Dunlays on Clark is a locally owned, neighborhood restaurant located in Chicago’s Lincoln Park on the corner of Clark and Wrightwood. It is a staple of the area for weekend brunch, and Lunch/Dinner during the week. Each time I have come in, it has been consistently fantastic. The service, food, drinks and atmosphere are always on point and I am never let down. For Brunch, I suggested the fried Egg Sandwich and a Bloody Mary. Their bloody mary’s are the best in the city and come with a Miller High life pony, how could you not love that?! For Lunch– The righted salad is the , goat cheese, fresh fruit and veggies, everything comes together so well! For Dinner– I love the Burger, Pork, or half chicken, They used to have the mushroom risotto fritters, not sure if they’re back on the menu, but they are awesome! For Dessert– The skillet chocolate chip cookie with ice cream, I mean, do I need to say more? Heavenly. These are my personal faves, but everything is amaze balls, so definitely give it a try if you’re in the area!

A big fan of Dunlays either for brunch, lunch, or dinner. Good for dine in and pick up. Friendly atmosphere and staff, and consistent quality. Turkey burgers would be my favourite things to get when I lived in the area, and they were always good and fast. Pto-tip: Great place to brunch and people watch the day after Halloween.

Terrific food and dog friendly, too. Walked around the nature areas with daughter granddaughter and the dog then headed over here for a very tasty lunch. We’ll be back!

Awful portion sizes and no understanding of customer service… here split a cookie with the girl you don’t know sitting next to you, to appease the fact we ripped you off on lettuce. Two stars for awesome wine… I will never eat here again for the exorbitant prices, but possibly go to their wine bar.

Delicious food! I ordered a veggie burger. It was made with brown rice, mushrooms and sweet potato. Sautéed kale as a side, simply delicious. The place is clean, comfortable and inviting. Service is superb. They offer a good variety of vegetarian choices. I will definitely come back when I’m in the neighborhood.

Stopped here today for brunch with a friend. We ordered the spinach dip, which came out fast and chips o’plenty. I had the chicken chilaquiles and they were perfect. Ordered a side of hash browns but I thought they were a little off. Can’t quite pinpoint what was so weird about them but they were just okay. The only reason this is getting a 4 star is because of the service. We had to wait a bit until our waitress came by to ask what we wanted to drink. As we were trying to order our spinach dip, she was quick to leave and grab the drinks so we had to wait a little longer to order.

I ordered the Wrightwood salad based on the waiters recommendation for dinner. Overall, the salad was a good combination of tastes but extremely small for an entrée salad. I walked out hungry. The roasted chicken in the salad consisted of scraps, nuckles, and other unappetizing chicken parts that I could not eat. When I looked around to try to catch the waiters attention, I repeatedly saw the waiters as well as the kitchen staff eating as they were handling and preparing customer meals. It was gross. I’m not a health inspector, but I got to believe putting your fingers in your mouth then handling foods in a kitchen is definitely a sanitation and violation of health codes. When I notified the waiter he seemed very passive about almost as it was acceptable behavior, even asked us if we wanted dessert. Really? Too bad. We won’t be back.

I’ve visited Dunlays several times for brunch and dinner and I usually end up wishing I would have chosen one of the other places on Clark St to get food. The service here is solid, but the food is just not that great. I’ve had several things off the menu and haven’t been impressed. My cheeseburger this time around was well done(requested medium rare) and clearly a frozen patty. I’ve also had the Irish breakfast and eggs florentine in the past. Save your time and go to one of the other funky and fun places on this block.

I’ve always had really good experiences here for dates or just popping in for a glass of wine on the patio. Dunlays on Clark is always a good idea.

Started out going to Crosby’s Kitchen on Southport. We loved their breakfast potatoes so much that we were really sad when it came time to move to Lincoln Park. Once we got in our new place we realized Dunlays which is across the street from our apartment. Has the SAME brunch! We come here often on the weekends. I’ve tried just about everything and all of it has been delicious. The potatoes themselves are worth a trip here. Don’t get fruit, always potatoes as your side. Some other menu items worth trying: eggs florentine, monkey bread, chilaquiles and they always have a specialty Benedict which normally is great too. Service is always very good and fast here and normally there’s not a wait. It’s a great place to bring a guest to brunch.

Had a delicious outdoor dining experience! Any place that I can sit outside with my dog is a place I like to go! The server was super friendly and even brought my dog a bowl of water. I NEVER get salads, I mean never. But I was craving one. And it was a great decision! I got the Brussels sprout salad and I still crave it. I also had a perfect mojito. Defintely a go to lunch or dinner date spot!

Great place to brunch! Not too long of a wait on a Sunday, quick and attentive service, great food, hot coffee and the best monkey bread! Bonus: our waiter was kind enough to split our order evenly three ways, including the appetizer that we all shared. What else can you ask for?

Ok so I ate here a long time ago and it was ok, but nothing too impressive. Nut twice in the past month I have eaten here and they have stepped up their food game hard! The lobster deviled eggs, the bbq ginger salmon, Brussel sprout salad… Omg! All of it was soooo good! I will be back soon and if you’re in the area you have to check it out! The staff is always super nice as well!

The Bloody Mary here is excellent. I had a tuna salad and it was delicious and very decent price. Outdoor dining was relaxing and readily available in the afternoon and our waiter was very friendly. The other people in my party enjoyed their meals but I can’t remember what hey had.

Ahh, my go-to brunch spot. Let me tell you, before I moved to the city, I never knew the beauty that was Saturday morning brunch. This place has helped me to open my eyes and see the light. The close proximity from my apartment to this place also lures me in. So on Saturday mornings, I throw on a sundress and some shades and meet the bestie here for a lazy morning outdoor brunch. The food here is great. Of course they have your standard fare of eggs, toast, bacon – all the classic breakfast items. I always love their eggs florentine with ham: hearty but still light at the exact same time. And what is brunch without a mimosa?! They are plentiful on my brunch table(I suggest getting the pitcher). Now the menu item that takes the cake is their Monkey Bread. ORDERIT. It is always so fresh and delicious. One of the best comfort foods. right up there with baked mac and cheese, of course. Anyway, get an order to share with your friend or s/o and you will NOT be sorry. It’s just pure delicious magic in a pan. Now what keeps me going back to this restaurant is not just the food and awesome location(although those are pluses). Their staff is really excellent and also contribute to the awesome experience. I can say with confidence that every member of their staff is genuinely friendly and also very attentive. Although this is how it should be, you don’t really see that too often anymore. It’s nice to come to a place where your drink will get refilled before you even notice it’s running low. Also, their patio is dog friendly, so bring your pooch and your server will even give them a water bowl if you ask! Even though I only come here for brunch, I hear that dinner is nice here too, with the wine bar and all. I’ve also heard great things about their house sangria. I guess I will have to come back soon to check that out!

My friends and I came here after running the Chi town half marathon. After running a race we were all starving. The restaurant was nicely decorated, very bright and cozy. We were seated right away and we ordered our drinks. I ordered a bloody mary that was very good. One bloodie had me feeling good! I ordered the chicken chilaquiles and it was so good. My eggs were perfect, the flavor was on point and the service was amazing. Our waitress was very attentive, they get a 5 star review based on their excellent service.

I had brunch at Dunlays this past Saturday with one of my favorite dining companions and I was completely wowed by the experience. Dunlay’s has a warm inviting feel to the place, lots of wood and intimate tables, just the kind of place you want to settle down on a cold winters day for a yummy brunch! We started out with cocktails, white wine sangria for her and a Ketel One Orange Moscow Mule for me. We both loved our drinks and found them to be really affordable considering the quality, size, and comparable pricing at other nearby places. Their brunch menu is quite large with a lot of varied choices and we both ended up deciding to order lunch. My friend had the burger and asparagus and said they were both awesome. I had the Mini Filet Sandwiches with Creamy Herbed Hash Browns and it was out of this world and easily one of the best meals I’ve ordered at a restaurant in a long time. The filet medallions were perfectly cooked and complemented by the caramelized onions and truffle mayo. The hash browns were also such a good call and while I love french fries I cannot imagine a better companion to these sandwiches than those browns! My amazing experience at Dunlay’s has me eager to return for brunch or to try their lunch or dinner service. This spot is truly a neighborhood gem and should not be overlooked!
