Today was the first time I have eaten at this restaurant. The servers were excellent and the food was alright. The manager oh my gosh she was incredibly rude, disrespectful and irate!!! Her attitude as well as customer service was extremely unacceptable! I or my Family have never seen such a display of racism ever!!! She was upset with the fact that we had a question about the food. Who does that!

We went for Restaurant Week, which is a really good deal, but I was underwhelmed. The bread was just okay. It seemed mass-produced, didn’t have much flavor, and was somewhat clumsy to slice. It was also accompanied by what appeared to be and tasted like margarine. If I’m paying $$$$ for dinner, I would hope for real butter. We got the crab cake as an appetizer. It was fine — nothing especially noteworthy. The caesar salad was good but overdressed and a little high on the salt content. The filet was cooked well, but it was crusted in a spice mixture that was also high in salt content. Then add in two bottles of wine, and you’ll leave pretty parched. The château potatoes and green beans were okay, but again nothing especially noteworthy. The desserts were on the larger side and were good. If you get the cheesecake, I’d recommend the butterscotch over the strawberry. We also ordered the butter cake. It was just okay, especially compared to the amazing butter cakes elsewhere(like Nico or Mastro’s). We had an earlier dinner reservation, so the restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived. With fewer patrons, the music was a bit loud. As the restaurant filled, it seemed like a more appropriate volume level. We sat by the window, so we had a nice view of the cityscape nearby. I’m glad to check it off my list of restaurants to try, but I likely won’t be back.

I went here during Chicagos restaurant week and got an amazing deal. Had a tomato bisque, 8 oz filet and lobster mac and cheese all for $ 50! All three items were amazing, specially the lobster mac and cheese. The service was just as amazing, couldn’t have asked for more since we were a table of 12.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago for a good special occasion or to eat at during Chicago Restaurant week! Amazing wine! Amazing food! Service is impeccable! The filet was so tender and perfectly seasoned.

I went here last week for restaurant week for lunch. The $ 22 menu was unbelievably worth it. You get an entrée and app. I got the Cesar salad and the filet. The steak was cook to perfection. The lunch scene is a lot of business people so it tends to be a little dressy. I am planning on returning again soon.

It’s Chicago Restaurant Week!!! Woot, woot! Excellent deal for 44 $ Caesars Salad, 8oz filet mignonette and cheese cake. That’s a hard to beat deal for sure! Service was excellent, music a bit too loud made conversations during dinner a little difficult. The have a great wine selection. My friend TW order a Orin Swift The prisoner it’s an excellent bottle of wine and reasonably inexpensive.

What an experience! The dining room here is spacious, 2 floors, with a gorgeous wine room from floor to floor and chandeliers galore! I was disappointed when I arrived to hear that despite having a reservation, my table would not be ready for another 20 minutes. We sat at the bar and had a delicious cocktail while we waited. When we were seated, the restaurant week menu was delicious. I started with the tomato soup and it was well flavored, thick and creamy perfection. We both had the filet for our entrée, and mine could not have been more tender and well seasoned with salt and pepper. Often you go to steakhouses and the steak may be delicious, but slightly under seasoned… not here! The steak came with mashed potatoes and french beans that were also delicious. To close out the meal we both had cheesecake and they were massive slices of yummy cheesecake that we were sadly too full to have more than a taste. Aside from having to wait to be seated, I was disappointed in the hectic and loud feeling of the restaurant. There were so many waiters and stuff rushing here and there, carrying chairs over customer’s heads and the entire restaurant just felt frantic and on edge. I get it, they were packed for restaurant week, but we couldn’t have a nice dinner conversation because there were constantly people rushing past the crowded tables. Our server was wonderful, but you could tell she was stressed trying to cover too many tables and didn’t have time to truly meet and welcome her guests as she would like. Also, because of the vast size of the restaurant and the lack of privacy or intimacy, I don’t think this makes an ideal date restaurant, but can accommodate large parties, so it’s great for groups. The food was delicious though, so I will make this a stop after the craziness of restaurant week is over. For $ 44 dinner, it was an amazing and delicious deal, check them out, but be prepared to be crowded and on edge.

Del Frisco’s has been on my list of restaurants to go to for a while. Restaurant week has finally kicked off and it was my first stop on Saturday(1÷23÷16). I had made reservations for 2 at 8:30, I know it was prime dinner time for the city and expected a little wait, the additional wait was about 15 – 20 min but that was fine(the restaurant was crazy packed). We were seated and our waiter came over right away asking if we would like a drink, we said we needed a minute to look everything over. A good 15 minutes went by before we had to hound another waiter down. We told him we were ready to place our drink and dinner order. We mentioned we were doing restaurant week and placed our orders; I ordered a glass of Riesling, Caesar salad, Filet Mignon(8OZ) and chocolate mousse for dessert. My friend ordered a glass of Prosecco, mixed green salad, Filet Mignon, and cheesecake ** side note: both steaks were ordered medium**. We also added an order of lobster mac and cheese The drinks came out and we sipped on those and honestly it felt forever until our salads came out. The Caesar was good but had a bit too much dressing for my taste. Once we finished the salad once again it felt like we waited forever for our entrees to come out. Finally our main courses came out and we were asked to cut into the steak to make sure everything was cooked properly. My Friends Filet was a perfect medium, mine was slightly over cooked but by that point it didn’t bother me because I was so hungry. Everything was really good, I very much enjoyed the lobster mac and cheese and the mashed potatoes that came with the entrée. The only food complaint I really have was that everything was a tad bit too salty for my taste. We finished off our meal with additional glasses of wine and dessert that was really good. Would I return to Del Frisco? TBD but the restaurant week tasting $ 44 menu is something I highly recommend.

I like Del Friscos. I come here very often. Nothing bad to say. I love their lobster Mac and Cheese and the crab cakes. I must say they have the best crab cakes I have ever tasted. It’s like ALL crab and no filler. However, I did deduct one star because the day before they did have the place booked for the night(someone rented the spot out/private party). But they did give us 1 complementary appetizer(priced for under $ 18). I guess that made up for the inconvenience… or whatever.

Took my hubby here for his birthday Saturday night. I’ve been before so I knew the food/service and atmosphere is spot on. I can’t get over how beautiful it is in there. Upon arrival, we were told our table wasn’t ready so we waited in the bar standing awkwardly as there were no seats. After awhile, somebody told us there was a bar upstairs we could sit at and order a drink so we went up there. It took awhile to get the bartenders attention(which was weird because it was pretty empty). We had a drink while we waited and then i realized it was 45 minutes and we still hadn’t been called for our reservation. My husband went downstairs to ask the hostess and they said we could be seated then. Just thought it was super strange we had to wait 45 minutes and he had to go back down to ask about the table being ready. How much longer were they going to make us wait? After finally being seated, we dove right into the menu. We ordered: Philly Cheese steak eggrolls(only on the bar menu, but ask for them because they are awesome), filet, sea bass, king crab gnocchi and mushrooms. All of our food was amazing. I feel like the mushrooms at $ 15 were a total rip off and nothing special. The filet and seabass were huge portions so we had leftovers which was great. We loved the food so much! I will definately be back but will probably go with an earlier reservation so I am not eating my dinner at 10:30pm.

For starters this may be one of the most beautiful and elegant restaurants I’ve been to in Chicago. The setting is perfect for an upscale steak out and you feel very rich and fancy dining here. We ordered the Cheesesteak Eggrolls with Sweet Chili & Mustard Sauce for an app. Note these are only on their bar menu but you’re still able to order them. These were really, really good! For my main corse I ordered the 12oz Filet Mignon — Medium Rare and it was cooked to perfection. I read some reviews on here saying their steaks are under seasoned but I personally thought it was perfect. I am knocking off 1 star though for a few things: — Even with reservations we weren’t seated for 45 minutes(isn’t that the point of reservations?) — The sides didn’t do much for me — Sautéed Wild Mushrooms & Pearl Onions — These were just boring mushrooms — King Crab Gnocchi — This was good but had very little crab All-in-all I think Del Frisco’s is a great steakhouse and would come back for a special occasion. I’d go with the exact same steak and try to switch up the appetizers next time.

I have been really excited to try this restaurant and finally got the opportunity last night. First, I used to love to go to movies in this space when it was the Esquire Theater, so I was intrigued about what it would look like. It was lovely inside. Bright. Elegant restrooms. Lively bar. Our bartender and server were both very attentive. Cocktails(especially the VIP) and our bottle of wine were fantastic. The calamari was FANTASTIC-sweet and spicy. Lobster bisque was so so at best. Our steaks were perfectly executed. However, it was a bit odd that immediately after they were placed on our table, the server had us cut them open to see if they were cooked properly. This is a high end steakhouse chain. The steaks should come out properly prepared every time. The corn and crab gnocchi were great. The cheesecake wass simple and delicious. Stars off for the SLOW kitchen. Not sure what was going on, but we waited about 45 min for our appetizer. That was ridiculous. I was very hungry, so this was annoying. We were fine lingering over our meal and not rushing, but the whole dinner was 3 hours. Good thing we did not have show tickets! I think a manager should have come out and apologized. Really, really way too slow for dinner.

They did a great job converting this space into a steakhouse The bar area is well done, too cold on our visit for the patio and did not get to see the second bar upstairs. Dining room is spacious, bright, and seems to accommodate a lot of diners. Lots of staff fluttering around, very friendly too. So the food, had the bone in Rib Eye which … is my go to steak. Coming in at 22 oz it was cooked to perfection, maybe a little over the Medium I requested, but not too far over. Pepper crusted and tasty, I couldn’t get out of my head that it was more expensive than a similar Steak at another Chicago restaurant which I won’t name here … which I can’t definitively say is «better» without doing a side by side comparison … but I can say there is a price difference and it isn’t clearly justified. Wife had the Filet, also her go to steak, perfectly cooked, but left her comparing hers to the aforementioned OTHER Steakhouse in Chicago and she, too, was left enjoying her meal; but not enough to say THIS was definitively«better.» Sides were different(crab gnocchi and a corn dish I ordinarily would not try but found delightful) and although claiming to be sharable were modest in portion when compared to other places. The three stars are by no means a knock, although we really did wait a long time for our appetizer(calamari which was outstanding) with little explanation other than the kitchen was crazy tonight. Then the desert … very modest size, we had cheesecake and it was also outstanding. Would definitely dine here again, particularly when the weather is better to heck out their patio and if your reading tnis and wondering should I check this place out or not; ABSOLUTELY you should. The wine list has very affordable, solid offerings and, again, the dining room has a vary nice ambiance.

I swear I must be jaded with these high end steak houses. We all must agree that in Chicago, the bar is set pretty high, just like with hot dogs and pizza. So on the expensive piece of meat scale, Frisco’s stumbles. The room is beautiful, swank even, calm and professional. The service, from the gauntlet of hostess stands you have to get through to get seated(traffic control) to the wait staff and bussers, the service is crisp and near perfect. I ordered a Manhattan and the question was asked of me, sweet, dry or perfect? I was impressed. Now for the food. We had a party of 16. So you had to cut them a little slack. BUT, for what could have been the down payment on a new car, you don’t cut them much. The calamari was awesome. The shrimp cocktails were first class, but the steaks were a little disappointing. The meat was obviously prime and cooked each as ordered, but all under seasoned. They don’t have a taster in the kitchen. All the other items were good, but nothing special. Salads, potatoes and even desserts. No WOW anywhere. Now what cost them my ever returning? The horrible inedible asparagus sides that were served. Woody and poorly cooked, right from the Jewel. All within walking distance are The Grill, Mortons, Gibsons, Ditkas, and probably all more consistent.

We were very dissatisfied, for such an expensive and upscale restaurant we were disappointed. The service was mediocre at best. We had a problem with our salad. It was taken away but we had to ask for it to be replaced. A $ 42 very petite steak was served ALONE on a gigantic white plate. There was no pretty playing and for that price there should be at least something accompanying it on the plate!

Our meal was a comedy of errors. We arrived shortly after 1 pm to an almost empty restaurant. The place is huge. Multi levels. Looks like it seats 300 easily. There were possibly 8 people there total. My party was 4 of them. Our server was new, and clearly untrained. Like first day new. Each interaction was awkward. He didn’t know if the restaurant had red wine vinaigrette(he brought us oil and balsamic vinegar on the side). He asked us for a temp on a steak sandwich that is composed of shaved beef similar to a Philly, and impossible to cook anything less than well done. An ordered bottle of beer needed to be reordered 15 minutes later. A complimentary order of calamari and 2 crab cakes were sent out because a member of my party is in the hospitality business and was recognized. The calamari was ok. Sauce was straight from a jar but I like the Mae Ploy Sweet Thai Chili sauce so I ate some. Another guy at the table started to eat some but quickly discovered peanuts, which he is allergic to, and spit his out. The crab cake seemed to have a peanut sauce. We were unsure so he didn’t eat them. Then we waited. And waited. Plates were cleared, but appetizers remained. And we waited. Then apps were cleared and we had our table reset with steak knives. And we waited. We were actually laughing by now. At 10 past 2 I flagged down a bus boy and asked for my food to go. And almost immediately it was delivered on a plate. So they transferred it to a to go bag and I left for the airport. No clue how the rest of the meal went for the others at the restaurant. 90 minutes later when I got through security, I was finally ready to enjoy my lunch. 3 hours after I ordered it. But there was no fork or knife. Or napkin. Thankfully the host at Wolfgang Puck hooked me up. The salad was delicious. I ate every single bite. If you go in for lunch I suggest the steak salad with deviled eggs.

When I am paying $ 40 for a steak and I ask for it to be rare, it better come rare. Arrived medium to medium well after waiting too long. Did I mention the overpriced Barolo was corked? Boom! One star. My dad was pissed too because he still had to pay for it! To many steakhouses in the vicinity to come to this chain. Was hesitant to come here and my instincts were correct.

I’ve never been so impressed and unimpressed at the same time. Firstly, I go to grad school around the corner and have always been impressed by the Esquire sign. Of course, being on Oak street, the décor did not disappoint. From the first steps in until the dining room seats, the décor was wonderful. I was just on time to my reservation(a later dinner), so I was kind of surprised when the greeter asked me if I wanted a drink at the bar before(they normally ask when you’re early, right?) I started with a Sazarec — that glass made the drink that much better. Mmm. Pretty impressive. We ordered the $ 89 wagyu steak, lobster mac and cheese, calamari, mushrooms and creamed spinach. The calamari was very asian-fusion like. It was decent but so messy. I was kind of taken back that the staff started serving us(versus asking if we would like to be served the calamari). What was even more surprising, however, was that they were spilling over the table as they were serving. All the marks on the table(spilled food) were from the waiters! .what?! Our steak, and 3 sides also came together(we were sharing the big steak for two people). I was kind of unimpressed by the steak — I would go with Mastro’s equivalent any day. The sides were decent, but again, the waiters intrusively started serving us without asking us and managed to spill again! They made a mess while serving which just took away from the dining experience as a whole. Having eaten at so many steakhouses in the city, I’m glad I came to this one, but I probably won’t be back anytime soon.
