Happy I finally went to see about my concerns. Gentle & warm sprint and actually really has studied the scalp. Have me a lesson about hair, scalp, blood cells, follicles and more. I will be going back and I can say I found me a hair? Scalp scientist. Thank you God.

Dr Harris is good at what he does!
Yet he has a very calm, approachable personality that puts you at ease immediately.
I went to see him about severe scarring issues which I was doubting ANYONE could fix.
He not only surgically brought me back to normal but was very supportive, albeit it a little bit strict, about me having follow up visits to make sure everything was healing ok.
The comfort level is not only with Dr. Harris, but his staff and the luxe Asian design theme of his office and waiting room immediately puts you at ease also. It is when I was sitting in this waiting room looking at a monitor slideshow of his work I realized that he has been featured in numerous magazines for his excellence.
I would recommend Dr. Harris to anyone.

I started seeing Dr. Harris in the fall of 2007, when I read about him in Essence magazine. I experienced some pretty noticeable hair loss, and after seeing several dermatologists, I wanted to see someone who had particular expertise in the skincare needs of people of color. Dr. Harris consulted with me about hair transplant surgery, answered all of my questions, and didn’t pressure me at all. It took me a year to decide to go ahead with the surgery, but he and his staff were always good about answering my questions as I came around to a decision.
I decided to undergo the procedure in the fall of 2008. It wasn’t scary at all, because everyone answered my questions with calm and experience. It’s been nine months, and my hair has grown in almost like a weed! I never thought I’d have a full hairline again, so when I saw my before pictures and my current photos, I was completely floored. Dr. Harris has helped to recreate the appearance I want for myself, and has continued to follow up with me and my progress.
So, the concise version of my rambling review:
— knowledgable and friendly staff
— expertise in skin care and cosmetological needs for everyone, including people of color
— hair replacement expertise (especially important for people with kinky hair — our follicles aren’t the same shape as people with straighter hair, so the surgical technique is different)
— beautiful, calm office with state of the art equipment
— conveniently located near the Friendship Heights metro station
— no pressure to upsell on goods or services (which always seems to happen at other places!)
I honestly can’t think of any cons at the moment… I encourage anyone looking for a cosmetic dermatologist to check out Dr. Harris.
