The Sears at Chicago Ridge mall is a horrible store to spend your money. Avoid it! My senior citizen parents spent $ 2,600 on a queen size mattress set and $ 1,000 on a living room sofa on August 31, 2015. The store said the mattress couldn’t be delivered until September 8 and the sofa until September 16. That is a long time to wait. On September 8, the delivery men brought the WRONG mattress. When my dad called the store, the clerk told him that they could not pick up the wrong mattress and deliver the new one until September 16. Well, on September 16, the delivery men arrived at 8:45 pm to make the delivery. However, the delivery men DIDNOTHAVE the new mattress, only the sofa. When the delivery men tried to carry the new sofa, they dropped it twice on the ground on the front lawn. Then, the delivery men put the sofa back on the truck and LEFT without talking to my parents. Unbelievable! When my dad went to the Chicago Ridge Sears store, he was told that the delivery men claimed they could not get the sofa through the front door. THATWAS A LIE! I have carried numerous pieces of furniture through the front door of their home with no problem. As of today, September 17, my parents still DONOT have their new mattress or their new sofa. The store claims my elderly parents need to wait until Saturday, September 19, for delivery of the new mattress and sofa. However, today(September 17), my parents received their SEARS bill and they were charged for the new mattress, the WRONG mattress, and the new sofa! SEARS won’t deliver the right furniture in a timely manner, but they quickly want to give my parents the bill! When my dad tried to talk with a manager face to face at the SEARS store, a manager refused to be available. An assistant manager showed up and told my dad there was nothing that she could do. The store should be ashamed of offering mattresses on sale and then refusing to provide correct delivery in a timely manner. That is poor customer service! If you are looking to buy a new mattress or sofa, you are better off going anywhere else other than the SEARS Chicago Ridge location. I plan to share this story with everyone I know to make sure no one else gets ripped off!

What happen? Sears used to be the place to go for everything. The store is unorganized, we went to buy tools one time and literally the tools were split up in different section were they shouldn’t be. Our last trip the girl behind the cash register kept rolling her eyes as my husband tried to ask her where an item was. She also didn’t like to talk she kept using her head to point in the direction of where we should go.

DUMP. This place looks so unkempt and not very tidy. Clothes on the floor, things thrown haphazardly on end caps, jewelry all over the place in the accessories section. I was looking at the pretties and seemed like everything I picked up was either missing a stone, or an earring was missing. What happened to Sears over the years? I felt like I was at a church rummage sale when I was shopping here. I would rather go somewhere else that is cleaner, more tidy and spend a little more money.

I came here to look at/purchase some power tools. Not only are the(young) associates in this department incompetent, but lazy as well. I have to admit, the selection was poor, most of the shelves were empty. But I didn’t think calling other stores would be such a tremendous task and hassle. They were huffing and puffing, and the store wasn’t busy. I got fed up and just went off to other departments. By chance, maybe luck, I dropped in at the appliances department and started talking to a very nice(older) sales clerk, who went over to the power tools/hardware section and helped me, and explained certain things about their store and that department, and gave me some recommendations on the specific tools I was looking to buy. It took 2 minutes! Anyway, zero stars to the young associates in power tools/hardware. Five stars to the older gentleman in appliances! Thank you for doing your job and more! Unfortunately, I don’t recall his name at the moment… I’m also knocking down a star for having a poor selection.

The worst place to shop! On Mother’s day I went to buy a fridge early evening. Within minutes, I knew which fridge I wanted but it took at least 20 minutes of waiting to even purchase the merchandise. The sales associated called the manager 3x on the walk talkie and 2x on the intercom to get the manager to approve the sale. When the manager arrived, he did not even apologize for the wait and asked the sales associated for a cigeratte before approving the sale. When my fridge was finally delivered, there was a huge dent on the top of the fridge. They encouraged me to do an exchange so they brought up the damage fridge. In the process, they scratched my walls. Its been two weeks since I have heard from them, I have called and emailed several times but no one seems to know what to do. This was my first major appliance and I thought Sears was the place to go… NOWAY. I will not buy a appliance at Sears again. HomeDepot offers similar warrenties and responses to customers, unlike Sears!

This is where I am doing my Christmas shopping. I spent four hours at the mall yesterday looking for many things. I found everything that I was looking for in Sears in less than 20 minutes. The store is clean and very well organized. The lighting is great. The employees are all very professional and friendly. There is a great selection of everything from clothing to household goods to stuff that you need for your car. The store was not very crowded on a friday night. I was in and out. The prices were very reasonable. The clothing that I purchased was of good quality. I will definitely be shopping here more often.
