Decent place. Love their Porto Roma sandwich. They have a decent falafel sandwich and a tomato mozzarella sandwich but I like the grilled Porto Roma the best. If they could add another grilled veggie sandwich option, it’d be great! Consistent service and taste. Judging from some older reviews, they’ve really improved. Prices are fair – $ 6ish including tax and free chips. Also, after 1 pm café is quiet and there’s plenty of seating. Nice place to meet a friend or get some work done.

Forgot my breakfast and popped into CaffeCafe before heading to the office. It’s not far from the Red line(Lake). The line moves quickly and you’re in and out in a just few minutes. The bacon, egg and cheese croissant was on point. I’ll take one star off for it being a bit soggy on the edge… not sure why but I still ate it. =). Prices are good, service is fast.

I love this place. I come here everyday for breakfast because I work in the building. It’s a bit pricey for breakfast but I manage. I will say that my only«complaint» is that on the falafel, they’re heavyyy on the tzaki sauce.

the staff are very friendly and the americano tastes great they actually carry the drink out to you you can actually get some work done here… no loud music and they have large windows so it isn’t too dim

This place is very unsanitary and the food is poor quality. Everything is bland and tastes bad. The sandwiches are extremely greasy and so are the«homemade» soups. My coworkers and I all felt sick afterwards. Save your money.

I love this place! Never had a bad meal here– pesto sandwich, Greek salad, soups, etc are all delicious. On top of that, service is great and the food prices are reasonable for lunch in the loop. Also, it doesn’t get overly packed for seating around lunch so great spot for a sit down with a friend, biz partner, etc!

The egg salad sandwich that was slapped together for me with about 12 noodles they consider a side of pasta salad was an embarrassment. The thinnest layer of egg salad was on it but I’m not sure it would have tasted any better with more. It’s a shame because I just got a job in the building. When 7 – 11 is better and cheaper you’re in trouble. Never again. And thick plastic disposable plates? Try caring about your food and the planet. Now I got a message from«Kenny S» who’s one review is 5 stars for this place calling me a «cheap ass» and to stay away. Lovely people here!

Great undiscovered lunch place in the Loop. Quiet, mellow, free wi-fi, good natural light. I stick with the grilled chicken spinach wrap, and it’s healthier than what I get elsewhere in the neighborhood at lunch(cheese/mayo-heavy options elsewhere). Tasty, reliable. Most of all, I just like a calm place on my lunch hour – hard to find a calm place at noon in the Loop, but this is it.

A colleague told me about this place as I was complaining that I missed the reuben @ Eppys Deli since we moved offices. He mentioned to me that they had a good reuben here and that was all I needed to hear. I walked over and was welcomed by the person that seemed to be the manager/owner. I told him I heard about the reuben and he said he thought it was good as well. I took it to go and it was delicious as it came with a pickle and bag of chips for about $ 6 and some change. It was so good I stopped in again and had another reuben. The staff is pretty nice and you get those punch cards that allows you to keep using until you get a free one. They have breakfast items and of course they have coffee & tea as well as other café style items This place is located a couple buildings north of mine and I could actually walk to it without going outside.

I wrote a review some weeks ago… and yeah the owner read it and I got a very nice email reply telling me to ‘get lost’. Hmm. Okay. Not a problem. Thank you for proving my point.

Mediocre. I came here for lunch, the place is hidden in huge building, was not easy to find. The choice of food is big enough, the quality is okay, but the service definitely needs improvement.

I’d say that since my original review, Caffecafe has earned the full 4 stars. The owners must read their own Unilocal press because suddenly the lines are moving super fast and the females are forcing smiles and really attempting to be more chipper. I’ve seen that kind of improved behavior for the past three days in a row, so color me impressed. Caffecafe is getting all my money!

After seeing Caffe Café’ Groupon Now! offer, I figured I would give them a shot. I ended up ordering the Chicken Pesto sandwich and a side of tabouleh. The sandwich also came with a small serving of pasta salad and a pickle spear. If I could sum up the sandwich in one word, it would be bland. The chicken was flavorless and the pesto was lousy. The pasta salad and tobouleh were OK. There are just too many good options in the area to return to this café… even if it was $ 5 for $ 10.

The staff is not very friendly, and seem like they are annoyed with their customers. Smile people it’s contagious! :) Also, had the chicken salad sandwich and it was so dry. no flavor, and the tomato tortellini soup tasted like it was from a can. I have definitely had better sandwiches. Good prices though!

Groupon Now deal, $ 5 for $ 10. This place is a café, basically a boring, quick place to get lunch, coffee, or breakfast, which is fine. Service was off or something. My buddy and I ordered one after the other, but his soup and sandwich came a good 10min after mine. Probably a one off thing, but it knocks a star off. I sat there waiting while she brought out about 5 other people’s food, all of whom came in after us. Whatever. I had a mozz, tomato, basil sandwich. I had them toast the bread slightly. Bread was fresh, as were the other ingredients. It was good. Soup was tomato tortellini that didn’t taste special. My buddy had the soup also and a Wacker Beef, which, apart from the juvenilely hilarious name, was also bland. The beef was obviously reheated too much so it was dry and lacked flavor. The breakfast menu looks kind of appealing for the price and it’s on my walk to work, so I’ll possibly try it sometime for that. For $ 5(w/groupon) it was a fair lunch, but no chance I go back without it.

I came here after two years of working two blocks away. It turns out I was not missing anything. The people were all very nice, but the food was pretty awful. Soup– It tasted canned. Nothing about it was good. Ruben– It was alright, but excessively greasy. I don’t think I’ll be back.

I was in the area and has some time to kill and all I wanted was a cup of coffee so i stopped in for a latte. They do make a damn good cup of coffee. The odd thing about this place was that there were two people working at the time of my visit. Neither one of them cracked a smile the entire time. I have never seen a more expressionless staff anywhere. It was kind of weird to be honest with you. As I said before, they make a dam good cup of coffee and I would like to try something to eat here too so i will be back.

I love Caffe Café! It’s located in my building, so it’s super convenient– especially when it’s cold outside. What really sets Caffe Café apart is the incredible service. The entire staff at CC gets to know your name, has your coffee ready in the morning, and always makes me smile on my way to work. Recently, Kenny even made me a unique topper for my Christmas tree crafted from a Caffe Café cup.(I wish Unilocal would let me post a picture.) Definitely check it out– try a chocolate croissant, a mozza baguette, or a tub of tabouleh– yum!

This place kind of found me a week or two ago and I’ve been back four times since then. I think it’s a real gem and I feel sorry for all of the idiots who pack Starbucks in the morning when this place offers fresh, quality menu items every day. Plus, I think it’s important to support local small businesses, especially when their offerings include vegetarian items. Most Americans don’t understand good food anyway, as is evidenced by all of the McDonald’s bag toters back to my office every day. For the small minority that do, please check out Caffe Café.

Perfect for people in the building or passing by. A couple of good sandwiches, but nothing to write home about… or write a review about… …
