I really, really wanted to leave a good review for Davis, but the service they provide is just unacceptable. The staff at their office in Cheney is wonderful. You really feel like you’re a member of the family, which is something you won’t find at Comcast or centurylink. I pay about 80 dollars a month for 30MBPS down and 5MBPS up, which I need in order to work from home. During the day, my speeds are usually near 30MBPS, but during peek times you’re lucky to have 5MBPS download speed. Luckily, I do most of my bandwidth intensive projects during the day when my neighbors aren’t home using their internet, but I still feel like i’m being robbed paying $ 80 a month for service when I can’t utilize my speeds past 4PM. They currently outsource their customer service to a call center that is absolutely horrible. They are never able to troubleshoot connection issues, and when they can’t fix your issue they will tell you they’ve contacted Davis. Twice I was told a tech would contact me within 2 business days but I never got a phone call. When I contacted Davis directly they said they never received an email from the company that deals with their customer service. Supposedly Davis is in the process of changing their customer service provider. Living in the middle of no where, my options are limited and Davis is the only company that offers a package with 5MBPS upload speed. It’s unfortunate that they’re SO unreliable service wise, but I have no other service options. I hope they’re able to improve their network infrastructure soon so I can come back and leave a better review. TL:DR: Great people, awful service.

I’m leaving this positive review because people usually only leave reviews to complain. Based on previous experiences with cox, Comcast, Qwest, CenturyTel/Link and Cheney Cable, Cheney wins. Why? You call and an actual local person picks up the phone who can help you. No hold times. The service is priced fairly without tack on fees. My 10mbps internet(they go up to 20) is quoted at $ 49.95 a month. That’s the actual bill. No fees or taxes or anything. $ 49.95. Their installer was efficient, clean and polite and ONTIME.(gasp) Finally, the service has been very reliable. I’m a happy customer!

This is by far the worst internet service that I’ve ever had. in 6 months I have had multiple outages, one of them lasting for three days. This week, I’ve had at least one outage a day… sometimes for 10 minutes sometimes for hours. THANKFULLY, i don’t do much work from home. Their customer service knowledge is sub par. I can’t explain, without getting angry, the comical conversation that I had with the tech when I requested a cable box so that I could have HDMI connectivity. It was like they were clueless. If you have the choice, avoid Davis Communications. If you can’t, like me, then I’m sorry.
