This was my first time trying out this place since I’ve heard so much about it I decided to give it a try. I went in last week on a Tuesday night with my husband and two kids. The cashier Carly was so sweet and helpful with the menu and beer selection. She recommended the Gallows Pole and House of the Rising Sun burgers and garlic parm and belly fries. Soo delicious! Very attentive and friendly staff. Kept the restaurant clean, played good tunes and those were by far the best burgers we ever had! We will be back!

The food here was deeeelish! The burgers are huge and the different flavor fries were really fun to try. This is a cute little place, in the heart of the neighborhood! Fun on a summer day. Give it a try!

I was a silly girl just thinking BRGRBELLY was a low-key type of burger spot. We walked over yesterday and I was met with great music, fabulous music memorabilia on the walls(TWO photos of my man John Lennon) and intricate ingredient strewn burger options, as well as a bountiful craft beer list. We placed our order at the counter, got our number to sit and sat ourselves down to take in the ambiance. While jamming out to some good rock n roll, we partook in the music trivia cards on the table. We sucked. We didn’t know as much as we thought we did. Having the trivia on the table is such a nice little touch though! I went during Unilocal’s special Burger Binge Week so was able to snag a Black Betty for just $ 5 — Normally $ 9.95. Scizzore! The Black Betty is a spicy little number dressed in smoked bacon, bleu cheese, fried onion straws, and buffalo bleu sauce. That sauce is way spicier than I expected! I’m weak and had to dab a bit off to be able to put in my mouth.(in my muthafluppin mouth~ akinyele). Speaking of not being able to shove things in my piehole, this burger is thick! I know I have a smaller than average mouth but I had to smoosh it down real hard to fit it in! This was a really good burger and it was absolutely loaded with every component mentioned — there must have been 4 strips of bacon on it! One of the fun things at BRGRBELLY is the variety of fries! Sure you can get a plain jane order of fries… but why do that when they have Garlic, Bleu Cheese, Polish, Chipotle, and Belly fries! We went with the Belly Fry which I think was some ridiculously cheap amount of $ 4. These came covered in onion straws, a good amount of cubed pork belly and Carolina mustard sauce. To top it all off, they gave us each a cookie with our order! How sweet! We need to go back so I can try some of their milkshakes… more importantly their SPIKED milkshakes! Genius! Their burgers are legit(need to also try more of these), atmosphere is really cool and fabulous service!

A great patty with quality looking meat and taste you can still see the pebble sized grains. One bite and you know it’s quite fresh. The downside for me was the bun is a bit weak. It looked like one of those onion rolls that I used to get from Jewels. Everything is heavily seasoned. I almost would have preferred it without all that sauce! The Black Betty was the #YelpBurgerBingeWeek special, so you can’t go wrong with a $ 5 burger. It’s got a spicy cream sauce with bacon, bleu cheese and crispy onion rings. If you like a well seasoned burger, this is it, but for me, it was almost too much!!! I’m always one for getting the crazy topping stacked burger, but the beef is that good, it’s almost unnecessary. Lots of kids on Friday(as you can see by their kids eat free) and a parking lot. This is also one of those«fast casual» where you line up to order and you sit anywhere and bring food to you. Personally, I like this type of dining, but just an FYI.

We came here for the the #YelpBurgerBingeWeek special. For a mere Abe Lincoln, you can emancipate your hunger(you like what I just did?) with the Black Betty — a ginormous burger with smoked bacon, bleu cheese, homemade fried onion straws, and buffalo bleu sauce. Pro-tip: the burger was somewhat drenched in this spicy sauce, so be forewarned, or order it on the side). This place is also known for their in-house made buns, which were tasty. We also got an order of the belly fry, which were fries that had diced pork belly, homemade crispy onion straws, carolina mustard sauce. Rather tasty, but I did wish the diced pork belly was less fatty, as some of the diced chunks consisted of just fat. They also server alcohol and alcoholic shakes and have a plethora of hot sauces on deck. Ambiance wise, this place kind of follows a music theme — they had plenty of flat screens showcasing old-school hits and concerts, along with pictures of musicians such as John Lennon. To ease on the 10−15minute wait for your burger, they have trivia cards on each table to pass the time. The trivia cards were mainly to do with music as well. Overall, their burgers are very creative, tasty, and filling.

Burgers are good. Atmosphere is fun. Played 90’s Rock on video screens. Kids is free which is awesome! Only wished it was a little cleaner. I’m definitely coming back and try a different burger!

The bun seriously just blew me away — it was outstanding just by itself. But by putting that little bit of toasting on it before cradling the yummy, juicy hunk of meat in there… fuuuget about it! YUM! The fries are yummy too — nice and crispy with lots of interesting topping choices.

I’m drooling just thinking about this place. The burgers, the fries, the little homemade cookies. Seriously delicious. I love the Old Time Religion. We always order carry out as the venue is on the small side.

The music is good, the shakes are good, the cookies are good, and they feed your young children for free. The fries are OK. Nothing to write home about. Not even if you order their specialty fries. They just sound great, no taste to back it up. The first time we got two specialty fries. This last time we just shared the little bunch of free fries they gave my son and we didn’t even finish those. Lackluster is the word that comes to mind. I really wanted to love this place because they opened right in the backyard of my neighborhood but, this place is so over rated. I’ve gone to this location twice. I went when they first opened and just recently went back. Because like I said, I really wanted to love this place. I’ve tried four different burgers and each time I left feeling like we should have gone someplace else to eat. I guess I’ll just keep going to downtown Chicago for my burgers. They’ve burned me for the second time. I don’t believe in third chances. Unless it’s my wife. She can have all the chances she needs. Unless she cheats on me. In that case, all bets are off and I’ll eat her liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti. :)

my company had BRGRbelly come to the office on the weekend for a busy season lunch the pattie would be even tastier if we were to have it at the restaurant… but nonetheness, it was still very juicy and satisfying. I especially liked the portobello mushroom pattie and the truffle aioli sauce the chips are awesome too! very crisp, yum yum

My third time eating their burgers. The first time was at the Irving park location, the second was at work through Fooda(not as good because they produced like 400 burgers) and then today — the food rocked. I like the décor — pics of prominent singers and bands. There’s really good music playing too. I’ve enjoyed having the rise and shine burger and the Lead belly burger. The patty is a nice size and is very flavorful. The fries are a generous portion and it comes in a small basket. I’ve eaten everything off of my tray. The complimentary cookie treat is a nice touch.

This is a good place to get delicious burgers for a not so bad price for portion! It kinda gives me a feel of Kuma’s Korner minus the crazy prices and loud music! We tried the Amazing grace burger with parmesan fries and Midnight special burger and they were good!

I’ve been wanting to try this place for forever but we just got around to it a few weeks ago. My husband and I went in without the kids but this place seems kid friendly enough that I’d be ok with bringing them in. It’s counter service so you walk in and order from the board. I had a Black Betty and my husband had an Amazing Grace. I’m all kindsa pregnant so we passed on the beers although they have a great selection. I really, really liked the Black Betty. It was messy as Hell and I needed piles of napkins to eat it but it was amazing. I tried a bite of the Amazing Grace and it was also excellent. We also shared an order of garlic Parmesan fries and they were perfection. My only complaint is that we asked for our burgers to be medium rare and they came out medium well. There wasn’t any pink to it. I’m assuming it was something that doesn’t happen regularly so hopefully next time we’ll get a burger with some pink.

First time diner here. Definitely a more hip hamburger joint with a grunge rock theme as evidenced by the music videos playing on mulltiple tv screens and the musician pictures lining the walls. I ordered the«House of the Rising Sun» burger which consists of the hamburger, fried egg, cheddar cheese, smoked bacon, homemade sriracha pickles and Bloody Mary Sauce! ABSOLUTELYFRIGGIN’ DELICIOUS! Garlic Parmesan Fries and a Sprercher Grape Soda rounded out the meal. They also have draft beer and a large variety of craft beers. I will definitely drive in from Palatine to try their other specialty burgers! sA

So this is the second check in at this location. The last time I was here this was LEADBELLY. They have since changed their name to Brgrbelly due to some legal mumbo jumbo with the trademarked name«Leadbelly» by the House of Leadbelly Estate in Tennessee. I mean come on AREYOUKIDDINGME? Brgrbelly is open for lunch at this location and has a lunch special for the Brgrbelly burger, fries and a drink. On Tuesday that have $ 2 craft beers. The other location on Irving Park isn’t open for lunch so it would stand to reason that there is no lunch special. Anyway the first time I had the«Easy Rider Burger» which was absolutely decadent, delicious & amazing. Well I decided to try something different this time so after perusing the menu of the 12 different choices of burgers I selected the«Amazing Grace» burger which made me go «hallelujah». Holy Moly this burger is about 4 ½″ — 5″ tall. I ate my garlic Parmesan fries while I looked at this humongous burger trying to figure how I could wrap my mouth around it literally.(& I have a big mouth, but this burger was huge). The«Amazing Grace Burger had the beef(of coarse), smoked pork belly atop the juicy meat, crispy onion straws, homemade spicy sriracha pickles, carolina mustard BBQ. It made me want to scream out. Andrew our server saw that I was having issues with tacking this humongous burger quickly brought me a handful of napkins realizing the carnage that was about to happen as I was preparing to attack this burger. Once again Brgrbelly didn’t disappoint and it was another fabulous burger. Andrew our server kept coming back, clearing little table and making sure everyone was getting what they needed. Burger lovers you have to check out Brgrbelly so far they are 2 for 2 with the great burgers(only 10 more to go)

I prefer this location over the original on Irving Park Road because this location is open for lunch and is bigger with more seating. There might still be a bit of a wait depending on how crowded it is, but the burgers and brews are still on point and worth the wait. When you enter, you need to take an immediate right and that gets you in line. The placing of the menu board is a bit awkward, can’t really see it if you’re in the back of the line and I didn’t see any paper menus out so one can check out the menu while you wait. So if you’re new and/or you’re one to take a while to make a decision, I’d suggest looking at their online menu. Of course all you kids have smart phones, you can always look at the menu online while you wait. But really, you can’t go wrong with any of the burgers on the menu. My go-to is the Old Time Religion, because well, truffle aioli. I’ve also tried the Midnight Special(it’s like a taco on a burger – very fresh and tasty), House of the Rising Sun(fried egg topped? yes please!). The patties are made of a ground beef and smoked pork belly blend so the patty itself is very flavorful and juicy. The fries are also very good – The Belly Fry is my favorite because well, pork belly, onion straws and carolina mustard! The Polish Fry is also very good, the horseradish mustard sauce is really good – I’d ask for more on the side. Their Garlic Parm is really garlicky, but I’d prefer the parm to be grated instead of the powdery topping we got. It kind of made the fries«dry». If that makes any sense. Anyway, great craft beer selection, tons of hot sauces to add some kick to your meal. Music videos playing continuously on the flat screen. Friendly service. An easy fave.

We went on a Saturday and the place opens at noon. We knew we were in for a treat when we noticed people already waiting in line and in their cars for the doors to open. Once they opened the doors, all of the tables were full within 15minutes. A few of the reviews below mention that the burgers are small and the pictures can be deceiving, so we ordered three burgers(Easy Rider, Black Betty, Good Night Irene), two fries(garlic and blue), and a shake(chocolate). These burgers are not small and we ordered way too much. Our favorite burger overall was the Good Night Irene. A huge burger with a crab cake on top. The Pico de Gallo was amazing and some of the best we’ve ever had on a burger. The burger was so big that we had to take the crab cake off, cut it into bite-size portions, and eat it with bites of the burger to get the whole flavor. Be warned about the blue cheese. It is really, really strong and goes a long way. The Black Betty and Blue Fries were amazing, but the cheese is so strong that it was all we could taste. Plus, add the Spicy Buffalo Blue Sauce(we thought it tasted more like a sriracha mayonnaise) and you’re in for a flavor overload. We suggest only getting either of them if you really love blue cheese and getting both may be overkill. The beef patties themselves are huge. Ours was perfectly cooked to medium: brown outside and slightly pink inside(which is how we ordered it). If you like skinny, flat burgers, this is not the place for you. We almost gave this place three stars because of the price. Each burger is about $ 10. However, you get a cookie(a tasty almond one) with each order. Plus, for Chicago, the prices are not that expensive and they have free parking right out front. The final push up to four stars was the fact that they carry Marie Sharps, a Belizean Hot Sauce that we fell in love with when we lived abroad.

This place is not in the most assuming of locations… a strip mall, but this place has enough seating space, ample parking and a great interior. They have a great selection of craft beers and a gourmet menu of delicious burgers. From the looks of the menu, it seems like most of the burgers are polish inspired. Their burgers are a mixture of ground beef and pork belly so for those of you who cannot eat pork, BEWARE of this! Their fry selection is to die for. From garlic parm, to blue cheese, to polish sausage fries, to chipotle and pork belly fries, you have a good selection to choose from. Lastly, they have a variety of spiked shakes for those of you who are craving a milk shake but with a little zing of alcohol! Love love love this place… would def recommend it to anyone looking for a unique burger and a variety of fries selection!

For me, a burger place must do 2 things well to be considered successful. That is, create a tasty beef patty and awesome fries. Although not life-altering-experience good, I feel that Leadbelly does succeed in both these areas. In general, the beef patties are tasty with a good level of seasoning and have a nice hearty size to them. The smoked pork belly that is mixed in with the ground beef does add a memorable flavor to the patty although I wish that the patty itself was a bit more juicy. The homemade items really do shine through, from the tasty sauces to the fluffy buns. This gives each item a fresh taste and unique flavors. One thing I really liked about all the burgers I tried was that the beef patty was clearly the theme ingredient. The other elements of the burger like the smoked bacon and bourbon bbq sauce in the Easy Rider or Goat Cheese and Truffle Aoili in Old Time Religion helped to bring out the flavor of the meat rather than overpower it. This can really only happen when you have faith in the quality of your ingredients and do not need to use seasoning and sauces to mask poor quality meat. I really enjoyed the clear difference in presentation, colors, shape, and flavors of each of the burgers I tried. From the other items I saw on the menu, I really appreciate the variety of interesting flavor combinations they offer, without being extremely pricey for a similar burger elsewhere. I enjoyed the fries quite a bit here. Generously sized, slightly soft but with nice crispy edges and a thicker cut with some skin. What I really like about this was also the toppings and seasoning didn’t mask the strong potato flavor present in the fries. In particular, the garlic parm fries had a nice subtle garlic and parmesean flavor without feeling greasy or too salty. The chipotle fries weren’t too spicy and gave a nice contrast of textures with the chili cheese fritos that were topped with a chipotle cream sauce. The Leadbelly butter cookie is a delicious mix of crushed pecans, white chocolate, milk chocolate with good strong flavor of egg and butter clearly present in the cookie. Perfect way to end the meal. Leadbelly is a great way to get creative burgers that you’ll find at some of the better known spots in the city for a cheaper price and without the long wait. I’ll definitely be giving this place another visit in the near future.
