PEOPLE this place is CLOSED! I tried to go here for dinner with friends Friday night(10÷19÷12) and was sadly disappointed after getting ready for BYOB& Italian. Lukcily, we walked a couple blocks down to another BYOB — D’Candela.

Amoremia seems to be CLOSED for business. I’m rather bummed. Although I have to say that the last time I went, my meal wasn’t as good as the previous times. I could tell there was a different chef/cook in the kitchen and it showed in the food. There is a new sign in the window that says«Coquito Cocina Puertorriqueña». I welcome a new PR restaurant. I just hope it’s up to par. Or, at least, can maintain the good pace it starts with.

Came on a Saturday night and thee place was almost empty and the service was extremely slow. Some of the food was ok. We started with the grilled calamaris which where tasteless. I ordered the grilled vegetable raviolis and they were OK. My boyfriend ordered the brisk raviolis and they where better. Believe or not they didn’t have bread. Really you go to an Italian restaurant and there is no bread? The worst part was toward the end. The server show us a new menu and asked if we wanted some dessert. We tried the turtle cheesecake and the @ $ 4 each. The desserts are HORRIBLE(tasted like Hershey chocolate syrup) The worst part is that when the server brought the bill. We had a Groupon and everything was included except the desserts. They charged $ 7 for each dessert and $ 5 for the cork fee. When I inquire about the prices of the dessert the server told us that it was his mistake and that the menu that he show us was not accurate. Regardless he didn’t even adjust the price. Overall the food is just OK but the way they are running the business is not the right one. Horrible customer service and ok food. I’m not planning to go again.

Five stars for Irving park fine Italian food. No pretensions, no wait; just great food. Went for dinner on a hot Saturday night in June. The menu is not too small and not huge. The kitchen was out of several dishes despite not being very busy. After we revised our appetiser selection and ordered our dinners the reasoning behind the shortened menu was clear, the kitchen uses fresh, quality ingredients and won’t push frozen, subpar food. Two ravioli dishes, baked pasta, brushetta, bolognese, and panne cotta; all fresh, well prepared delicious dishes. The restaurant could use better signage because it’s hard to spot even though we were walking from home four blocks away. I’ll be going back and hope more people discover this Italian gem and fill the dining room and their stomachs. I think there are groupons available as we were asked if we had one when we were sat.

I am a food snob & i thought that was one of the best italian meals i have had in chicago in years. Outside of place is nondescript and place was not busy on a sat nite(never a good sign) but manager was super-friendly and passionate about the wine i brought and the food, while not large portions, was excellent. BYOB is aways a plus as well. Prices were quite reasonable as well. Try the ravioli’s.

Meatball sliders, Potabella mushroom, raviolis, veggies, nutella flan, and sausage. Used a youSwoop and everything was tasty. Other Unilocal are outdated. Byob cordage fee a small bummer but I would come here again.

Unassuming and easy to miss from the outside, Amoremia Cucina is a gem tucked away on Kedzie. I found them through GroupOn and definitely will go back. One of my favorite things about eating here was the cozy and personal atmosphere. Given the small crowd though, I did think the service was pretty slow. If we weren’t there for a leisurely dinner, I would have been pretty anxious about not getting or food quick enough. It wasn’t hard for me to find something on the menu(veggie), and they also have vegan and gluten-free options. Seriously– thank you!!! Menus that are creative but still friendly to everyone give me that«Can’t we all just get along?» feeling. As Obama says, Yes, yes we can. Here’s what we got: Crostini — Tasty, and with 4(small) pieces it was a good size to enjoy but not fill up on. Portabella Napoletana– Oh. My. God. I’ve been a vegetarian for 13 years now, and I’ve never, EVER, had a mushroom taste this good. It was a slice of heaven on a plate with a flavor to make even the biggest meat lovers drool. My ONLY complaint was that it didn’t come with a side… by itself it’s a bit small for a meal. Not positive on my BF’s dish, but I know it wasn’t veal because I guilted him into not eating that.(I’m not preachy but veal… really… is especially fucking cruel.) He had some sort of meat dish though, and loved it. Sauteed Spinach– Too much watery balsamic, not great. I love spinach but wouldn’t get this again. Garlic bread– Good, standard garlic bread. Panna Cotta alla Nutella– Awesome! I love that a local chef makes their desserts, giving it a real Chicago neighborhood feel. This dessert is like a nutella flan and a perfect way to round out your meal. Oh, and our drinks? BYO to the BBBBBB. $ 5 corkage fee and we got to enjoy a fabulous bottle of wine without paying $ 50 for it. I love when I can spend more money on more and/or better dishes instead of wasting it all on highly marked-up booze. Writing this review makes me want to go back. Like, today.

Went here with a groupon to try out since its in our neighborhood. We ordered he portebello bruschetta. It was pretty good. I got the pasta with arriabiatta sauce. It was decent but not spicy as I had hoped. I got it with a side of meatballs. The meatballs were ok too. My bf got the eggplant parmigiana with a side of potatoes. He said his dish was okay and the potatoes were no good. The portions were pretty small for the prices they were charging. Was it because we had a groupon? The waiter was really nice though. He was attentive. I don’t think we’ll be back. It’s a shame because it’s close by our house.

I was excited to be going here for a lovely Saturday night dinner and I’m sad to say that I wont be coming back. First of all, the sign out front is barely visible. We drove by it three times before finding the place. I had the groupon and was prepared to pick from the items it includes(app, 2 courses, 2 sides) most of which were disappointing and i would never pay the price listed in the menu, if it were not for the groupon. We started with the Parma crostini, nothing to rave about. I could have made it at home. Four pieces of toasted bread with goat cheese, artichoke and parma for $ 7 on the menu – just crazy! I had the Parmigiana di Melanzane and that was not too bad. The eggplant was tasty but it was just so small and the angel hair spaghetti was overcooked and sticking together(not enough sauce). All in all, for the price it could have been better. Rex Italian in hardwood hts has some delicious eggplant parmigiana for only $ 8 and its twice the size. My hubby had the Portabella Napoletana and that was also good but very small. It was literally one large mushroom with a cup of roasted veggies for $ 13. looked more like an app to me. The most disappointing thing that we had that night was the meatball. I have to say these were the worst meatballs I have ever had. They were over seasoned and mushy. Overall, I really wanted to like this place because it has a nice ambiance, however after hearing people at another table return their seafood dish, I knew we whould not be coming back.

As with many others I went here with a groupon. We made reservations as the groupon recommended. When we walked in, at 7 on a Friday, we were one of 3 tables. The food was mediocre at best. Everything just screamed for some flavor. Without a groupon, given the amount of food, the prices are too high. 3 people at the table ordered garlic bread the waiter recommended we share and get another side, glad we didn’t the serving was appropriate for only one person. The turtle cheesecake was amazing but for the amount given I’d go somewhere else.

We bought a Groupon to this place because it is near our house, and we’re so glad we did! We were there early on a Friday night and it was pretty quiet, there were only a couple of other tables filled. The waitstaff was attentive but not intrusive, and the food was really tasty. We ordered the meatball appetizer, two kinds of ravioli(one with sausage, broccolini, and fontina cheese, and one with braised beef), and a tiramisu, and everything was fresh and delicious. We’ll definitely be coming back.

We came here because we had a groupon. We had the meatball appetizer and for main courses we had lasagna and fettuccine alfredo with spinach and Italian sausage. Everything was good and potions were decent. For dessert we had tiramisu and Panna Cotta alla Nutella. We didnt care for the tiramisu but the other dessert was fantastic. I would have liked to give more stars but we were a bit insulted by our server. He felt the need to remind us each and EVERYTIME we ordered something extra that it was NOT included with the groupon. He was a bit intrusive while we were dining but when it came to giving us the check he made us wait a considerable amount of time because a party of 10 came in and he needed to completely server them their water, open and pour their wine and then take their orders before he could give us our check.

Came here with my bf and we loved the convenience… only few minutes a way from my house. I was excited to try something in my neighborhood and happy to hear there was an Italian BYOB nearby. They do charge a corkage fee. Likes: Menu options — tapas style and vegetarian dishes. Ordered: Parmigiana di Melanzane(eggplant battered fried and baked with cheese over spaghetti and marinara sauce). It was delicious and filling. My bf ordered the Portabella Napoletana(mushroom with veges & herbs) and it was also delicious! WELOVED our choices. We also tried the mussels with marinara sauce and although it was good, it was just salty. My only complaint is that the bread is not fresh. I love Italian restaurants that serve warm freshly made bread with olive oil and parmesan cheese. Hopefully… maybe…wishful thinking that they will eventually do this. Will be back to support my neighborhood eateries.

Authentic excellent Italian food, wonderful service, and cozy ambience. We went there for Groupon. We ordered grilled calamari, meat ravioli, pasta with Aglio E Oglio sauce. All are very very good home style cooking with right portion. I enjoyed all food. As for dessert, we had a tiramisu. Tiramisu was different from ones I had before. It was okay. If you are looking for authentic Italian food with reasonable price(appetizers $ 6 – 10, past $ 6 – 8, meat & seafood dishes $ 10 – 15), BYOB, you should try eat here. I would love to go back there to try different dishes again.

We went here on Sat night with a group of 9 it was very good and BYOB our server Chris was excellent very attentive and helpful with the menu even though we had a large group and it was a full house. The Bolognese pasta was excellent as was the turtle cheese cake which we had to order more off, overall a very nice place with good relatively inexpensive entrees along with BYOB and a nice atmosphere. Will definitely go back

Excellent food. Excellent Service. My girlfriend and I were welcomed with warmth and treated with the true hospitality. Not only was the overall experience excellent, but the chef that prepared our meals came out afterwards and asked how it was and thoroughly explained how he prepares it. Then, to my surprise, the pastry chef came out and explained how she prepares her desserts. Not only will I return on a regular basis, I will tell as many of my friends and family about our experience. In my own slangish terms… the food was«flame » !!

An absolutely wonderful dining experience for me and my family! Warm ambience, friendly service, & fantastic food will keep me returning! This Owner & These Chefs obviously care about their restaurant, because they made us feel welcome and took care of us from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. We had a table of 6-so I got to try a lot ;) amazing Polpette & calamari(antipasto); Portabella Napolitana, ravioli-verdura alla griglia), & chicken Vesuvio(entrees); and of course the signature cheesecake & Panna cotta(dessert) made for an excellent ending to the meal! But I can’t forget the olive oil… Simple, smooth, and a perfect touch on the palette. Planning another visit… :) Can’t wait for more panna cotta!

Wonderful ambience and fantastic food! Chef Mo is very nice, greeted and chatted with us throughout the meal, and the décor was quite lovely and modern. The food was amazing! They have a different setup than one is used to in an Italian restaurant, where half the menu is tapas style and the other half is are full sized entrees. Everything was super fresh, and inventive. They have different kids of bruschetta, we chose one that had goat cheese with an artichoke covered in ham as a starter. Amazing, the flavors play off of each other. We also had a ravioli tapas, that was deliciously cheesy, three different kind of cheeses, and I would have been satisfied with just that. I had the lasagna, that what everyone should try first at an Italian place. It was delicious. Usually when you go to places you get a block piece of whatever has been sitting around all day just re heated, this one was cooked to perfection. It had its own dish that it was cooked in, covered in plenty of cheese and the pasta was of a perfect texture. We closed with the signature cheesecake, which made by their in house pastry chef, it was creamy, the exact right temperature, and perfect to end the meal. Its a welcome addition to an area thats up and coming. And totally reasonably priced. I so can’t wait to go back!
