Have had the subs here a couple of times and enjoyed them, so we decided to try the pizza last weekend. What a disappointment. The clerk tried to charge us extra for switching one veggie for another, but the manager took care of it, but only because I said something. The pizza was a big, soggy, flavorless mess — barely any cheese or sauce on it. For the life of me we couldn’t figure out why it was completely soggy except to wonder if the veggies weren’t drained well after being rinsed before being added to the pie? Doubt we’ll ever order pizza here again.

Stopped in to order a pizza, decided to get yogurt. Not many flavors to choose from. Had to throw out my cup and start again after two flavors were all liquid. no whipped cream, empty & no hot fudge and many toppings empty too. Very dissappointed,

Pizza is pretty good. For a 19″ pizza, it doesn’t fall apart because it’s not stretched thin in the middle. This is the only Sal’s location that can understand what extra sauce/well done means! Sauce seems different than the other Sal’s locations too. Prices are great!

Waited on by someone who is trying to work the front and back. With gloves on, he was handling money and making pizzas. … And my slice was burnt because he forgot it. Not a very happy customer right now. Should have gotten a slice of pizza from market basket instead.

I was disappointed with the pizza I ordered recently from Sal’s– the oven needed cleaning, as burnt remnants clung to the crust. The large sandwich was not… large. Sal does a lot for the community, and that’s appreciated. But, food-wise, I think he might be living off his old reputation.

I ordered a large buffalo chicken pizza. There is an absurd amount of buffalo sauce, and barely any chicken :-(looks like about 1.5 tenders chopped up for a whole large pizza. Crust is always good though! Can’t say I’d be running back here…

We had 19 inch pie with mushrooms and extra cheese and it was excellent. The crust was excellent. I will definitely return.

The food is fine, I really like their wraps. But I’m giving a two star review because I wanted BBQ chicken pizza, the girl grabbed a slice to heat up and was ready to ring us out. I said, «oh, I actually wanted two slices.» The audacity of me — this is my lunch and dinner for tonight. She said, «do you know how big our slices are?» I said«yes.» She grabbed a second slice, brought it over to me, showed it to me, and said, «are you sure you want the second?» Listen. I already told you I know how big they are, I don’t need to be shown and asked again. I’m in the middle of moving, I can’t cook at home, just give me my pizza!

We were thrilled when Sals originally opened! Finally Chelmsford got good, north end style pizza! The only problem was due to overcrowding from SOMANYCUSTOMERS! I would have given Old Sals 5 stars! We used to get dinner there at least twice a week! Then, they remodeled… IMO pizza went down in quality. Despite insistence that they are now using«higher quality ingredients»,(go back to the cheap stuff, because it was better!) I still like it(four stars), but I want my «old Sals» pizza back! Then there is the price hike… I am now paying more, for a pizza that I like less… That cost you guys another star. :( We are still eating here, about once every two weeks and noticing that«overcrowding problem» is no longer there… Edit: Back up to four stars, due to price drop!

Excited to find a SALs near my job. Ended up throwing away my loyalty card after experiencing NOT one good visit. I will never return. Market Basket and area business will love me for sure. After asking around, my office shared similar stories of disgust. I added mine too. No wonder why we see so many Domino pizza boxes around, and no Sals(which is closer). Good riddens.

What is up with the service? Tons of employees working and they can’t get an order right? We have been there several times and each time, they have screwed up on our order or forgot something! INEFFICIENT! The employees have no personalities and look like they don’t want to be there. If you make a mistake on an order or if something is taking too long, apologize or offer something for free! Don’t just stand there. Unfortunately, my in-laws like this place, so we are there more than I want to be. If it were up to me, I’d take my money to Jimmy’s.

My boyfriend and I are new to the area and have already been here numerous times. The pizza slices are sold by the quarter, which includes two large pieces. We normally get two different types based on what looks delicious that’s on display and we swap so that we can try both types. So far, we haven’t repeated a topping(they have a ton of pre-made types) and we’ve been pleased with all of them! Especially delicious are their veggie pizzas — I’ve never seen such a great variety of veggie toppings — but their meat pizzas are good too, especially sweet chili chicken! We love to bring friends/family there when they visit.(It doesn’t hurt that there’s a froyo place in the same building, either!!!)

Slices were good. Salad was OK. Felt uncomfortable with staff working. Seemed to be bothering them that I was ordering, made me feel uncomfortable.

Slices are enormous and a good variety of flavors and they’re always ready to go. Good spot to go for a quick lunch.

I really enjoy Sal’s pizza. The thing I like about it the most is the sweeter sauce. At my elementary school, I think our pizza either came from Sal’s or another place like it, and that sweeter sauce is a bit harder to find. Yum.

When you just have to have a Turkey bacon sub, Sal’s is as good as anyplace. I should have gotten some hot peppers…

Okay. I decided to write corporate after my experience last month and to make a long story longer, I was contacted by Chuck who is in charge of Training and Development. His email was everything customer service is about. He apologized and offered me a $ 20 gift card to give them another try. I did accept the card since my boss still had a «hankering“for the BBQ chicken pizza. And a happy boss is well… happy! We had a meeting yesterday, so I decided to try it again. I ordered the BBQ Chicken and a pepperoni pizza. I was told 15 – 20 minutes(the usual for a pizza) and headed off to pick them up(I hate that they don’t have delivery). I got there and was waited on within a few minutes(still seemed a bit short staffed to me). I asked to please see the pizzas before I left and they were correct! YIPPEE! I gave them the $ 20 giftcard and owed another $ 10.50. Yes, all in all $ 30.50 for 2 pizzas but they are 19» and the slices are huge. Needless to say, the BBQ was the best I’ve had from here in the past 2+ yrs. I’ve been going. I will definietly go back, but I will also Unilocal if they do me wrong!

Pros: Great Pizza and really large slices Cons: Employees get confused many times with orders. You order chicken nuggets, they’ll give you chicken wings, this has happened twice to me. To the manager: Where do you get these knuckleheads from?

This place is another great work-day lunch destination in the area — they’re fast, with plenty of seating, inexpensive and tasty. They also make it a point to have a variety of pizzas ready around lunchtime, so you’re not limited to pepperoni and cheese with more cheese if you’re looking to pick up a quick slice. The pizza and calzones aren’t gourmet, but are well above average, and portions are HUGE — I can never finish them by myself! The crust tends towards thin, which is fine by me if it means I don’t have to ingest half a loaf of bread disguised as a slice of pizza. Not exactly a fine dining experience(yes, they have disposable plates and utensils), but a good no-fuss option for a quick lunch, or a couple beers and pizza with the boys/girls(yes, they also have beer!). And if you work/live in the area, how haven’t you had lunch here yet?
