I take back my last review. My braids started falling out two days later and I come back to get my hair fixed not only does she(Celine the owner) push me to the end of the day she got me sitting her waiting and when I told her I have to work she has the worst fucking attitude waves her hand at me. This bitch don’t ever have to worry about seeing my face in this messy ass shop again. After she fix my braids I’m out and I’m usually a nice tipper but screw that. Her tip is fix your fucking attitude when dealing with the public!

I was looking for a protective style for the winter so I decided on Ghana braids. I arrived at 9 aim and was waiting for about 7 minutes for someone to arrive. After someone arrived I was promptly seated and asked about the specifics of what I wanted(length, thickness, pattern) etc. Dina braided my hair, quickly and neatly and I LOVED the results. I kept getting compliments. I will be sure to return.

I am not one to get my hair braided often and am very picky about my hair and who does it. I called Celina and she was able to take me that same day. She was very helpful in helping me decide what type of braids I should get and picked a gorgeous color. Best of all, Celina braids at lightning speed. I also like that she always checked in with me to make sure I was doing ok or to see if I needed a break. Celina was very good at accommodating her clients needs and answering all questions. I got a head of micros and they turned out Fabolous!!! I am in love with my braids and will definitely be back when it’s time to get them redone. I have found my new hair braiding home!!!

I’ve been there once to get my hair done & Celina actually did my hair. I called first & explained what I would like done & asked for a price, which was $ 35. I got there & it’s very messy & sloppy in the work area, which does not appeal to me. She spent the majority of the time on her cell phone, not paying attention to the fact that she was snatching most of my hair out b/c obviously no one ever told her you should begin to untangle at the ends, not the root. I had to hear her complain about how much hair I have & she will need to charge me more next time(OHREALLYNOW)! I will say she did the job in a decent amount of time & it looked nice. The only problem I had was her NOT being able to braid the back & avoid pulling, EVERY, SINGLE, TINYSTRAND of hair, which led to me having headaches & not sleeping comfortably. I would try to loosen it, which was even more irritating. That, more than anything else, is what gives me pause about returning. I’m not gonna pay you to leave my head full of sore bumps, causing me to find a way to rectify a service I paid you to do.

Okay. let me preface this by saying before Monday, I was a braid virgin. On top of that, I’m extremely tender headed! Like– has to take a headache powder before detangling. *shrugs* The first part of this tale is NOT about Celina Hair Braiding; I’m just setting up the WHY I ended up in Celina Hair Braiding this FRIDAY afternoon and someone else had already braided my hair on MONDAY. All summer, I told The Mister that I was going to work up the nerve to get braids. Never did. FF to last Sunday and I bit the bullet/took the plunge/yadda, yadda. I looked on Craigslist(mistake one.) and found someone who was available the next morning. Her ad was entertaining and concise. I called her and we set up a time. She was to arrive at my location(for a few dollars more. no problem) at 10:30 a.m. I was up, prepping my studio for us and get a text message from Blue(1st braider) at 10 asking if we could move the appointment to noon. I agreed(2nd mistake) and waited for her arrival. She finally arrived at 12:30 and began the braiding process. Or so I thought… uh. while braiding, she told me that her boyfriend was going to bring her some lunch. I(wrongly) assumed she meant in a few hours. Nope. he arrived at 1p with her chicken and she promptly sat down to eat. *blank stare* We finally get back to braiding; FF to 6p and she’s finally braiding the front, except I noticed that she braided going towards the back, so I asked her would the braids fall to the sides. She assured me that they would. WRONG. SHEPRETTYMUCHANCHORED the first ¼ inch of the braid. I was in excruciating pain by the time she was done and just wanted to eat supper and go to bed. I woke up the next morning and the issue of the anchored braids was staring me right in the face AND there was a braid at my temple that was too tight, causing little red bumps to appear. I took pictures of the hair issues and texted them to Blue. Her response to the issue was less than favorable and after speaking with her on the phone, the situation escalated to super ghetto. This is how I ended up at Celina Hair Braiding: I knew that I couldn’t walk around looking like a cross between Milli Vanilli & Shenehneh any longer, so I began the hunt for someone to correct this foolishment on my head. I called them and the got a very nice lady who was willing to see me immediately. I went in, showed Dee the problem and told her what I was looking for. She quickly assessed my hair and asked ME how much I thought I should pay. She took out the first row of braids and a few in the crown and re-braided for me. In addition to that, she trimmed all of the wonky hairs that were left sticking out the braids by Blue AND she shaped up the ends that were just blunt cut and left dangling by Blue. Before going to get the correction, I was adamant about NEVER getting braids, again. Going to this salon changed my mind. She was extremely gentle, taking into consideration that my scalp was still extremely tender. She was fast and she was polite. I will definitely be going back as long as Dee is there.
