I have finally experienced 100 percent perfect customer service!!! We went here on a late night, starving for pancakes whim and loved it! Our waitress Kim was without a doubt the absolute best waitress I have ever had! She was perfect. The food(pancakes) were great and I had my very first… but not last chocolate soda. I will come here again and again because of the food and the soda BUT I will look forward to it in the hopes that Kim will be my waitress again. Amazing. Kicks the crap out of ihop, dennys, golden nugget, or any other place you could go to late at night.

Pleasantly surprised by this diner. Your standard old school diner fare but it everything we had was done well. Good potatoes, not the strange cubed kind that comes out of a bag. Good ham, toast and eggs. My kid enjoyed her pancake.

There is no other restaurant in the area that even compares to Big Top. First I would like to say is I have lived right in the neighborhood for over a year and never stopped into this place. I came in around midnight and had the late night special, which first came with soup, bread, butter and crackers. For the main course I ordered a cheese burger and it is one of the best I have ever had, nothing even compares to it. The only regret about this place I have is not discovering it earlier, for a place opened 24 hours I will regularly start going to this place. Service was amazing too. Food came out quicker than I even expected. Overall with the quality of food, service, and availability, I will be going to this place a lot more often. There is no reason to go to any other restaurant in the area because this place has everything. I will definitely start coming to this place regularly.

Very good food, very good prices, very good service. It hasn’t been redecorated in a while, but then again it’s clean. The bus person, the server and(I assume) the owner kept the(smallish) dining floor running smooth and orderly. If you’re looking for fancy takes on items, go somewhere else. If you’re looking for a good, basic meal at a good price try here. The 24 hour operation is a plus in this area

came here late at night with a friend and both ordered the skirt steak with hash brown and shared a sausage omelet. the food is alright. taste like every other diner to me. the steak was cooked medium raw as I suggested which is a plus. the hash browns was ehhh. the sausage omelet was also ok. server was nice and food came out pretty quick.

Cheap food in a place that’s open 24 hours. Shame it’s one of the only restaurants in the neighborhood but that’s life.

So I have read a lot of people saying that the food was decent or just okay, but I have to say that my fiancé and I loved it so much. The outside was not great, but when we sat down and got that food it was amazing! She had a bacon cheeseburger and I had the corned beef skillet with coffee. It was amazing and the service was great. I will definitely be back!

This place was alright. Definitely old school. Food came out within 10 minutes it wasn’t busy at all on Sunday at 8am but the food coming out that fast leads me to believe it’s not fresh at all. I had egg Benedict for the first time and I personally thought the sauce was gross, my boyfriend enjoyed his meal. Not sure what he got but I guess it was decent. Nothing to brag about and probably wouldn’t go there again. The server was nice but didn’t go out of her way when she saw my plate hardly even touched she didn’t bother to ask if it was alright. Which in my opinion as a previous server is not great. If you don’t care to blow $ 20 on food you can make better at home than this is the place for you.

Love this place been coming here since freshmen year of h.s. The food is so good. Prefer the desserts instead. They really have to update their menus there old and dirty.

I came in on Valentine’s Day with others and we all loved it! I ordered a chocolate milkshake which was great and the amount they give is so generous compared to other places I’ve been. I had the pancakes with eggs and everything was done completely well! There was hot syrup ready which was even better. Service was quick and friendly! I recommend this to everyone! I can’t believe I hadn’t gone there before.

Big Top occupies a special place in my heart. It’s nearby, it’s open 24/7, what more could a writer want? The service is super sweet, and really friendly. I’d love to strike up a conversation to learn more about their stories. The food is good and reasonably priced. I think their French fries are some of the best I’ve had in my entire life. I would highly recommend them. Double plus, if you end up at Big Top at any hour of the night and choose to play Bananagrams, no one will judge you. :)

It’s hard to find something special to say about this little 24-hour diner. You definitely don’t have to worry about what you look like when you come here, so if sweatpants and endless coffee refills is your endgame, then look for further. You’re greeted by a host the moment you push through the glass doors. Today, I was offered the option of sitting wherever I wanted. I had the croissant sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese, nestled up against cheddar-topped potatoes. I couldn’t turn down a side of corned-beef hash either. Again, here I am loading up on food for no reason. The sandwich disappointed me. The croissant wasn’t moist or buttery, but everything else was delicious. The corned-beef hash being the best out of everything. I really wanted something from their lunch menu, and they must only serve it after a certain time of the day. My appetite was somewhere along the lines of a bacon-cheese burger with a fried egg, surrounded by french fries. I think with the breakfast items offered, that it would be better for you to order crepes or an omelet, both of which I wasn’t in the mood for. The next time I get a sweet tooth, I might find myself at their doorstep.

I have been searching for a regular place to go since my move back to Chicago in March. I finally had an opportunity to stop in a few weeks ago, and have been back a few times since. The food is always great, and the service spectacular. I waitressed years ago and had regular customers, much like the girls in this place. It is so nice to see smiling faces at breakfast! So happy to have found this place !!!

Not bad at all! A charming, traditional Chicago mom-and-pop diner at just the right price. The old waitresses were so friendly. I got the gyro plate which was almost more than I could eat! They were gracious enough to substitute carrots for the fries. Food was good — didn’t knock it out of the park, but was plenty delicious for the price. Lovely little place to try out if you’re ever in the area and want something quick and no-frills.

I never heard of this place but one night my friends and I were out having a good time and we got hungry at the end. We saw on google that this place was open and near our current location. The venue inside was very pleasant. Well kept and spacious. The menu was just as good as well. I had a breakfast plate with eggs, pancakes, and hash browns. It came out really good and out in a timely fashion. My friends got a burger with friends and it was huge for a good price. All in all i am happy with this venue and the decision I made coming here. I will def be back.

This is definitely a small and cozy family diner! I enjoyed the food and service and looking forward to trying more on their menu! We ordered strawberry banana pecan crêpe, panckakes, and a sausage skillet.

The restaurant is extremely busy but the servers and cooks work at a fast pace to keep up with everything. We sat at the counter and got to watch the madness happen. Unfortunately, we also witnessed our waitress constantly yelling at the kitchen and accusing them of screwing up orders. Because of this, our breakfasts were delayed and my food was slightly cold(especially the hash browns). The waitress was also rude to us. The food was just okay — the combination of that and our waitress means we won’t be coming back.

Im not going to take too long with this. I could go to Ihop for a better breakfast. 3 eggs over easy with toast and a burger patty along with a short stack of pancakes for my daughter shouldnt cost me $ 38 especially when the burger patty wasnt a homemade. obviously frozen patties.
