothing like the actual description. I wasn’t going to complain since it would probably take an eternity to rectify the situation. Other than that if your en route to midway airport or just happen to be in the area try the«comida» it’s well prepared & the service from the two people that were on staff was nothing less than superb.

Is this place opened again? It was shutdown because of a fire. I like the sopes de azada and the nachos. That’s it. Everything else that I’ve ordered has always been decent. Nothing out of the ordinary. It’s an okay place if you’re in the neighborhood.

Visited El Tarasco yesterday because it was recommended by friends. However, I was not that impressed with the food or atmosphere. My wife ordered the Carne Asada. The meat itself cooked two different ways. One piece was cooked well. The other piece was under cooked. Either pre-cook their food and warm it up, or something else is going on there. I ordered the breaded steak dinner. The steak was rather thin and just average. The rice and beans were not impressive either. The michilada was okay. A little bit to much clamato. The place was very cold. There was music playing from the restaurant and there was a loud thumping sound from the basement where a party was going on. This made for a very ackward experience. I think the place and food was just average or below. I would not go out of my way to visit this place again.

I absolutely love this place. The sopes are amazing. Their service could be better but the food makes up for it.

It has been a couple of years the last time I ate here. Only reason why I went was due to lunch after a funeral. Was not impressed with the rice or the beans. Chicken Fajitas were ok, yet the guisado was good. Tortillas were cooked in the microwave or at least they seemed like they were. I don’t think I would go back.

I’m a HUGE fan of this place. They have the best and hottest chilaquiles in all of Chicago. I have been a regular here for years but it wasn’t until recently that I started checking in and finally today I review it. The service is always perfect, the waitresses are very attentive and friendly. There is always plenty of seating available regardless of what time you go. Price in the single dollar sign range($). I have tried their guaraches, tacos, carne a la tampiquena, all have been great. Go ahead and check it out for yourself, you can’t go wrong with anything you order.

Agree 100% with Elizabeth they will mess up your carry out order 85% of the time. I have mixed reviews about the food. They seem to make decent good fast food. Tacos, burritos, tortas and sopes. Everything else is crappy and not well served. I have tried breakfast and I ended up barfing my chilakiles. I tried Menudo/Pozole both were lacking effort. I have always said that when a restaurant has a big menu they are not good at making anything. This menu is ridiculous I was surprised I didn’t find pizza and sushi on this menu. We have ordered other dishes and they lack major effort. I ordered a caldo de mariscos and it was so poorly made a seasoned and the seafood was lacking freshness. I was so mad but I keep ordering for delivery. Yes they deliver and their fats food is not great but it’s good. When you want something delivered the list is short. Pizza Chinese Sushi(If your lucky) Being able to add decent Mexican food is a great advantage. I would not waste my time eating in this place. If you are out there is at least 50 other places in the area making way better food. If your drunk, tired, lazy or high… This place can be god sent when the food gets delivered to your doorsteps.
