Neighborhood is seedy but beauty house is a great place to find great hair extensions at a reasonable cost. I knew what brand of extensions I wanted and the salespeople were able to find me good «Remy» quality hair just not at Remy prices. Parking lot is small. Store is off the red line Wilson stop. Just FYI. Be mindful of the neighborhood.

I walked in today for the 1st time and was followed around by (2) men like I was going to steal something. They stood very close to me and I felt very uncomfortable. The women at the front desk were extremely nice but I will not return and I will follow a complaint with the BBB and Consumer Affairs.
I feel that if you are a regular customer you are treated fairly and but as a new customer I am very disappointed.

Upon walking in I was greeted, the owner was training a few new employees. He was kind enough to hand me a basket while doing his walk throughs. For an Asian owned business, I have to say this is by far the best place to get your beauty needs. The staff are knowledgable and friendly. They carry non scented garlic shampoo, hard to find in Chicago. They carry a decent array of budget make up lines as well. I will definitely be back.

Large selection. The employees could work on their customer service but I suspect they don’t really care much because they know people will keep coming. One employee will try to get you to use his hair services while you’re shopping but he’s friendly and harmless. I did finally get a smile from the other employees when I showed up at the counter to pay. Overall it’s the usual experience at a beauty supply, I’d return. Though I overheard another woman complaining that the wig salesperson was rushing them.

My mom and I have been coming here for hair for over 10 years LITERALLY. there was a woman who worked there forever who was always there and knew what I wanted all the time. Unfortunately she left. When I call I know exactly where what im looking for is located so when the new girls answer the phone I guide them. Sometimes they’ll tell me they dont have it but I know they just arent looking hard enough and when I guide them. It’s there. Ms. Lee is an angel she knows exactly what I want or a better alternative. I travel all the way up north just to get what I need

Went in yesterday to purchase extensions for my lady. The place is like a subtle Home Depot of hair. But the staff was VERY helpful to my needs. Veronica especially! She was great!!! I totally recommend this place for all hair needs!

Huge selection of other beauty products such as hair accessories, jewerly, makeup
Cons:
EVERY wig is black, where’s the love for us blondes!
There is more «security» then actual workers who can help you

I used to go here to buy hair for braiding and I was a loyal customer. They have a variety of hair brands and types, and not to pricey on hair products. It was my go to spot when I was in Chicago and I recommended it to everybody I knew.

Soooo… I just called to see how much Indian Remy was and they don’t give prices over the phone. Kind of odd if you ask me. Several months ago I went in to buy Saga Gold Remy. I spent $ 100 for two packs of 10″ on Amazon I spent $ 100 for the same hair at 12″ and 14″. That being said, Beauty House is something like a SCAM. This is the reason I buy on Amazon. Serivce isn’t all that great inside the store either, ladies cautions.

Ive been coming here now for several years and need to say that the customer service is usually consistent. From the door to the cashiers the staff is welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. The store carry just about everything… sometimes the hair selection seems a bit reduntance/​overwelmning. However the prices are usually fair.

Ok. So this is really, really obnoxious. Today I called Beauty House to see if they had a very expensive product I normally buy, (Indian Remi Hair). I asked for a price on it and the girl stated «I’m sorry, we don’t do prices over the phone.» Wow. While I know it’s not her fault and she was very polite — this is a real turn off, and only leads me to assume they’ve raised their prices and lowered their customer service. If they had the lowest prices they would have NO PROBLEM disclosing them on the phone. Way to shoot yourself in the foot Beauty House.

If you are a hair product junkie, this place will be Christmas Day for you. They have aisles and aisles of hair stuff and YES, for black hair. The good part for me is that it is on the north side of the city so now I don’t have to drive all the way to the south or west sides of the city to get what I want. But to be totally honest, this place is better than any beauty supply store that I have been to in either of those areas. The other good thing is that if you can’t find what you want here there is another hair place right around the corner on Broadway about 2 blocks away.

Love Love Love the fact that I now have a staple Black Beauty Supply store on the Northside. Nope Sally’s doesn’t do it with their shelf and ½ of black hair care products and I am not even going to begin to comment on the lameness around the corner from this place but they had everything I needed and I wanted and at a very reasonable prices. I can even commend them for carrying some more natural hair care lines and the lines that are mostly available online. I just found one more reason to fall in love with the North side! A+ in my book

This place has lots of hard to find hair products in one place. When I lived in the area, I went often (I’m obsessed with my hair). Now that I don’t live in the neighborhood, I pop in when I can and can always count on Beauty House to have great Black hair products at reasonable prices.

I come to this store every 2 weeks or so to grab a pack of extensions and the usual hair spray or oil sheen or etc. The ladies are always very nice and quick. I’m usually in and out within minutes. Huge selection, anything and everything you would need. Every color, style, you name it. Price is great too.
