Meh, high prices for second-rate chocolate. It cost $ 5 for something like 10 chocolate-covered almonds. I’m sad that there must not be other options in the neighborhood for people to actually like this place. I admit that I DO like the Kaffee Schokolade(like I can spell that off the top of my head!) which is just the right mix of coffee and hot chocolate. And the tomato bisque soup is pretty yummy. Again though, too expensive, and those kids that work there are no doubt only earning minimum wage, which explains why they’re not eager to hustle out your ice cream sundae.

My date and I decided to skip dessert at dinner and walk down to what we thought would be a mouth watering experience at Chicago Chocolate Café. The atmosphere was really cute– especially the huge chocolate fountains, but the service was the slowest EVER. They have different counters around the store for ice cream, chocolates, etc, and just one person working all three! Now, that’s just silly. My date had some stale(but still good) chocolate cake. I was disappointed that they didn’t have any chocolate chip cookies without nuts(maybe they ran out?), but I chomped down on the last remains of their stash of chocolate covered raisins. We left pretty happy, but I won’t be making a special trip here any time soon.

Love the Chicago Chocolate Café! Not only is the chocolate divine but the coffee and food are great! I usually stop at this fun casual spot during the day and in the nice weather you can sit outside nibble, and people watch. Last summer I ordered their fruit plate that was very inexpensive(under $ 5 I believe) and could not finish it. You have to try the vanilla butter creams and the dark chocolate malt balls. Hubby loves the chocolate covered Oreos. This would be a fantastic after dinner date place!

A monkey could sell chocolate, fudge, ice cream and coffee… maybe they should hire one. The service at this place sucks! I live nearby and have literally walked out at least 3 times because no one was behind the chocolate or coffee counter. Other times I have had them screw up my coffee order after waiting 15 minutes to get it. There are usually a few people there with me looking around aimlessly like«whats up with this place?» Its only redeeeming quality is that the chocolate is good, but big deal, most chocolate is. Now I just walk in, grab a bunch of samples and get out of there so I am not wasting the next 30 minutes of my life.

I was delighted by all the free samples they were handing to me and I really liked the peanut butter chocolate malted milk balls. BUT I’ve tried many of the chocolates from there and I really think they’re bad! It’s all so waxy! There’s hardly any chocolate flavor! Plus, I purchased a variety and, upon looking at them when I got home, several had white-ish tints to the outside which means that the chocolate is too old.(you know, when you have old chocolate chips in your house and they’re kinda chalky white looking cause they’ve been there a year?) WHAT? What kind of chocolate store would have old chocolates? Literally spit the lemon cream out when I started to eat it. It was that gross. I live for chocolate and I’m not all that picky either and this was terrible.

ok. I think the idea and décor are totally cute. I love it. But, I have to say that the chocolate is just mediocre. It was kind of waxy to me! I might come back for the fondue.

I have found the legal, edible form of crack. Yes, really I did. It’s in the form of a chocolate covered rice krispy treat at Chicago Chocolate Café. OHMYGOD. Will I be back, HELLYEAH! Even if I have to army crawl in the middle of a Chicago snow/sleet/ice/wind storm to get this addictive treat. Oh, they also have a wide variety of assorted chocolates such as chocolate covered toffee, cherries, strawberries, and such. I’m sure they’re as tasty as my new crack addiction too, but I wouldn’t know for sure as I’m staying true to my new found habit. If you’re looking for a cozy place to warm up, be sure to sit near the fireplace and share some warm chocolate fondue with a friend. This place is the cure for the holiday/winter blahs!

I’ve turned so many people on to this wonderful gem! You’d think they’d reward me with a gift certificate or something. Oh well, luckily I work around the corner and can pick up my double dipped peanuts anytime I feel the need.

How can you go wrong with chocolate? We stopped by here for dessert and were not disappointed. I recommend trying the toffee.

Chicago Chocolate Café is absolutely adorable! We stopped in here after dinner on Randolph Street last night for a taste of something sweet. I was very excited to see that had my favorite chocolate covered cherries. After buying some of those we headed over to the cake section where my boyfriend decided on a piece of carrot cake. It was the best carrot cake I’ve tasted in a long time! I also noticed a few people in the café enjoying fondue(my favorite) so I’ll have to go back for that. I don’t think I’ll ever have dinner on Randolph Street again without stopping at the Chicago Chocolate Café!

I love this place… it’s unique and amazing. Whatever sweet you’re craving will be found here. You can buy candy by the piece for something light or go for the fully huge pieces of cheesecake, brownies, whatever. It’s a great dessert stop after dining on Randolph.

Mmmmm, chocolate. Even on a Chicago summer day, a hot chocolate from the Chicago Chocolate Company is undeniably delicious! I love the combo of chocolate and mint – so the Milk Chocolate Lincoln Mint is right up my alley. The prices are right($ 1.99 for small drink – which, by the way, is PLENTY), and although the service isn’t the most efficient you can munch on chocolate covered espresso beans while you wait. The staff is delightful and more than happy to explain the drinks and even show you how they’re made. The hot chocolate is the best I’ve ever had – they don’t mess around with fake-o powdered cocoa, all the drinks are made with melted liquid chocolate – and trust me, the difference is duley noted. I’ll definitely be back around the holidays – I think a box of Chicago fudge would make a lovely gift.

I can’t help, but stop for chocolate when I’m in this area because this café smells so good. I did have a sandwich here once, which was ok, but the dessert is the real attraction. I agree with AS V that the dark chocoalte is very good.

I come here for the Ruby Reds, dried cherries covered in white chocolate dyed red. The owners are great and the service is outstanding. Oh yeah, the fondue is great. Make sure the chocolate consistency is up to your liking. We threw a party on the top floor and it fit around 36 people. The finger foods were great. It was very affordable per hour.

I am in search of the best brownie sundae and so far, Chocolate Café’s DIY sundae has made it into my top three. My favorite combination is: a thick walnut brownie, heated and served with a generous scoop of cookie dough ice cream, whipped cream and hot fudge!

Great place to go for dessert! You can sample some of the chocolates while you wait for your dessert. I recommend the Fruit Plate that is drizzled with chocolate. You get a HUGE plate of fresh fruit… delicious!!!

Great place for lunch. Fresh salads that are huge. Good soup and sandwiches too. But damn, try the dark chocolate — peanutbutter pieces, they’re fantastic. Also if you just need a quick coffee, way better than going to either of the Starbucks that are nearby.

Nice variety of eats in addition to chocolates, including dark chocolate(the best kind, and best for you!).

This is a great place to go for dessert. Its around a lot of restaurants so it makes a great dessert stop. There’s definitely lots to choose from and I would really reccommend the chocolate turtles!

They’ve got light meals here like sandwiches and salads but what you really come here for are the desserts! They’ve got Chicago themed stuff like Midway Monster and South Side Sundae. its super good and its in the Randolph street restaurant district so you can go out to eat somewhere else and come here for dessert afterwards! Its cheap too!
