What an adorable little dog run! I only wish my dog wasn’t so terrified of the trains going by overhead. She almost escaped three times today! I’d like to take her back because it’s so conveniently located, but I’m sure she’ll still hate the trains. If your dog doesn’t mind loud noises, this is a nice little park for some outdoor fun.

New play equipment! Great small neighborhood park. Some of the best play equipment we’ve seen. Quality over quantity. Giant multi-person swing, fun squishy hills, big slide, spin chairs, mini-slide, safe merry-go-round and a super cool climber.

It’s not the most pleasant dog park, being so small and below the el tracks, but it’s ok in a pinch. I rarely see the same people/dogs twice, though. The park itself is cute– certainly better than nothing– but I could do without the fakey-fake little kid area. It’s like nanny central during the week at lunchtime and a lot of the little dears are terrified of dogs. Kind of annoying. It’s pretty in the summer with all of the flowers but beware at night, when homeless people lurk there. It can be startling to take your dog out for a final constitution and not realize there is someone sitting in the dark, watching you…

This review is primarily for the«dog park» located at the back portion of Coliseum Park. I do, however, love the pillars at the corner entrance here(see photos). The dog park is albeit a small one(dog run) but it does have water fountains and poop bags which some of the neighboring dog parks/runs lack. From the side entrance(on 14th) it has a double-gate entrance. However from the entrance facing Wabash there is only one gate for entry. This feeds directly in to the playground area for the little snacks, I mean, kids. The dog run is right underneath the CTA tracks, so if your pups are sensitive to noise, it might not be fun for them. What might bother humans, however, is where they placed the benches… right beneath the tracks… where things can drip on you when you are sitting down. REALLY, genius?

It’s a tiny little park, but comes complete with walking paths, a cute little playground for toddlers, a dog run, and cool trees. True to its name there are columns and pillars surrounding this park on 14th and Wabash. It’s a dog friendly area, so you can walk your pooch around the park if you have the city and DFA tags. There is a dog run that is fenced in with chain link and has a few rocks for climbing and doggie bags. It’s right under the eL tracks though, so my puppy wasn’t a fan, but she enjoyed wandering around the rest of the park. Street parking is pretty easy, there’s free 2 hour parking right out front on Wabash.
