This owner has moved all over the city with his store following him. First located in Rogers Park, then off of Berwyn, now off of Sheridan. The city still hasn’t shut them down?
I ordered a bed from this place when it was in Rogers Park… the delivery guys where 7 hours late? They showed up at 10 pm drunk and on drugs, plus assembled the bed wrong. At least I got the right one plus the dresser I ordered.
Then 2 years later… thinking someone else owed it… but come to find out it was the same guy?
I ordered a futon from this place… it was delivered again very late…2 days later then promised.
It was the wrong bed?
So I called and he claimed the sales person who helped me sold it to me for the wrong price?
So I called the city and wrote a Unilocal review at the time. as soon as i posted he then called me and told me he would give me the correct bed for the price I paid as long as I removed the review. So I removed the review and he fixed the problem. The correct one was delivered.
But what horrible customer service and would never suggest to by anything from this African guy (he’s the owner).

How is it this place has 15 one star reviews and one 3 star and yet it ranks 2 stars? And why is it that 15 reviews get filtered and only two show up as normal? I question the integrity of Unilocal these days when you have a shady business like this, with complaints against them lodged with the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce, and every negative review still gets tossed into the filtered category. Foul!

This place is a scam.
My first concern should have been the sign advertising a sale that said free parking at «Braodway Plazer». If you can’t spell the location of your store, Broadway Plaza, then we have issues.
But, my friend really wanted a red leather sofa they had there. The price was great so we went ahead with it. But, the one thing we verified a dozen times (because we thought the owner/​manager seemed shady) was that we get a NEW sofa, not the floor sample.
So, we picked up our new sofa, all nicely shrink wrapped, got it home and unwrapped it. Right away we saw the tag with the handwritten price on it (as in, this was the one in the store), and, also there was a tiny flaw in the store sample that was a little white flake on the left arm. Guess what, it was the same flaw but they tried to hide it with red shoe polish. How stupid do they think we are? When we tried to call them about this, they were always «busy» with a customer.
Of course, because the price was good and it would be a nightmare to take the sofa back, we’re keeping it, but I will never ever go back into that place no matter how good the prices. I don’t appreciate being lied to and I hope they go out of business soon. It’s a scam run by a shady con-​man. Shame on them. Edgewater deserves better businesses than this.
At the very least, learn how to read and spell your store’s location. Sheesh.
On a final note, my friend called them and got Joe on the phone who was all apologies and promised to send a very special gift to make up for the problems. 3 weeks later and nothing. And none of us are surprised. Just one more lie.

Just horrible! I wish I would have looked them up on Unilocal first! Similar to the other reviewers we had big issues with the delivery… they came at 11pm on a Friday night (4 hours late, 3 numbers and 4 calls later). After all that I still gave them the benefit of the doubt because it was the Friday after the blizzard… turns out they left two of our dinning room chairs in their showroom. We thought w/​e you can just deliver them sometime this week… This is where we began to get pissed off… not only do they not even bother setting a date of when they would deliver like they said but they sales man has the audacity to bitch at me when I call him. He was a complete jackass! More or less blamed me… Anyway he was supposed to deliver at 6pm that Friday… 930 rolled around and I finally decided to call. He was clearly sitting at home playing with his kids and forgot! He finally came by sat at 11pm. Oh and the bottom drawer on the dresser I got is already broken; it’s been 3 weeks…

Ordered a bed. I set up a delivery day and they told me it would show up between 10am and 5pm. I took the day off work and I had my mattress delivered the same day that came at noon. The delivery guys didn’t show up until 7PM!!! This is after I called the store over and over and over again to no answer. I ended up calling the other location who was actually picking up the phone and at one point they asked that I stop contacting them because I didn’t order from their store location and couldn’t help me.
So, the bed ends up coming, like I said, at 7PM and 2 young men assemble it for me. It ends up it’s the wrong bed but a better one than I ordered. I figure, thus far this place blows so I guess that deserves a bed upgrade :)
One of the delivery men then gives me some guilt story about needing a tip and since they put the bed together and cleaned up after themselves I give him the $ 3 that I had in cash on me.
Now, here’s the fun part: I take a look at the bed after they’ve assembled it. Ends up, they didn’t bring enough screws to place the platform rails in, not a big deal, it still works.
Next day: I had roaches. I can only assume they came from the boxes that the bed came in because that’s where I saw them all and hadn’t seen any prior or since the bed came to me.
They now serve food directly in the store that sold me a cockroach infested bed frame. Good luck with all that.

DCI Furniture store is located right off the Berwyn stop and is convenient if you happen to be in the neighborhood. What is very confusing about it is that they also have a coffee bar inside the furniture store! There are signs for ice cream and appliances to make juices and coffee, but I was not tempted by anything I saw to grab anything. They did have lots of nice dark wood and leather furniture throughout the store, but it was a bit out of my price range!
