If its super late and not in the mood for Golden Nugget, this place is a good alternative. Its open ²⁴⁄₇ and has a wide variety of choices. Has Mexican to regular breakfast items.
Service is always awesome even though they have to deal with after hour bar/​club goers.

Hidden Gem, Open 24 Hours, great cheap burritos, it’s a dirty grease pit – what’s not to like!

I’ve been coming to this joint for years…
They are conveniently close to my house. The food is FANTABULOUS… i can’t rave about this place enough. Sure on the weekend you might catch a fight outside, but that’s likely wherever there’s a bar close by. That doesn’t take away from the wonderful food.

I came to this place a few days ago with a couple of my girlfriends. This place is awesome the food is great the staff is friendly. The place has changed there name to First Expressions. They have up a full bar, they have every liquor you could thin off including Wifi which is great. The owner Ray is so attentive he came to see if everything was ok. I was very impressed. They have nice big screen T.V.s. The place is beautiful inside. I will definitely recommend this place. I’ve gone to the local bars down the street and they don’t compare to First Expressions. My girlfriends and I will be coming back. Oh and by the way the sometimes have a D.J. or they have music playing which is awesome. LOVE THIS PLACE

I welcome Café Del Mundo to my neighborhood. Its very nice 24 hour BYOB burger /​Mexican food joint at the moment although things will change when they get the liquor license. For now the owner gave us full attention, put our beer in the fridge and the rest in a ice bucket. Food is good and prices are cheap. The place needs a sign and needs to define itself fast because I do not want to see this place go.

Ok… I just wrote my review a few days ago but it had been at least a few weeks since I’d been in for any drunken, late night gluttony. Well, after a night at Lizard’s Liquid Lounge just down the street I popped in– things have changed a little.
The owner is trying to open a restaurant/​bar next door and word is he is having a hard time getting a liquor license. He sunk a ton of money into the project and I believe it has taken a toll on my late night snacking. Also, there is a curtain masking the room where the machines used to be visable. I think the machines are gone which would mean the drunken backroom gamblers also appear to be gone.
The 2 hamburger special is now $ 5.95, the buns are thinner and crappy and the foliage I enjoyed so much was sparse. The breakfast food appears to be uneffected by the money drain next door.
So I will still stop in late at night but during the day if I need a burger they are cancelled.

that place had some of the most kick ass burritos,…especially after a night of drinking downtown. Just have ray cook your steak burrito extra well that way theres no fat on it. other than that the burrito plates were the best i ever had. I used to travel all the way from niles just to get my burrito fix. café del mundo and taco burrito king are by far the best burrito joints to eat at. Highly recommended.

Juevos con chorizo is what you need to get here… always get salsa to go, it helps the flavor come out…
If you dine in after hours be prepared to witness a fight of some sort, I have had guys fighting all around me while I smoked a cig, the area bums suck too but if you are lucky they will fight accross the street at the bus stop.

I discovered this place on a stumble back from my local watering hole Christina’s Place. I was pretty drunk and not really feelin’ the extra 2 block walk to the Golden Nugget. Noticing the hand painted 24hrs on the window I decided to give this little dinner counter place a try.
The bright lights are not good when sober or intoxicated and i would have to agree that takeaway is the best option. Though the wait can be kinda nerve racking especially when on a munchie mission and totally noidin’ out.
I have yet to try their «American Food» but the Burrito Ranchero is highly recommended for scenarios similar to the above mentioned, and even better a couple hours later when you’re hungry again during that late night Law and Order re-​run.

Super yummy burger and mexican food place. Also, there’s no name on the outside, it’s next to the Irving/​Kedzie currency exchange. The lil place with «24 hours» written on the window. Burgers are heavenly even if you’re not hammered and starving, but they’re obviously even more welcome then :). Not a sit-​back-​relax diner tho. You sit on stools like you’re at a very brightly lit bar, so get it to go. (Golden Nugget’s visible just west if you want a sit-​down place, it’s 24 hrs as well)
