Love Big Bowl BUT the service at the Navy Pier restaurant row is absolutely horrendous. Completely takes away from the BB experience. Common Aramark you can hire /train better.

First time visiting Chicago, stopped by Navy Pier and decided to go with Big Bowl Chinese express. Very quick service, reasonable prices, and the food was delicious. Also they do not fill your plate up with a lot of rice and give you very little of the entrée, they give a very good portion for the price you pay. Overall very exceptional service. Stop by if near Navy Pier!

I ordered the sesame chicken. It looked like it would be the best dish their, many of the dishes looked like they were pretty much just vegetables and no meat. I was wrong. The sesame chicken was no different. I had maybe three real peice of chicken and a few little crumbs. It was all filler, mostly onions. On the up side the sauce was pretty good. You won’t get a lot of bang for your buck here.

Very Disappointing. I have never tried any stir fry bowl worse than what I had at the Big Bowl Chinese Express at the navy pier. The stir fry was 80% green onion and some of them are way too big. A stir fry is suppose to bring life to the starch(rice or noodles) and the meat, not to make the taste even worse. Today I had a kung pao chicken bowl and some chicken were undercooked and some were overcooked. I could see from this that they are not consistent in their cooking because one person’s meal should taste like it was cooked for them not like someone threw leftovers on their plate. I know some people will think I’m a harsh, judgemental person but when you try this place you will want to write even a longer review than mine. To top it all off the price was $ 19 for a two bowl combo and a substitute of fried rice. Panda Express has combos that have even bigger portions with drinks and sides for about $ 8 – 10. This place ruined my day. Authentic my ass.

The four stars is based on a fast-food Chinese location and not a table service place. The food was hot, tasty(sesame chicken was definitely a little spicy) and the portions were generous. The service was quick since they had just made the dish but I can see a wait if they make it to order. I substituted fried rice for the white rice — something that for a $ 1.79 up-charge, I wouldn’t do again.

Came here because it was my friends childhood favorite food. We ordered the orange chicken with Jasmine rice and I can see why it made such a big impression on her. It was delicious! I liked how the chicken had little to no breading but rather had a sweet orange sauce over the chicken. The Jasmine rice was warm and sticky, and paired perfectly with chicken. The portion size was quite large and was easy to share between two people. I would be happy to eat here again. Better than Panda Express.

The spicy noodles were hot going in… and hot going out!

The food is good here. I prefer the schaumburg location. I like the fact that big bowl is consistent everywhere except the one on Ohio street. Good quick meal

Gross, compared to other Big Bowl restaurants. It’s difficult for a fast food joint to retain the same quality as its larger counterpart, but this location doesn’t even try. I was also grossed out by the woman walking around handling money and then handling raw food – without gloves and a hair net or hat.

Long wait for a fast food restaurant. The quality of the food is poor. super super greasy even by Chinese food standard. Potstickers are stale even at peak lunch time.

It’s an awful chinese fast food. The staffs are cold. The food is so below average and expensive. Very very salty dishes are just full of soy sauce. BIGNO!

Food was good. I would give it a 4⁄5 rating. Cooked with perfection, there are a lot of food selection which is nice. The staff are not that good though. Noticed that they were bad as hell. Don’t know how to properly tend to their customers.

Vegetable tofu curry is the bomb! If you’re craving for chinese and phở this is the right place. They have a bar where you can make your own stir fry. Also, our server was the best. She really knew the dishes that they have and what are the best especially for those who doesnt like spicy foods.

I arrived for lunch and nothing is prepared– it took me 20 minutes to get my white rice and sesame chicken. Reallly. Slow.

Good food, on par with other locations, chefs working hard. Rest of staff horrifically disorganized. Counter wait 10 – 15 minutes while hot food gets cold and staff runs around like headless chickens. Would not recommend.
