i have a rare truck with a convertible top. was hard to find any shop willing to work on it. javier was up to the task. he did say they had never worked on one before so he asked to keep the truck for 2 days so they could take thier time and do it right. it looks great and was done when he said they would be. i will take any convertible i may own in the future to him. very professional and the shop is clean.

This is the greatest place to have you’re car upholstery done. The owner Javier is very professional and really makes sure you’re being taken care of. He’s informative and always makes sure the work is perfect. This is the only place I will ever take my car for upholstery. Thank Javier for my new interior. I love it:)

I had a new convertible top installed on my ’02 Miata. Extremely fair price. Excellent service. Work was completed in one day. I will always use Chatsworth Upholstery for any auto upholstery needs.

I have seen his work on classic cars and it is amazing (so four stars there).
However I had him replace the upholstery and foam on the drivers seat, of my 2001 Ford Ranger. While the fabric matched the passenger seat, it was tweed and itchy, so I can’t wear shorts while driving my Ranger. (The foam was so huge, my seat is now raised so a taller person could not drive my vehicle. I am 5’5) The passenger seat is a tweed pattern but not made of the same itchy material. While he had my Ranger overnight, I wanted him to see if the carpet would need replacing, because I had a leak in the suicide door, and my car sometimes smells musty so I was wondering if mold had formed underneath. He never checked, or gave me an estimate.
He did however ask if I wanted the armrest/​console cover replaced, and charged an outrageous price for it. Saying it cracked, and he needed to buy a replacement part. The replacement part, did not lock properly. So I feel I turned in a Truck with the armrest/​console part working and now have to press down hard in a certain spot in order for it to lock down properly.
(Recommend for seat upholstery, but check the quality of the fabric he is using to see if it matches).

Not a better upholstery shop in town. If you want it right and right the first time, this is your place to go. I have brought my last 2 show cars to them and have received the highest level of service and quality of work. Will continue to do business with them for many years to come and can not wait to bring my impala back in a couple months to have even more work done!

Absolutely amazing work. I took my 1966 Jaguar, which has been in the family for many years, to have my dashboard done. Not only did they do a flawless job, but they used a material that looks extremely close to the original. I would highly recommend these guys. Professional, fair and very talented.

Went here to get a quote on having the headliner panel of my sunroof reupholstered, and without blinking an eye the guy said $ 250.
Decided to keep on looking, removed the panel myself, took it to a different place and they reupholstered it for $ 85 flat.
These guys’ prices are not reasonable, unless you think putting new upholstery on a panel less than a square yard for $ 250 in reasonable.

I know the owner from way back when he worked at another company. He is the most eager to please person youy’ll ever come across and very reasonable priced. He did the inside of my convertible years ago, at the time I could not afford leather so he came up with an alternative for my budget which was most pleasing to the eye. The workmanship of anything he does is mind blowing. I will continue to use him and would send any friend or family member to this shop.

I waited a bit to write this review to make sure the work was legit, and 3 month later the sunroof they installed is working great with zero leaking. I was surprising my bf with a sunroof in his yaris hatchback. I left off a star because they lost a piece of the car and wasted about an hour of my life. They were totally nice and replaced the item AND washed my car as an I’m sorry, but my time is money ya know? Anyway the work was great. They even installed the car seat covers for cheap. If you are looking for an install to a moonroof or sunroof I’d use them.

I have gone to this shop for years to get top notch work done at reasonable prices.
The work that was done on the Muscle Truck was extremely exceptional.
Prior to coming to the shop this time I was not sure what patterns or design to go with so I asked Xavier to put his design skills to work!
He immediately began to make recommendations and suggestions on the color combinations and types of materials. I know he saw me smile as I was starting to imagine what he was explaining to me.
Once I noticed his passion for making this truck a work of functional art, I remembered why I came to this shop in the first place, I knew that I could just leave the work up to him… they would do a good job… a few days later he called and let me know my truck was ready.
The first thing I noticed was that every panel and piece of interior had been covered in suede or leather and with beautiful taste they piped and double stitched where needed on the design, «Needles» to say that the flow of the interior was bold and tastefully done. I didn’t have to say much to them as far as what I wanted and they nailed it just right.
I have had no problems with the interior and it’s been several months this time around.
As Garm B. put it… It’s hard to recommend shops for restoration and pride rides, but I feel confident that I can recommend Chatsworth Auto Upholstery to anyone and I know they will be satisfied with the work and dedication that the «Guys» out at «CAU» put into each car they do…
Last, it’s no wonder this shop has been around for 35 years and has grade «A» customers with restoration projects that consist of both, Custom and Original craftsmanship!

My car restorations and custom projects always include a trip to Chatsworth Auto Upholstery. I can always count on Xavier and his guys to do a perfect job, the first time. If there ever is a problem, he will do anything to make it right.
I don’t recommend very many vendors like this, but these guys are worth your time if you need auto upholstery done right.

My insurance (AAA) sent me to Chatsworth Auto Upholstery for a roof repair on my convertible a couple years ago.
They had to keep my car overnight for some reason.
First, even though a rental car was included in my insurance coverage, the owner (I think his name was Javier, but it’s been a couple years, so I’m not certain) hassled me over that. Why that was relevant to him, I never figured out.
They took approximately 2 days to finally repair my roof. When they did, I ended up having to take my car back 1 day later because they installed it improperly so the frost from that night’s chill seeped through.
When I took it back, they attempted to prove to me that the roof was fine by spraying a hose over it. This despite the fact that I showed them the exact spot where the seepage was on the INSIDE of the roof and also that it had dripped through and created a small puddle on the floor of my car.
After much back and fourth, the owner finally agreed to fix it properly.
I was again without my car for an evening, but the owner this time did not hassle me on the rental car (again covered by insurance, so it never should have been an issue in the first place), but he asked me to be sure to tell the insurance people that he had «taken care of me». I said if they got it fixed right, I would.
The next day, I returned and picked up my car. Everything seemed fine. About 1 week past with no additional problems, so I told the insurance company that they had «taken care of me» like I promised I would.
Unfortunately, about 2 more weeks later (total of 3 weeks), I started to notice little problems. Those problems have slowly grown worse, and while some of them may have occurred from normal use, I have been assured by others with similar cars that a few things are not normal
— the roof did not sit right in the boot when I put the top down
— the elastic straps on the inner lining are loose
— the main seam on the inner part of the roof was over stretched and as a result is slowly coming apart.
Now, it’s been a couple years and the roof is still on my car; it still keeps out the elements like it’s supposed to; and other than the roof not sitting properly in the boot when the top is down, no one notices the other cosmetic issues. BUT it was improperly installed again, and as a result, I will have the expense of having to replace it somewhere down the line even though that did not need to be the case.
As a result of the poor customer service and downright shoddy workmanship, I will NEVER go to Chatsworth Upholstery again, and I would recommend that you stay away as well.
