This place has a very clean and tied together ambiance. It’s spacious with a wide range of seating. As for the coffee(iced latte to be more specific)… I’m not so sure I’m a fan just yet. It definitely wasn’t bad, and I definitely recommend trying it, but I’ve had better. It wasn’t strong enough or flavorful enough, and there was something strange about it that I can’t exactly put my finger on. I may or may not be back to try some other offerings.

Had a really tasty, casual luncheon get-together here a while back. I was mourning the loss of my favorite tea spot up in Haverhill(Leah Mae’s) and knew I wouldn’t find anything to fill the hole left behind. This place is far from that — it’s not kitschy or rustic or vintage or anything, but it’s clean, cool, and calm. The ambiance is relaxed and it’s definitely set up to encourage taking your time. This is a much comfier place to set up with a laptop and get some work done than your local Panera. The hot teas and pastries were excellent. I had a quiche and some soup(the soup was a bit too thick for my liking) that were also super tasty. I haven’t checked out the evening scene, but I’d really like to come back!

This place is awesome. My boyfriend and I have been coming here a lot more recently and I love everything I get everytime we stop in. Their vanilla tea is delightful, their soy lattes are delicious and the staff is very approachable and helpful. I’ve had a cinnamon raisin bagel here before and it was also really yummy! Service is fast and my order is always right! My boyfriend swears by their caramel lattes! We’ve been coming in to sit awhile and do homework and last Saturday we stayed for hours. Order coffee after coffee after coffee. Live music started setting up and we stayed to watch a couple songs. It’s pretty cool that they’re supports of local talent! We’re hooked now!

Very different from Riverwalk in Nashua. A sophisticated ambiance instead of bohemian. The coffee is excellent, even decorative designs in the steamed milk froth on lattes. All in all a very nice place.

The healthiest and freshest place to get a nice salad or wrap. I went there multiple times for lunch and loved the apple tuna as a wrap and salad. My order was made quickly and was delicious! I’m so glad there was more than just pizza in this town. The atmosphere was also great.

Let me start off with a slight disclaimer… I’m a sucker for a good latte! The Java room does not disappoint when it comes to the hot Carmel latte. The staff was very friendly and around 3 o’clock it was nice and peaceful! Perfect to chat with colleagues or work.

My first time here, on a whim. So delicious. I got the maple chai tea latte and bacon/egg/cheese sandwich in an English muffin. Can I please have seconds on both? Definitely coming back! Service was fast and friendly.

The Java Room feels like the kind of coffee shop where you can go sit and work or hang with friends for hours without a second look. The atmosphere is very friendly and local. Service was pleasant and fast. The coffee was very good and perfect for a long drive up to Maine. They even allow dogs at the outside tables. Great stop pretty close to 395 for a pit stop.

Muffins!!! Muffins!!! They are amazing! So many choices so little time. As we stood in line on Labor Day my husband and I slowly watched the stash of muffin variety decrease in size. Then a miracle happened! This employee came from the back of the establishment, the kitchen, and brought out tray after tray of hot steaming muffins! We bought 8 and delivered them to the neighbors. How can you go wrong with a sweet and sour and a chocolate chip muffin? Our neighbors couldn’t believe they were still hot! The Java coffee is strong and just what you need on a early morning to get motivated. We will be back! Thank you Java for making fresh home made muffins. There is nothing worse then prepackaged shipped muffins that don’t even soften when you microwave them. Java is our hero!

Nice enough place but not too comfy. I wish there were more comfy chairs. Also, I thought I saw images of beer on Unilocal, but was mistaken. If they have wine, some beer would be nice too. I didn’t like the fact that they have the straws out where people can just grab there own straws. If they want to do that, they should really keep it in a dispenser. I was grossed out. Not sure that I would make the trek back here, unless I was in the neighborhood. Overall regular coffee place with free internet and nice staff.

This is the coolest coffee shop in the area. They make great coffee, and I love the atmosphere. The piano/live music and the bar are added bonuses. There are two areas they could improve on however. The chairs aren’t very comfortable. Yes, there’s one couch near the door, but I would LOVE to see more comfy chairs/couches. The hard chairs don’t make me want to settle down and study there for hours… I can usually only stay there for one hour before my back is killing me from the chairs. Second, I really wish the hours could be extended on the weekdays. If they were open until 7/8, I could go after work and unwind. Instead, I’m only able to go on the weekends. Regardless, I really enjoy this place and it’s my ‘go to’ for catching up with my friends on a Saturday or Sunday morning.

high quality espresso drinks. Would’ve been 5 star if the baristas were more consistent in their craftsmanship. Sometimes they create a nice tight fern, other times its just a sloshed together espresso/foam drink. A great coffee house doesnt compromise on the details… huge seating area. Seems like a great place to come and chill with a laptop — unlike most starbucks which fill up and get cramped quickly. Blueberry muffin was dynamite. Quiche was very good too.

I have lived in chelmsford for awhile && just discovered this place. Had a quick visit with a few other people and it was great!. We got an iced chai latte, superfruit pomegranate iced tea, chocolate chip muffin and a chocolate layer cake with whipped cream. The staff were closing up, but allowed us to order and enjoy our desserts. I’ll be back!

Don’t let the strip mall location fool you. The Java Room would be right at home in Cambridge as far as the coffee is concerned. The atmosphere is nice too, considering the location. They even have a piano with live performances sometimes.

This doesn’t happen to me very often but it was kind of love at first sight with this place. From the outside it looks like your run-of-the-mill coffee shop, but once you step inside you’re greeted by a spacious room, orderly coffee bar with a nice selection of pastries, a little stage for musicians!, lots and lots of tables and comfortable seats, windows all around and natural lighting, and a wine/cocktail bar to boot. All of that and that’s not even the best part. The latte was — and I am not exaggerating — the best I’ve ever had. Not one of the best; THE best. And this is coming from someone who’s tried the crème de la crème in SF, LA, and NYC. I was in the area with family and we were looking for a place to grab coffee before doing the tourist thing for the day and feel so fortunate for finding this place on Unilocal. In fact, I don’t even know why I waited so long to write this review! I just wish we had this kind of place in the Bay Area. If I had to gripe about one thing it’d be that the baristas weren’t the friendliest, as in they did not greet us with a smile and weren’t helpful when we were reading their menu and took a few minutes to decide what to get. But I feel like that’s nit-picking. So five stars regardless. Will definitely return when and if I’m ever in the area again!

This is really a 3.5 star review. Java room gets a solid 4 stars for the atmosphere and amenities, but only 3 stars for coffee and service. The café itself is nicely decorated and very clean. It has a welcoming feel and the entryway isn’t cramped. There are plenty of tables and good wi-fi, and the live jazz on Saturdays makes for a great background while working or studying, and it’s not too loud for conversation. Java Room gets major points for all those aspects of the exprerience. However, the coffee is sub-par and the service is really lacking. As an example, when I was in most recently the staffer who prepared my drink was cold, distracted, and did not seem to know her way around an espresso machine. She couldn’t figure out how to get an americano into a travel cup without wasting a paper cup to do so. I raised a concern about how that was creating unnecessary waste and her manager overheard and had to come help her. She rang me up as if I was an inconvenience to her, and she clearly couldn’t wait to get back to her texting. I would have put up with her attitude(just like in any hip urban café) if the coffee was excellent. Alas, my americano was not good at all — very little taste and too acidic. Frustrating when I can get a drink down the road at Starbucks just the way it should be made — even though I’d rather give my money to a local business. Java Room needs to more thoroughly train its employees both in customer service as well as pulling espresso shots. All that being said, there are so few businesses like Java Room in the Metrowest area that I wouldn’t want to discourage you from coming here. Just skip the espresso of any kind and get hot tea or a smoothie instead.
