This is by far the absolute worst bus ever. It is never on time/doesn’t even show up. I’ve had to take cabs to/from work on multiple occasions because the bus just didn’t show up. I’ve waited 45 min for the bus the show up. I’m going to have to lengthen my commute and take the Halsted bus instead, but I can’t keep waiting around for this bus.

The #132 is NEVER on time northbound out of Union/Ogilvie. It only runs every 15 minutes as it is, compared to every other express running every 5m or less, and it’s a minimum of 10 minutes late. EVERY. DAY. I’m trying to find an alternate route up this way but the pickings are slim so I might be stuck.

First of all — let me preface this with the fact that I think its totally ridiculous and stupid to write a Unilocal review for a CTA bus route. Ooooo let’s all get on Unilocal and bitch about how much the CTA sucks. That being said —- I am even more frustrated by the things currently written about this bus — so here goes the 1 and only time I will bother to write about the CTA on Unilocal: The #132 is used by PLENTY of people on a daily basis. I am usually one of them. There is a nice group of regular riders, and we are all fairly friendly with each other when we see a familiar face. Have I ever seen this bus at standing-room-only capacity? No. Do I think it’s great to actually ride a bus without some strangers butt in my face and bag smacking into my knee? YES. This bus is by FAR the easiest way to get from Lincoln Park to the Clybourn Metra. The #73 Armitage bus pretty much causes me to lose my sanity/general will to live. The #132 is smooth sailing. The only issue with this bus is that occasionally it will get a driver who has no idea what they are doing and will run the route 10+ minutes early. This route most likely does have too much time baked into it; however, that means the stupid CTA either needs to a) update the scheduled times or b) the clueless drivers need to be trained to wait at the stops so that they stay on schedule. It’s not rocket science. Just to be clear — I’d say the issue of the bus running absurdly early happens maybe 2 to 3 times per month. So it’s not a rampant problem, just an occasional one. But enough to dock 1-star off the rating. In short — people do use this route every day. It’s very convenient and(almost) hassle free(especially compared to MANY other bus routes).
