I personally have never been to this florist location, but I received flowers as a gift that were from Guzzardo’s. My boyfriend ordered me flowers from 1−800-flowers and Guzzardo’s was tasked with executing the order. My boyfriend specifically ordered lilies, roses, and gerber daisies(all my favorites) to be in the bouquet. I’ve attached a picture of the bouquet which arrived beautifully in a glass vase and wrapped up in clear plastic wrap. The flowers were in mid to full bloom and look healthy and smell great. I would definitely recommend this place based upon the gift that came out of this floral shop!

WOW! I am so glad my Aunt happens to live nearby this place because I would have never considered them for our wedding flowers, but I couldn’t be more happy that I did. First things first, any reviews older than 3 months old should be ignored because they have a new manager, Joan, who just joined Guzzardos this summer and is a florist dream come true! She is organized, helpful and incredibly creative. I came in with an idea of what I wanted for my wedding(only about a month and a half in advance as well!) but I wasn’t thrilled with my own ideas. Joan spent the time talking to me to get a feel for my personality and the«look» I was going for for my wedding. We ended up coming up with three different types of centerpieces for my wedding and each one was gorgeous but together they were breathtaking! And — she managed to make it happen on my relatively meager budget. She arranged all the details with my coordinator in advance and everything was dropped off on time — including the bouquets which were dropped off early at the hotel for no extra charge! I am so glad I ended up working with her and I hope Guzzardos knows what a gem they have in their new manager!

This review is for their Melrose Park location… placed an order through 1800Flowers. usually I stick to local florists, but there was a specific arrangement that they offered. At first I did not know what florist butvwhen my flowers FINALLY. Arrived there eas a card with the address of 3400 bloomingdale Road Melrose Park a google seach brought up the name and Wind Tech LLC, owned by Bart Guzzardo. Onto to my order, I needed it delivered to my home to take to a friends. I asked 1800 flowers to let the Florist know to deliver after 4 as that is when my husband would be home. I arrived home at 6:30 pm NOFLOWERS. Tracked them online according to the Tracking the florist reported that they left the shop at 3:59 p.m. At 7:30 still no flowers, I tracked them again this time it stated they had been delivered at 6:55 p.m. Obviously they had not. Called 800Flowers reported them lost. At 9:55 p.m. The florist shows up. Husband takes the flowers hands them to me and I can feel heat radiating off them, not just warm but like they have been in a hot car for hours. It was over 100 today, I would think a floral delivery would use AC in their vehicle. Ii turn on the dining room light unwrap the flowers the Yellow roses are turning brown, several daisys are shriveling up and the tropical flowers are completely drooping.

Received a beautiful basket of flowers from here not too long ago and it lasted forever! I’m always telling my honey to not send me flowers as most places send poor quality yet expensive flowers but these were absolutely beautiful! Glad he doesn’t listen to a word I say! I would definitely order from here if I ever had to send flowers myself. The driver was very friendly, wished me a happy b-day as well… two thumbs up!

So after writing my glowing review of this place, I must update after a very disappointing experience. As explained in my previous post, I originally booked this place for my wedding. About 3 weeks prior to my big day, My fiancée and I decided to pay off our flower early. We stopped by only to find out that they had no record of my wedding flower order. I remind you, my wedding was in 3 weeks. Luckily, I had my copy of the contract. We were informed to come in the following weekend to go over the contract and to give them time to find the original order. I had a bad feeling in my gut. Fast forward a week, and my fiancée and I show up at 10:30am on a Saturday morning. The shop was supposed to have been open by that time. When we arrived, it was pitch black and locked. After waiting about 20 minutes, a cab pulls up and a lady with smeared make up and running shorts jumps out. I thought, «Oh hell no this better not be our lady». It was. She let’s us in and then tells us that our order was in Michigan(what the???) and that she had an infection(she really said that) and wanted to reschedule. At this point I am thinking, «Hell to the NAW!»). Not knowing how to react, my fiancée and I said okay, but we felt nervous. We stepped outside, talked it over, and decided we wanted our money back and wanted to cancel everything. We went back inside to the let the lady know and she said that she understood, but couldn’t give us a refund straight from the drawer and that a manager needed to be involved. Fine, whatever. We finally talk to a manager the following day and were able to get her to agree to a refund. When we go to pick up the check, it BOUNCED!!! Like, insufficient funds– bounced. WTF?! Moral of the story, do NOT book this place for any major events. I am giving them 2 stars only because, they do have pretty pre-made arrangements and are capable of providing service for regular, everyday orders. But brides and event planners, BEWARE!

Guzzardos is known in the biz as mostly a wedding and event specific florist, but if viewed in the right light, can still be considered a neighborhood florist nonetheless… heck, they reside in my neighborhood so to me, until I need them for a wedding(my, oh my, are you asking??) or special occasion, I’m only stopping in to pick up the sporadic bundle of white hydrangeas or pretty pink peonies and yet it seems to suit the staff just fine anyway. Love hitting up Big G especially for the awesome sticks! Yep, Guzzardos is my personal decorative stick heaven. I love creating center pieces and dramatic focal points out of just these alone or sticking them haphazardly in my bouquets to give them height and a bit of visual interest. I may sound like a pro talking there, but it’s only because I’ve been thoughtfully schooled by Guzzardo’s friendly, absolutely helpful and completely creative staff. Stylish flowers, bad ass sticks AND positively personal service? Smells like a rose to me.

I stopped by Guzzardo’s on the day before V-Day to buy flowers for my wife. They were friendly and I spent what I thought was a significant amount on a large bouquet — $ 70. They looked nice, and I took care of them immediately(put them in water, clipped the stems), but they started to die within hours. The next day, Valentine’s Day, they were at about 80% and they were down to about 30% within a couple of days. Very, very disappointing.
