had a very bad experience here with my two children. We came in for a trial class before we signed up and there were three instructors and five kids. I was told the classes would be small and there’d always be more than one instructor, being that my children were 4&5. After we signed the contract and they got our down payment, I dropped my children at the first class which was packed with about 25 kids running amok and one instructor who had no control whatsoever over the class. Needless to say, my kids lost interest, even though after the third or fourth class the kids were being pushed to test for the next level so we could shell out more money for that. I foolishly signed a one year contract since my kids loved the small trial class. The owner would not let me out of the contract even though he fraudulently stated the class size was small. Finally, my husband who works in law sent him a letter and we were able to get out of our contract after we lost a good bit of money. DON’T SENDYOURKIDSHERE!

I will always have fond memories of Chung’s, as it is the place that started my son’s path in taekwondo. The pluses of this school is that it is a family atmosphere, and the owners truly care about their students. If your child is serious in TKD, they will give them attention and recognition as far as letting the student know they notice their dedication. The school is also well established and so they have students who have been there for many years. The minuses, in my opinion, are that there are a lot of students there who are not really interested in being there. They lack discipline and respect, and often times that leads to major class disruptions and slow downs. Sometimes it leads to unsafe moments. Also, there are a lot of students who seem to be promoted who do not know the requirements for the promotion. What that leads to is high belts who can’t execute forms or kicks that they should know, who do not have the discipline, self control, or respect that you would expect to see from a higher level belt. The school does have an after school program, which is helpful for parents who need a place to send their children after school. They also offer summer camp, so the children can be with their buddies from taekwondo throughout the summer. The school is flexible with when the children attend class and which class they attend. The instructors have a friendly relationship with the kids. Overall, if you are planning on having a child(or an adult) in taekwondo as a recreational activity or as a way to get them out of the house and exercise, then this school is fine. You will get exercise and make friends. The staff are all good people. UPDATE: I just noticed that Chung’s put the Kukkiwon logo on their website. That is false advertising, as they do NOT make it practice to certify their black belts. I would be very angry if I was expecting to come out of these classes with certification only to find out that I wasn’t. I was able to obtain certification for my son because I INSISTED he give it to him. Even then he obliged under much protest. Almost none of his black belts are certified by Kukkiwon standards and requirements. Do not expect to leave this school with anything but an empty black belt that you paid a great deal to line Chung’s pocket with.

I have been sending my son for summer camp here for the past 2 years and am very pleased. You can drop your child off as early as 7:30 am and pick up by 5 pm and not have to pay extra for the early drop off or late pick up. They take them to the park, practice Tae Kwon do, and play games. The price is very reasonable and the staff is very friendly and the kids love them. Would recommend.
