Not a fan, sushi tasted«ok». It routinely fell apart as we tried to grab each piece. Food was just ok overall. We expected better based on prior reviews. Too oily fried rice and the canned sweet carrots on the side really lowered the overall feel of what the kitchen was pumping out back there. Probably would not go back, at least not anytime soon.

Good sushi, good prices!!! I ordered sushi to go and was very pleased w how quick service was. They are a little heavy w the spicy mayo-type sauce on top of the sushi, but you can always scrap it off. I love spicy, but not a big fan of that topping. Might request without it next time. Try it out. I plan to go back and try something new.

As dirty and scary as this place looks from the outside its really not! Quite a gem for Cherokee. We were really happy to eat there. Food wasn’t amazing but pretty decent, once again– for Cherokee. There really wasn’t much to eat in this town but this is certainly a pretty solid option. PS the salad was nasty.

While small and quaint, the service was exceptional and the food was presented cooked perfectly and piping hot.

Teriyaki steak is very good. Sashimi worth every penny, 15 pieces of good meat for just $ 15

Décor needs an update, no comparison to Sylva location. Food is good, other then didnt care for the sweet carrots. Service was acceptable. Not an issue if in no hurry. We had only an hour before the movie began next door, so we were cutting it close. But would definitely go back.

My husband and I stopped my here to get some Sushi for we just love sushi. Well this is our experience. We stopped by here before we went on our movie date. Well, we walked in sat down. We order our teas. My husband if the sushi was fresh? She asked«Why do asked» My husband said” Ma’am that is your sushi bar and it looks fresh to me” The lady got this nasty attitude and said to my husband«There is no one here to fix that for you». «If you do not want it oh well». So guess what. We freaking got up and left. Left our teas right there on the table. I mean that is not a way to conduct business. They need to train the staff better and have a Susi Chef on hand. Then maybe we will go back.

A new restaurant in Cherokee? A new Sushi restaurant in Cherokee? Well, dang nabbit, I better get my sushi on!(They say«dang nabbit» in the South, don’t they?) Kobe Express, is a small new sushi and habachi restaurant. I do admit, it’s a bit concerning to eat at a sushi joint in a Native American town, although they have two Japanese sushi chefs slicing up the fish. Unfortunately, one day when we arrived for lunch, not one of the two sushi chefs were in, therefore sushi was not available. What? How does neither sushi chef show up to work? Basically that day, it was just a hibachi restaurant. Elsewhere we went… We’ve only had the sushi, soups, and appetizers the few times we went to Kobe. The prices are fair. The sushi is good enough. They do go heavy on their spicy mayo and sauces, so if you want otherwise, make sure you specify, or you may be disappointed. My favorite roll was the Paradise Roll, especially with the soy paper. Runners up after that would be the Volcano Roll and the Red Dragon Roll. Make sure with the Paradise Roll, and most definitely the Volcano Roll, that you ask for them to ease up on the sauces! Really any mention of sauce on the menu, you should tell them to take it easy.

I got the spicy tuna and Kobe sushi rolls and my husband got the habachi steak entrée. The food was exceptionally wonderful! It has the atmosphere of a fast food restaurant, but it is clean and the people are friendly. We will definitely be back!
