Checkers

This place sucks. Terrible service, bad attitudes from employees, terrible tasting food and long waits. Their corporate office needs to do some mystery shops on this location to see firsthand the service nitemare at this location.

Although hood is an understatement for this location but if you want a great fish sandwich that actually has some flavor (sorry Wendy your flavor sucks) then this is the place for you! That deep sea double fish sandwich comes with cheese etc. if you get the meal I always opt for the Cajun fries because they are delicious, move out the way McDonald’s this place got you beat!!! They did get 5 starts just because of the customer service that they offer. Every time I have went there, they are just unprofessional but nice… Anyway I keep coming back so they must be doing something right.

They have horrible customer service. From the managers on down. Too ghetto. Ruined my experience

Yay a new checkers! Stars for my food being hot. Took off a star for explicitly stating I wanted two plain hot dogs and I got two with ketchup and mustard. Another star off for the manager arguing with a customer about her personal opinion. The last star I took off is for them having weak sodas at the fill station, if I want strawberry pop it needs to taste sugary and full of potential diabetes! With some work this location could be quite nice and there’s plenty of room to eat in although it’s not exactly inviting.

My partner are I love Checkers, and this is a 5 star review primarily because 1) this is, for once, an actual Indoor location, complete with tables and chairs, booths, and plenty of space, 2) it’s at a very convienient and easy to get to location, and 3) out of the few times I’ve been here, I just haven’t had any negative experiences in terms of food or service. The cashiers were actually nice and attentive. I’d fully endorse this one (and even the outdoor south suburban Dixmoor location) over the other one in the city (55^th).

I would have loved to give this checkers a 5 star… I mean I was so excited to get me a checkers burger and get back that taste of a fresh fast food burger. Well I took a couple of bites and put the burger back in the box. While sitting there eating my food I heard several people say they wouldn’t come back for the burger but they would come back for the fully loaded potatoes… they were good but a bit to salty for my taste, but I have to say they came out pipping hot and oozing with cheese and bacon my friend truly appreciated that and said she would most definetely come back for them. Since I wasn’t feeling the burger I also got a 5 pc medium buffalo wings and they were great, I mean if you like a little kick but not to spicy these wings were delicious. I do wish they gave you one complimentary ranch or blue cheese but hey that’s just me. I mean don’t get me wrong they are only .39 cent a cup. My friend also got the apple pie and she said it was really good she just wished she had ordered closer to us leaving because she could tell it tasted better hot. The staff was great I mean they even gave me a menu because I couldn’t really see until I stepped up to the register. I mean all and all I would go back I just wouldn’t go back for the burger.

So, I physically walked into Checkers. It’s a Monday at lunchtime so I expected a crowd. I got just what I expected. Not only was traffic backed up along 87^th street in both directions, but on northbound Stony as well. Other than the Checkers on Garfield, I haven’t patronized them in years. While fully staffed, I felt rushed. I wasn’t given enough time to review the menu before the cashiers were pressing me to for my order. The order board inside has small writing and I didn’t find any of the combinations familiar. I felt rushed and placed my order reluctantly. Although I counted 13 workers preparing and bagging orders placed, I had to wait 17 minutes for my simple burger order with a 5 piece wing on the side. The burger wasn’t like the past however it did come close. The wings (garlic-​parmesan) were exceptional but greasy. And not just bag soaking greasy, I’m talking, I can recycle the excess and fry a new batch greasy.
