Cheap & dirty. A good dive. Don’t expect to get a fancy cocktail or a glass of wine, obviously… I usually just get an easy beer off the tap. It gets crowded on weekends, but you can usually find somewhere to sit.

Does this bar seriously have pews as seats? Anyways, I had a great time coming here one night. The beer selections are right in my alley and the servers were very friendly. I had no idea this place had a stage in the back with free live music provided. I was blown away with how great this bar is structured. Great drink prices paired with great company and great music = a good time at Cole’s.

As the Duke of Cole’s, I proclaim this the greatest tavern in all the land. Further, I proclaim Cole the greatest barkeep.

I absolutely love Cole’s! The bartenders are sooo nice, even the door guy is nice! The drinks are great, affordable. They have pool tables, lots of chairs, a few booths, and in the back, they do open mic comedy on Wednesday nights which is soooo good! My only complaint is that they should put more tables in the back or more chairs. I go here at least every other week for comedy. The best part is that the comedy hosts are usually HILARIOUS women!

Literally took drinks out of our hands at 1:45 and shoved everyone out of the bar. Supposed to close at 2. Drink menu lacking. Full of the typical stuff. Not a very fun atmosphere. Lacking. Used to be way better.

Coles is authentic hipster. It’s so hipster the patrons here actually look like they’re avant garde in a fell-out-of-bed way, rather than a trying-so-hard way. It’s pretty divey and dark, but they have a good beer selection. The room in back can get loud with live music, and people actually dance if the mood is right. I sang here once and had a fun time. The sound system is decent and most people pay attention, so that’s cool.

Cole’s has a special place in my heart. I probably come here more than any other bar in the city. This is my girlfriend and I’s go to bar, well I should say it is hers and I am always just tagging along. They recently revamped the back area but I didn’t get a chance to check it out. I am digging the church benches they now have. Good drink selection and good prices. You will always have a good time if you come here. The bar staff are some of the nicest people I have ever met. Go to Cole’s, get drunk and tip your bartender!

A real dive bar. No entrance fee, cheap drinks, and live music.

I used to see shows here all the time. I still stop by every couple of months and it’s always pleasant. Great beers on tap, friendly bartenders who care enough to know your face after awhile, free shows with a great back room. I wish Cole’s had more seating available, but that’s never stopping this place from getting packed on a weekend. I’m pretty sure they finally let go of the SS officer power-tripping at the front door, which is always a plus.

The bartenders are really friendly. I’m happy the night ended here with one of my friends. It was my first time here and my friend’s first time back in awhile. Will definitely come back another night.

Such great vibes here! So friendly, cheap beer, great music! It’s a place where you can actually talk and enjoy the music. Owner is such a nice and humble guy as well. Definitely a must if you are in the Logan Square area.

It’s kind of a divey bar in my neighborhood that I can walk to. I don’t usually go when all the hipsters are there. I go early in the evening when you can get a seat and relax and talk and drink a cold one. They have a room in the back for comedy night or music shows. I don’t come here often and only when there are few people around. I don’t think they have any televisions or sports or any of that crap. Good beer on tap and friendly bartenders.

This is a great spot in the city. It’s a pretty low key no frills type place to hang out with friends. Decent beers are usually on tap and, bartenders are pretty cool. It has a nice Chicago vibe to it. I’d go here whenever I’m in the area.

Cole’s is a great example of a cool, low key bar. Friendly, comfortable, cheap, and really cool bands play free shows here on the weekends. I’ve come here many times for one of the best comedy open mics in the city in Wednesday nights and for the Americana happy hour on Thursdays. They recently did some renovations, adding booths in the main room and some walls near the bathrooms. Cleans the place up a bit without compromising the divey identity.

As dive-y as it gets. PBRs are $ 2, wells are $ 4. There are portraits of Abe Lincoln on every wall. It’s a good time. Enjoy

Came to this incredible hellhole after having dinner at Revolution across the street, and it was astonishing for a whole lot of bad reasons. From the 22-year-old kids who seem to have made a conscious choice to dress like a punker gang from an ‘80s coming of age comedy, to the incredible stench that combines spilled beer, urine, body odor and probably a dead civilization of rats decaying in the walls, to the morbidly obese door guy wearing sweatpants and a shirt with more holes than fabric who looked like someone had given human form to the statement, «I give up,» this place is a nightmare. Avoid this place unless you have a whole lot to prove to the world and hanging out in a smelly hovel seems like the best way to prove it. Congratulations to the staff at Cole’s, it takes a lot of work to make passing out in your own vomit in an alley sound like a more hygienic way to spend your evening.

This royalty amongst dive bars has managed to sneak in a number of craft brews elevating it from dirty hole-in-the-wall to cultivated gathering place. I’m not a real or pretend hipster, but I do like the patrons here as well as the beer. Unlike most bars in Chicago(although LIKE most bars in Logan Square), patrons are more likely to discuss art, music, or politics rather than sports. Service is good and the price is right; I’ll be back.

Great bar with a stage in the back for live bands to play. Great drinks, awesome staff and in a fun neighborhood. The staff is friendly and the owner, Coleman is the best! I’ll be back for sure!

You could say Cole’s is great because you can get beer under $ 4 here. You could say Cole’s is great because of its lack of frills, cleanliness and damns given. However, it’s overrun by a crowd of 23 year-olds who just moved to Chicago and have to be(don’t want to use the H-word) original/poor/90s/vintage/tatted/skinny/high/unique/kitschy/ironic all while decrying the sheeple of other bars. At Cole’s, you’re surrounded by kids grasping to be a part of a scene that already past. Williamsburg in Chicago. Takes too long to get a drink here. Don’t expect to sit down here, either. I laugh at you if you actually intend on going here and you’re over the age of 22. I guffaw at you if you arrive here by bicycle.

Old Fashioneds. Strangely, this place rawks it pretty well for the O.F. Coles’ is a bar that’s definitely staple Logan Square, keep it real here while you bask in the cool musical vibe, cheap drank, and cool as shit bartenders. Leave your dressy/douchey jeans at home. Bring your liver and your music ego.
