Philly Cheesesteak Cafe

Solid sandwich, ordered cheesesteak all the way, peppers were very spicy overpowered the sandwich. Took a little long 10mins, and the music was awful, inappropriate rap music doesn’t fit the theme of the restaurant. Lady at the counter was polite and explained the menu. It has a long way to go to compare to Iggles in Virginia Beach.

It was my friends birthday and she said she wanted to pick up food from here. We went in and asked some questions about the menu which the guy at the counter explained. We ordered what we wanted and then waited. I had ordered one of the rainbow ice desserts they had since I used to get those when I was little. Only issue was he gave it to me first vs waiting to when my food was done. I had to keep making sure the ice didn’t spill out of its container since it was stuffed (which is a good thing) to the brim. We waited, and waited, and waited. I know local places don’t have as many people in the kitchen as chains do but it was a pretty long wait for fries, wings, a Philly cheesesteak, and some Philly cheesesteak fry.
We decided to take it back to the house and eat. My fries were ok but I did get a chance to eat a wing which was pretty good. Overall a decent experience.

the food taste great! I got the chicken philly and it has been the best one yet. Also, it is a well decorated restaurant for philly fans! Great business going on.

Just tried to place a delivery order. Aside from lazily taking my order, the girl waits til I’m done ordering to tell me they don’t deliver.

Delicious!!! Glad to have found a small business that reminds us why real food cooked by real people always tastes better than frozen food made by microwaves in franchises! The Philly Cheesesteak was huge and full of meat and cheese, the fries were seasoned perfectly. Definitely a new favorite!

I love, love, love a good Cheesesteak; and I always support local places when possible so I really wanted to like this place; so much so I gave it multiple chances. In general the people who work there seem more interested in listening to loud music, hanging out, and talking on there cell phones then taking your order. I felt on more then one occasion that I was bothering them by trying to place my order. After my order gets placed it takes way too long to get your food more then once it took over 30 minutes and after that the order was wrong. I could almost put up with all this if the Cheesesteak was really good; but usually its over cooked and over seasoned. Truth be told I can go across the street to Wawa and get one for half the price that taste just as good and only wait a few minutes. Give it a try if you want but you have been warned.

Got a chicken cheese steak, was good snd if I had extra cheese it would have been the bomb. 2^st time going will be going back soon.

I was in the area for the weekend and needed a food delivery. I called them and they didn’t have a delivery person available so the owner of the Establishment hand delivered my order. I have been to Philly and had their best. Their food is delicious and as close as it gets. I would recommend them to anyone!!!

Trying to eat lunch but it’s noisy with two different tv stations playing and a radio all on top of each other. You can’t have a decent conversation at your table or even place your order without talking over tv’s and radio. Customer service needs much improvement. This place could be nice place with proper management and not feel like your eating at a club.
Food is pretty good with proper management would be great. Been here twice now, first visit food was much better. Prices are reasonable. My recommendation is try it out but get it to go!

Customer service was good, you get a lot for your money but food was nasty. The Philly had no taste for real, i must of caught them on a bad day,.

I had high hopes for this place. I called to see if they delivered to my neighborhood and was really excited when they said they did. The attendant that took my order seemed as though she had never taken an order before, but I was told the food would be delivered in about 40 minutes. After a little over an hour of waiting, I called the restaurant just to check in and the staff said the driver had just left. Another 40 minutes later, I called back, but the restaurant was closed and nobody would answer the phone. The food never came. My best laid plans for some awesome philly steaks ended with a bowl of cereal. So much for this place.

The bad…
People at the counter aren’t helpful. We pointed at a picture on their menu, which is on a computer screen, and they had no idea what it was. The music is a little loud when I have to raise my voice to talk to someone right across the table.
The good…
Once the owner (from Philly) came and took our order… it made up for everything. It was a damn good cheesesteak.
I’ll definitely return.

Best cheesesteake in the seven cities. I’m from Philly and I’ve been here for 3 years and it’s the only place that knows how to make a sandwich. I had it to go so the drive home I was yelling hurry up traffic my car is smelling so good. When I got home and took the first bite. I was hooked.

Customer service needs some work. It’s a tad bit salty. I think my first time was my last time. But not a bad place… Customer service goes a long way.

I had the philly cheesesteak with everything on it. Other than being overly salted, it wasn’t bad. I was amazed on the amount of meat that was given. They really load it up. When you order ask for little or no salt then it would be perfect.

This place is wonderful. I had the Chip Kelly Fries they were soo good. I like them so much that I ordered the Chip Kelly Cheese Steak for lunch the day to take to work. The customer service was great, the owner came out to greet the customers and check if everything was good. I am from Philly and take my cheesesteaks seriously and usually can’t eat cheesesteaks outside of Philly. This was the best place I have tasted since moving to Virginia in 2002. The décor is representative of the city with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I would recommend this spot to anyone in the area. They have a great use of technology. Make sure you get a water ice it is really like back home and hits the spot. All they need next is to get cheese pretzels to go with the water ice.

Great cheesesteaks! Made fresh and to order. Generous amounts of meat and fixings. I was given a free sample of their Italian ice (also excellent) while I waited. Staff was very friendly. If you want a great cheesesteak I recommend going here.

The environment is not up to par at all. First walking into the door you had on of the employees taking selfies and not acknowledging the guest. Another young lady looked unpleased to be there while taking our orders. There was no visable menu in sight. They hand you sheets of paper with not alot of options. My girlfriend wanted one of their icewaters which on this sheet of paper they showed multiple options, but only had cherry. This was another killer.
After ordering the food another group of people come in and place an order but because they were from the area, they got their food before us. During this time. The unprofessional staff decideds to shoot their commerical and play music with vulgar language which is not for public consumption. By this time me and my fiancée was highly upset because we have yet to recieve our food.
When we finally did get our food, My fiancée and I came to an agreement that this would be the first and last time. We can get the same quality food at our local Zippy Mart.

I have lived in this neighborhood for 6 years now and this is the third or fourth restaurant to go in at this location. With Farm Fresh now closed, the only thing left in this plaza is a barber shop, nail salon, Chinese restaurant, dry cleaner, and Dominos.
This new place is pretty good. One of the gentlemen at the front told me that they are directly from Philly. I am from north-​central PA and am very critical of cheesesteak sandwiches.
I ordered a half sub… cheesesteak with provolone, grilled onions, bell peppers, lettuce, tomatoes and mayo for $ 5.00. The amount of meat you get is amazing! It was really good, tasted like I was back home. This is by far one of the better cheesesteaks outside of PA. However, the more I ate, the saltier it became. A little too heavy on the sodium. If you go here, ask for no salt.
Also had some fries. This took a while to come out, probably because they forgot. Nothing special about the fries. Just crinkle cut. Tasted like the frying oil needed to be changed.
The décor was decent. Total dedication to Philly. Left wall had the Flyers, right wall had Phillies, Eagles, and 76’ers. There was also a painting of the cityscape behind the register and a map of Philly.
The menu is on a computer monitor at the counter. The girl taking the order was also using it to play YouTube music videos. Kind of inconvenient for her to minimize the YouTube website and bring up the menu for customers. I recommend they create paper menus to go (easy to do by the way).
There are three tv screens in there, but the music was playing so you couldn’t hear the TVs. The girl at the «register» was using a tablet-​type device to take my order and swiped my card. She moved the mounted tablet so I could sign with my finger. Great use of technology!!!
All in all, this place is really good! Definite 4 stars. Would have gotten five if it there was less salt on the subs, fresh oil for frying the fries, and not having menus readily available. All of which are EASILY fixed. Hope this place stays longer than the rest!
