A must everytime I go to a Sox game. Just a couple of blocks from the park. Small to the point menu.(Dogs, Polish, and Shrimp… THAT’S LITERALYIT!) Prices are great, $ 3.42 for a dog and fry is fantastic!

Went to a white sox game yesterday and of course had to stop here first, let’s be honest this place is way better than gene and judes, I only mention that because they get so much hype. 35th fries are crispy and hot, not soggy and overly salted like other places. The dog is good as well, but personally a hot dog is a hotdog. The fries are what make and break a hot dog place to me.

Its really hard to take these Unilocal reviews seriously. Like come on… people giving bad reviews because they say Vienna Beef makes a bad hot dog? Or because they like ketchup on their hot dogs? Or complaining that they don’t have a big enough menu… This is a hot dog stand. A Chicago style hot dog stand that serves depression style Vienna Beef hot dogs. You CANNOT get any better! This place has a small menu because they execute everything 100%. They even broke off and have other locations up north(Redhot Ranch). The burgers, the fries, the polishes, and even the shrimp… all excellent. Go hit an ATM, grab a $ 20 and head down there ASAP to get yourself a true taste of Chicago fast food.

Great location right next to the sox stadium, the fries are good and hand cut. The only issue is the dogs are okay. They’re good, don’t get me wrong, but they lack a certain taste to them. I would totally come back though.

July 28th2015 Me and my gf decided to do a hotdog hooping and we start at south side. 1st stop is reds. Vienna dogs has a bland taste on it. I give it a 3 for nice presentation and fries taste

Simple menu hot dog stand with counter seating. The same worker prepares the food and works the cash register. Today, a customer brought that to his attention. The worker(according to the tip jar, his name is Teddy) replied that he first prepares the order, then he washes his hands after handling the money. It’s difficult to imagine he washes his hands after every purchase. The other draw back is the manner in which the hot dog and fries are wrapped. The fries are placed inside the hot dog buns. It makes for a sloppy hot dog when removing the large amount of fries from in between the hot dog bun.

Good, quick service and food! Simple menu… Dog, Polish, Fries. LOVE the Fresh-Cut Fries… way better than In And Out Burger’s! Gotta also try their Italian Lemon Ice… during the spring and summer of course! Use to have good parking but not any longer.

This is simply the best short style Chicago hot dog you can get. And it’s paired with perfect fries. Our peoples proudest traditions of ketchup foofooery is strictly enforced. Bravo

Hotdogs are good just don’t understand why they don’t sell anything else besides hotdogs.

I have to say I never knew this place was here, the many times I have been to U.S. Cellular Field. And only discovered this place by chance, because of approaching the ballpark from a different angle. To be honest it was thirst that initially made walk in here. Once inside the smell of the hot dogs made me realize I was hungry, lol. They have a very simple menu, only serving hot dogs, polishes, fries and fried shrimp. After seeing this, I figured why not give them a try. I got the double dog and it was delicious, tasted much better than the dogs they sell inside the ballpark. And here they were much cheaper too, I could’ve gotten two of them and for less than it would’ve cost me at the ballpark. I’m actually looking forward to going to another game because I will definitely be stopping by here. And after finding out I can take them into the park with me, that is exactly what I’ll do.

The hot dog was ok. The fries were great. I would go there again if I was in the area but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get there.

I’ve been in Bridgeport my entire life and these are easily the best fries in the whole neighborhood and the best ones I’ve ever had. I walked in and a guy named Orlando who’s been there for a decade told me you’ve got to «really know how to blanch them». That’s when I knew this place was legit. 5/5, 100% now you know they take their food seriously

This place is fantastic in that they’re exactly what they bill themselves as — a tiny little hot dog stand that does one thing exceptionally well. Chicago dog and mound of fries for about $ 3.50? Sold! The locals know to walk down here before Sox games to avoid the bloated ballpark prices. We came here about four or five times during our last Chicago trip and were never disappointed. The fries they serve are honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. Crispy, creamy potato goodness. And yes, if you order ketchup on your dog you have to ring the bell and yell«Go Sox!». If you are an absolutely pathetic human being with no self-confidence whatsoever, you can ask for ketchup for your fries — they’ll hand you a squirt bottle and you can use that on your dog as you wallow in your self-pity. Sorry that they’re trying to have a little lighthearted fun.

Imagine a place that offers a hot dog and fries like Jean & Jude’s without the lines or overblown hype. That’s what you get here. The people are cool and the location is ideal to stop in there before and after the White Sox game!(hot dogs in the cell are overpriced and not very good — stop here instead). Highly recommend you eat the dog and fries right there on the spot. Don’t even try to order ketchup on your dog or they will ring the bell of shame(yes, it’s an actual bell). Awesome!!!

This is by no means a gourmet eating establishment, but it is perfect eating establishment, lying perfectly at the intersection of price, value, and authenticity of the venue(cooks, cashiers, general atmosphere and dilapidated south side patina), not to mention proximity to U.S. Cellular field, it’s the perfect place to stop before or after a game and have a hotdog as it was meant to be eaten– with no ketchup, and for way cheap. The fries that are liberally stuffed into every wrapped hot dog are such an amazing bonus. Also: try the double dog. There’s no good reason why merely adding one more hot dog to the bun transforms the taste… but it really does!

cheap(price) alternative to food at the cell. we usually buy a few dogs, bring them into the park and snicker at the people around us spending major $$ on ballpark hot dogs — with no fries — inevitably, someone will ask us if we got them at the park — NOPE, sorry dude, next time bring your own food. the hotdogs taste fine to me, the fries are good, but only when they are hot — cold fries are definitely not my cup of tea.

Great place to grab a dog if you want to save a few bucks on ballpark concessions by filling up here first. Dogs are decent, but the fresh-cut fries are amazing. Funny how all the negative reviews here are whining about the ketchup policy. Sorry, I don’t feel sorry for you. Ketchup on a hotdog(especially a Vienna beef dog) should be publicly shunned for the abomination it truly is!

Dumb ring the bell routine when you want ketchup. Cash only restaurant(who carries cash anymore?) Worst of all? Handling food without using gloves. I remarked to the guy«Oh you don’t wear gloves?» he replied«I wash my hands.» Is that even allowed according to food inspections in Chicago? Needless to say, that was my last time eating there.

Being right down the street from Cellular Field(and on a game day) this place was pretty full. Still, they were really fast to get our order and get us our food and out the door. The fresh cut fries were tasty and the hotdogs were good too. Prices were reasonable — 2 Double Dogs(including fries) and a coke for $ 10.75. FYI — if you order a hotdog with just ketchup(Cubby Special) there’s a lovely set of bells you’ve got to ring and then yell ‘Go Sox!‘ All in all though, it’s a decent little stand with good dogs and friendly fun staff. Service is good, prices are decent. I’d hit ‘em up again.

Wonderful. No-ketchup-on-hotdog militants that put you on blast for ordering a hot dog with ketchup. They have people do the walk of shame by ringing a loud bell on the wall near the register when anybody asks for ketchup on their hog dog. So that’s what I had to deal with because my nieces are 10 and under and enjoy ketchup. The whole thing is just silly and tired. Perhaps if the hot dogs were better, I wouldn’t find this annoying. But they were lacking. I ordered onions on my dog, yet I didn’t taste any. Apparently you have to tell them to go hard on ingredients if you want flavor to accompany these puny dogs. The fries were actually good though. One for the«plus» column. Average and annoying. Two adjectives which result in me thinking you kind of suck. Work on your food and stop relying on played out gimmicks, you dopes. I paid these fools with a reality check.

This was my first time eating @ 35th St. Red Hots and I cant say I was blown away. I had the hot dog and fries which was okay but definitely nothing to write home about. At first glance the portion size seemed really small but it was filling and for $ 3.50 I guess it was an ok size. The hot dog wasn’t that tasty and the fries seemed to be slightly under cooked. Plus the fries were stuck together and to the hot dog. Wasn’t a horrible experience but I probably will never eat there again.

I could really care less about the hot dogs and french fries here. It’s not that they’re not good it’s just there’s really no reason I would ever get them since I’ve had the fried shrimp! The fried shrimp are gorgeous! I will get a half a pound if it’s just me and a pound if I’m sharing. The shrimp are large, lightly breaded and cooked to perfection. They are peeled, deveined AND detailed! You couldn’t possibly ask for more. Although … I could ask for a little better cocktail/dipping sauce. The sauce they give is just okay(I get the spicy) but I could imagine a lot of better things to go with them. Hot Dogs and fries are decent but I I prefer other places in the neighborhood.

The proximity of this hot dog stand to Comiskey is undeniably excellent. I like stopping here for a dog and a drink on my way from Halsted to the stadium for a game. There’s also game day parking here for $ 2 cheaper than the Sox lots, so why not? Warning: they double park cars, so sometimes you have to wait for someone to drive away so you can get your car. Anyway, back to the food. It’s good food and cheap, so you can’t really go wrong. The menu is really, really small. They pretty much sell hot dogs, fries and Italian ice. If you’re looking for beef or anything else complicated, go down the street to O’Malley’s. The fries are hand cut right in the shop(you can watch) and they’re always served piping hot. There’s a few seats available, but it’s mostly take and go on game days. If you work across the street at TAMS(which I did for about five months), you’ll be here everyday because the pop is cheap and the food is tasty.
