Canine Perspective Inc

Do not use Canine Perspective, Inc.  They left a muzzle on my dog without proper supervision for 5 straight days - even at night (while he is alone in his crate), which caused bleeding/blister skin irritation that no one noticed until I removed the muzzle when I picked him up. When I asked for any kind of muzzle breaks, they said no but that NOW staff will monitor his muzzle for skin irritation and rewrap it if needed - which as trained dog handlers they should've done in the first place. After being a client for nearly 1 year, this muzzle incident happened under their watch, and instead of trying to figure something out I was informed that they all of a sudden decided that my dog is “no longer a good fit” at their establishment. The owner Jesse is condescending and hides behind emails that he has the secretary send instead of dealing with any issues himself.  If/when a problem occurs seems they would rather cut you as a client over working out a resolution plan. 

(If anyone from Canine Perspective objects to any of the above I am happy to post the emails they sent me that states all of this) 

We rescued our pit bull, Joni, at around 5 months. She was a lovable snuggle bug half of the time, and the other half of the time she was hyper, anxious energy. Around 10 – 12 months, we noticed she was exhibiting some resource guarding behavior and enrolled her in your typical obedience training course recommended by the doggie day care we took her to at the time (positive reinforcement with treats, etc.) We worked on her behaviors using this method for a while, without seeing much improvement. Eventually, she was kicked out of her doggie day care because of her growing aggression toward other dogs. Shortly after this, she bit a friend and then a family member, and we finally realized we needed to do some serious training with her — something that would stick. We found Jess’s information and contacted him immediately.
After our free consultation with Jess, we knew right away that he knew what he was doing and would work hard to make sure we saw results with Joni. It only took the first session with Jess to see her behavior improve — it was almost a complete 180. Not only have her aggressive tendencies ceased, but she now walks leash-​less and has 100% recall. Her hyperactivity and anxiety have subsided, and she is now such a happy and confident dog.
We cannot recommend Jess’s training services highly enough. He has taken the every day stress out of our relationship with Joni. We now feel 100% confident in her ability to listen and behave in any situation. Thank you, Jess!!!

Working with Jess at Canine Perspective has literally changed our lives. Within just a few weeks we were noticing huge changes with our dog, Crosby. He is a rescue and had fear/​anxiety around other dogs that would look like aggression. We had been through a group class and worked with 2 other trainers and nothing would stick.
With Jess’ support in teaching my husband and I how to manage the behaviors with his methods, we were able to learn from him and be able to implement the methods ourselves which really helped with making all the training stick. We are now able to ride the elevator in building without fear, go on walks without having reactions and even go to the dog park and play with other dogs. It’s amazing! He has helped with our dog’s anxiety, which has in turn made all of our lives infinitely better! Our friends and family are always commenting on how well behaved and relaxed Crosby is now and what a transformation he has made.

I can’t say enough about how knowledgable, dedicated and patient Jess has been with my dog and I. He has gone more than above and beyond to accommodate me with my extremely strong dog aggressive dog.
He is thorough in explaining why he is using each method, and takes the time to teach me how to properly handle my dog in any given scenario. He will take the time to do it over and over, until we have the results we are looking for.
I saw more results after 1 session than I’ve seen with multiple trainers, after 2 years of having my dog. Now for the first time in nearly 2 years, I’ve been able to pass dogs on the street without being in fear.
