Dumplings were good. They were only available fried, which i found disappointing. We also tried the peanut noodles and pork bun and didn’t like them. Overall, it was ok, but nothing to drive out of the way for.

I brought my family here, trying one of the most popular food in town. That night, my father said, I know why you complain about food. Those are not even dumplings. Well, dad, you got to adapt to it…

Marco & Luca’s is a staple. Whether for lunch, dinner, or late-night, it always hits the spot! The dumplings are garnished with their signature dumpling sauce, and are sooo delicious. Couple that with the mere few dollars to get an order of 6, and you have me satisfied for several reasons. Their sesame noodles are awesome as well, as are the pork buns. I usually get 1 order of dumplings and 1 order of sesame noodles. If you tend to eat more, perhap 2 orders of dumplings and 1 sesame noodle would do. Heck, get 5 orders of everything! There is not much to lose(besides weight) for the price. So the food might not be authentic Chinese, but it’s a dumpling shop, and they definitely do it well!

I’ve been coming here since my VCU/UVA friends dragged me over from Richmond. Since then, I’ve eaten here and their downtown location numerous times. Every time I’ve had consistently good service and dumplings. It’s an extremely affordable option for a quick lunch/dinner and easy to share with friends. I’ve ordered 1 of everything from their menu and have found that I enjoy the dumplings, the sweet/spicy noodles, and the sesame noodles. If you like peanut sauce and cucumbers, order the sesame noodles, or if you’re adventurous and enjoy sweet and spicy sauce with apple slices go for the sweet/spicy noodles. If you’re just in the mood for dumplings buy 2 orders, they are addicting!

I think pretty much everyone at UVA has gone to Marco and Luca at least once in their lives. Open late-night for good reason, their dumplings are really good and well priced. Everything on the menu is more or less $ 3.50 and an order of dumplings comes with six dumplings. The sesame noodles are a great side to have with the dumplings, and I prefer it over the spicy noodles. They also serve pork buns which are pretty good too. I will say though that the workers there are also reeaaaaallly patient with their customers, because I remember one night where this drunken idiot was giving the cook a lot of shit and he just shook it off and served him his dumplings. Great place for munchies, late-night cravings, drunken outings, or all three.

Drop dead delicious dumplings. (especially with that signature Marco & Luca sauce! I can just drink that sauce & be content with life). 6 dumplings for $ 3.50 …great for sobering up or if you just want a quick bite. Everything is served in a to-go container. Dumplings were fried when order and wait time was roughly 5 minutes. They also offer various other small bites too such as pork buns, noodles, etc. Store is small and quaint, but smells and feels too stuffy to be in there for a long period of time.

Great place for a quick and casual bite with flavorful dumplings. The dumplings are prepped ahead of time but fried to order, which keeps them crispy on the outside and warm and gooey inside. The dumplings were definitely on of the best ones I’ve had, granted it’s no frills(pork, leek and ginger without any other varieties). The pork bun had silky soft dough and, despite what others felt, I thought it had plenty of pork inside. The sauce inside adds a nice kick if you’re a fan of a little spice. The only reason I dinged a star was for price. A number of reviewers felt it was cheap– I would say reasonably so but for $ 6 – 7, 6 dumplings and a pork bun is an adequate meal for me but probably not for most.

Definitely a favorite among UVA students! This place is cheap, convenient, and so delicious! And that’s all you could really ask for. This place is just as good as I remember it being from back when I went to school here. My friends and I used to frequent both this location and the one in the Downtown Mall. The service is fast, and the food is cheap but really good. I’ve missed this place!

A classic UVA late night spot that even tastes delicious cold sober. I’m not from Charlottesville and didn’t go to UVA. Everyone down here raves about this dumpling place, and after being asked for the 564th time if I’ve been here, I finally made the trip to Marco & Luca Dumpling Store to see what all the hub-bub was about. I totally get it now you guys. This is a small, unassuming restaurant with delicious food. My girlfriend and I got two orders of the dumplings and an order of the steamed pork bun. The dumplings are deep-fried and topped with a spicy soy sauce. Just fantastic — the soy sauce I could drink out of the bottle. The dumplings had a crunchy outside and a hot inside. The pork bun was interesting — the dough was light, soft, and fluffy, with a liquid interior of bits of pork and that soy sauce. I was a little disappointed there wasn’t more pork, but the dough really soaks up the sauce and more than made up for it. All-in-all, the great taste of the food coupled with the really low prices($ 3.50 for six dumplings and something like $ 4 for the steamed pork bun) makes this place worthy of a five star review.

If you want quick, cheap, and simply delicious food that satisfies your dumpling/noodles/soup craving, this is your place. Don’t expect anything to be OMG amaze balls but for the price you pay and the time you wait, pretty damn good. I’m a fan of the dumplings and the sesame noodles.
