After waiting 45 minutes for a table, 15 of that trying to get a beer from the bar, we got seated. Then waited another 15 min for our server, after another 15, got a drink. …not happy, it was cold in there, the service was slow, yes they were busy, but call in some help!!! Our food was sub par, appetizers were cold. My prime rib was cold. not the best experience. And I’m not usually a complainer. I enjoy going out, but I like to get my food warm at the very least.

Drove all the way out there Saturday night hoping to have a great meal. Come to find out they don’t take credit card. There wasn’t an ATM for 10 miles. Ended up going to a different place. Their loss!

If I had a complaint it would be that there is no signage to get you to this place that should be the main reason people not from the area would come here in the first place! That being said, I ordered the ribs and they were some of the best I’ve every had. The place was clean and nice and our server was friendly. Good selection of beers on tap. I would definitely come here again!

I’ve been here in the past and always remembered good barbecue; we decided to check it out again on a recent trip up north. If I was able I would give Chase Creek 3.5 stars; I had a BBQ sampler with chicken, ribs and pulled pork and my wife had the open face pulled pork sandwich(came on Texas toast with cheese and green peppers and onions. The ribs were smokey and tasty but had too much sauce, and the chicken was perfect; crispy skin, juicy inside and saucy. However, both my wife and I disliked the pulled pork. It was stringy and had a heavy, rope like texture; the meat was not seasoned nicely and just tasted like pork fat, nothing else. It was not something I’d ever order again– my wife ate some of hers, I couldn’t stomach mine. The corn muffin and cole slaw was tasty, and the French fires were also fine! They had a nice selection of beers and the place is nice looking and clean. Our server was also prompt and professional– if only that pork would’ve been good, it would have been a 4 star experience!

Great atmosphere. Stopped by for lunch on a Saturday and are at the bar(loved the bar trays!) Would for sure come back to eat and enjoy a beverage on the patio, or hang by the fire pit. The pulled pork signature sandwich was good. Added a pretzel bun because, why not? But honestly didn’t need it. Stole my husbands corn muffin from sampler platter and it was great too! Will be back. Maybe on snowmobile!

If you’re following a friends directions you’ll begin to think you’ve been pranked. «Yeah, just follow the highway until you come to the haunted antique store. Then turn down the narrow lane. It’s just up the road a piece … about the sound of a car horn.» The parking lot likely will be full. My wife had the pulled pork quesadilla and said they were the best she ever had. I had the sampler of ribs, chicken and pulled pork, and it was excellent. We split French fried ice cream and it too was fantastic. It may feel like your driving to Deliverance, but they’re pretty friendly once you get there.

The BBQ was good but not exciting. I would say for BBQ at lunch time hours with only chips and a pickle the cost was more than I would pay. We are just traveling through. I would imagine the place is a decent gathering place for bikers and weekend fun.

Very remote location that you almost lose hope and start to wonder if it was a good choice to get out of the highway for it… at a point you feel like their credibility is at risk but WHOAA! This place has some of the best ribs I ever had… It is one of my favorites, please stop over, the detour is worth the time & the food is just awesome!!!

4.5 stars! Yummies! They serve you a knife with the ribs(as if you would need it). The ribs have a nice smoke ring, sauced up and down. Not a clean finger or face to be had. The steaks are great cuts of meat, flavorful and perfectly grilled. Baked beans, yes please! Rich, smokey, sweet and packed with pieces of smoked pork. And as we were leaving a rainbow. Literally.

I’ve been here several times even before the fire and have always enjoyed it. However disappointed in ownership, only 2 girls waiting on the bar and restaurant. Seems like they could use a little more help. Still waiting for my bill!

Best BBQ I’ve ever eaten in michigan. All three of our boys are devouring the Alfredo and pulled pork. We split ribs, Alfredo pork combo, and sliders. Watch out for the fan!

This a place you have to know about and seek out. You will miss it if you don’t know it’s there. However, this is an amazing place to eat. I don’t often order steak but will for sure order one here more often than not. They have a large selection of food and it is all amazing. The tables are great big wooden log furniture. The ceiling fan is huge, and it turns. We had to wait when we came on a weekend but the wait was short. The bar has a great selection as well. This is an awesome destination for a motorcycle ride or snowmobile ride.

Hey gang – tried the smokehouse this afternoon per the recommendations of some buddies at the hunting lodge and left really impressed. Definitely the best restaurant in the area. We started with the Hot pretzel breadsticks that comes with a nice semi — sweet horse radish sauce. We also ordered ribs, barbecue chicken, pulled pork, the deep-fried corn on the cob, sweet potato fries and along with our meals came the coleslaw and baked beans. The ribs were very well prepared with I would say a little too much sauce but still I ate half and I’m looking forward to finishing the rest that are waiting for me in my refrigerator in a few minutes here. Pulled pork was nice but again I would say slightly over –sauced. Barbecue chicken was good the coleslaw was tasty and the baked beans probably received the highest marks at our table. I should also mention the cornbread which is served with butter was very good as well but the butter had clearly just come out of the refrigerator so I had to do that trick where you cut the corn bread in half and create a little warming pocket for it so it softens up inside your muffin. It worked. The deep-fried corn on the cob was kind of soggy and I don’t think it was a regular menu item today and wondering if they were just having an off day. The sweet potato fries were typical as you would expect to get anywhere else. Service was fine and the atmosphere had a separate bar area and then a large dining room with wood paneling. I will definitely be back when I’m up hunting or in the area and I’m off now to finish my ribs… I’ll give this place 4-stars for a solid experience and being a great improvement in the area over other dining choices.

Been here several times and have had ok experiences but seems like something changed or I’m ordering things they don’t do well. No great homemade dressings here. in fact I think they are all low fat and bottled. Also, dinner special came with green beans just dumped out of a frozen bag and steamed… no flavor, no butter even, no chef-inspired creativity of any kind. Homemade bread is decent. Wait staff was efficient. Wish I could say, «I can’t wait to come back» but it’s going to be a while. C’mon guys… you can do better.

Thank you Unilocalers… never would have found it without you. In fact, the place had NOSIGN but the pictures convinced us it was the place. Service was good. We shared an order of ribs for lunch. The ribs were decent(we have had better) but they were good. The beans and cornbread were both excellent. the slaw was just ok. Price was fair($ 21 for full rack, slaw, corn muffin and baked beans.)

It may have been closed but it is open and roaring now. Friends in the Ludington area so highly praised this we were convinced to try it on our way home and we are so glad we did. Staff was enthusiastic and well-informed about the menu. We had a lunch special– a bucket w/BBQ wings, a portion of BBQ ribs, deep-fried corn-on-the-cob(!) and french fries. We shared also a pulled-pork sandwich. The cost was modest, the quality superb, the surroundings impressive. I spoke with the owner on our way out and that was an additional pleasure, a witty and effusive man. The wine list was also very good and affordable. This is a treat worth seeking out.

This is the new incarnation of the original Chase Creek Smokehouse. The original that most people so fondly remember burned to the ground the week of 4÷23÷12. — - –Great meal and generous portions. Waitstaff was friendly and courteous. We had the ribs and chicken BBQ combo that came with coleslaw, baked beans and cornbread muffin. The pretzel bread sticks and horseradish sauce were excellent as was the side of roasted asparagus in butter sauce.

Great ribs and pulled pork. A favorite destination for snowmobilers and bikers. Located just off 10 between Reed City and Baldwin. When going through Chase, head south on Depot St. by the«Antique Store». You will soon see the Chase Creek Smoke House. The Pulled Pork Sandwich is great. It is a cool log cabin type bar with the biggest ceiling fan I have ever seen.
