Just had a bowl of their cheeseburger soup with a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich. Oh my goodness — so good!!! A great $ 10.00 lunch!

This place is a little gem tucked into the back of a plaza in the center of Cheshire. It’s can be a little difficult to find but it’s worth the effort. I’ve been there about 10 times for lunch over the past 3 — 4 months and haven’t been disappointed. There’s always an interesting lunch special so it’s never the same old, same old. The food is great, the place is clean and the service is very good as well. It’s nice to go into a small family restaurant where you’re served by people who take pride in what they do.

The food is great quality, «real» fresh food. The reason why I gave it a 4 is because it didn’t «wow» me. It was a good sandwich, but not delicious. I would go back again.

I have been going to Michael’s for years now since it was taken over by the new owner after the horrendous«PEPPERS» that used to fill the same spot. I agree w/all other Unilocalers that this place is steep price wise, and sometimes the servings are not too huge. The breakfast is always good, I love their ham egg and cheese sandwiches, they grill the rolls and they are amazing. I have to say one of my favorite things about this place is their SOUP. O.M.G. it is AMAZING. No matter what soup of the day it is, it is always consistently great. I love their chili, and they make a great corn chowder. I usually order #14, provolone, prosuitto and basil– so delish. They have a website with their daily specials, and they also have a «brown bag» for $ 7.95 which is shown online as «Your choice of ham, turkey, salami, bologna or egg salad on a hard roll or wrap, with your choice of toppings & cheese. Served with small bag chips, cookie, can soda or bottled water & a pickle spear» not bad for the $. Overall, this place is pretty solid

The food tastes ok, but the servings are too small and the food doesn’t taste good enough to justify the high prices. Michaels is in a very convenient location, so its often the most logical place to go eat, but the choice is unfortunately always out of necessity. Never a first choice.

The food at Michael’s is amazing. Quality ingredients + a solid menu makes Michael’s the perfect spot for lunch. The only downside is that the coffee is not great and the ambiance isn’t as young or fun as the nearby cafés.

I grew up going here. I recently moved back and their sandwiches are still great if not better than I remember. Great people and fantastic food.

Awesome Fresh Made Soups! Full of flavor. Soups at other places in town need lots of salt and pepper but, these are right on! I have food allergies so, I am unable to try the sandwiches. Their salad are very large and good as well!

Difficult to review, best to get takeout from Here. I’ve never had a bad meal, but the(wife?) women that waits on you is rude and nasty. It’s too bad she’s there, because I would make this place a regular. Delicious salads, sandwiches, and breakfast. I’ve eaten in 4⁄5 times and she’s always there and always unpleasant.

I had the Reuben with corned beef. No complaints. Very tasty and well-constructed. I’ll probably never be in this town again, but if I am I’ll go back to Michael’s!

Wonderful breakfast and lunch, food is very fresh and prepared with an artisan flair. The only drawback is the woman at the front Not a friendly person, more like rude. I think she is in the wrong business because she doesn’t seem like she wants to wait on you If she was friendly or another person at front counter they would need more tables

Consistently tasty lunch specials, extra fast service. I usually go here for lunch but the couple times I’ve had breakfast there were great as well.

Great place for a quick but delicious lunch. Always busy at lunch time but you can always find a table. Customer service is horrible though. Phone wise the owners are short with you on the phone… when you come in they don’t even smile. I’ve been there often on my lunch break and they act like they’ve never seen me before. Other places, like Cheshire coffee next door, know my order the moment I walk in the door. Amazing food though if you don’t care about friendliness.

Had some job training near home today, so got to have lunch with the hubby on my break. We decided to check out Michael’s Deli. It had a comfortable, homey feel to it with a few tables for the lunch crowd. There are specials posted on their website everyday, so I already had an idea of what I wanted today. We shared the cheeseburger soup – chock full of ground beef and diced tomatoes that gave it a nice, hearty texture and flavor. I had the chicken caesar asiago wrap – not sure where the asiago was since it appeared to have american cheese, so the wrap was average, nothing special. Tom had the Junior’s favorite – grilled chicken, roasted red peppers, pesto mayo, provolone cheese and greens – very enjoyable! A nice place to stop instead of the usual lunch choices. Business was steady the entire time, which is always a good sign!

Ahh, the pitfalls of Unilocal– we miss these small neighborhood gems. I’ve lived in Cheshire for most of my life and had no clue it was here. They’re clearly not suffering for business. Lunch hour was PACKED. Most were in formal clothing, so I’m assuming people stop here for lunch break, and I don’t blame them! I ordered a pulled bbq chicken wrap. A great sauce, not overwhelming at all, and the fresh tomato and lettuce was a surprisingly good complement. The side potato salad also had some extra spice, and I really appreciated the twist. I gather they have a few specials everyday, and I’ll certainly be back for lunch.

This is the best breakfast in Cheshire. Although, most people have trouble finding this place or are not aware that they are open for breakfast, Michael’s breakfast specials can’t be beat. There are usually 4 or 5 specials daily or you can order the usual fare off the menu. Be prepared, the portions are large, but the food is always great and served quickly. If you are tired of the has-been«who’s who/come to chew» joint in the north end of town, give Michael’s a try. You will not be disappointed.
