Plumb Square Builders did a terrific job constructing an addition to our 130-​year old house, and was consistently easy and pleasant to deal with. The work was high quality and it was done with great attention to detail as well as remarkable speed; all of our neighbors were stunned at how quickly it was finished. And everyone raves about the new room.
Gerry was always easily reachable and worked very hard to make sure that everything we wanted could be done within a budget that was reasonable for us. He was honest from the get-​go about potential costs and what our reasonable options were given the budget we had planned. He and the excellent architect that he worked with presented us with a variety of options and talked us through all of the relevant considerations. They had tremendous patience. When unexpected structural problems surfaced with our old house, they found sound ways to address those problems without letting costs skyrocket. Gerry was extremely organized and kept things moving along briskly, but always while listening to what we wanted. He accommodated our schedule, coming early in the mornings and later in the evenings to make it convenient for us. He always took our views and desires seriously, and was never dismissive. To boot, he and the others suggested many helpful things that we would never have thought about — for example, when they installed an HVAC system for the new room, Gerry or Kevin suggested adding an additional unit in our kitchen that would connect to that system. They also added additional insulation underneath our kitchen floor while they had access to this area. As a result, we had a warm downstairs all winter for the first time in the 14 years that we have lived here, and paid lower heating bills than we ever had in the past.

Kevin, who supervised the work on a daily basis, was extremely conscientious about minimizing any disturbance to us. He arranged things so that work crews would not be in our way during hours we were home, and he bent over backward to make sure that our convenience was prioritized, even when it didn’t matter to us. Kevin also noticed additional details that could be easily fixed if we wished, even though they were not part of our plan — for example, he noticed unmatched window moldings in our kitchen that could be easily replaced in part with moldings from windows that we were removing and in part with matching moldings he could easily secure. The landscaping that Gerry’s brother did in the backyard made our yard look better than it ever has before.
Every job that was done – construction, design, flooring, painting, roofing, installation of the heating and cooling system, adding insulation, landscaping, drainage, etc. – was extremely high quality. I would definitely use Plumb Square again, and they have my highest recommendation.
