Levy’s of Charlottesville

I love this place. I stopped in today to grab a dress for weddings this summer, and walked out with 3 dresses, all on serious markdown. Brands include Kay Unger, Shoshanna, Milly, Trina Turk, Tory Burch and Kate Spade. Great selection, and wonderful sale items.
Beyond the great selection of choices, the woman helping me in the store must have brought me 30 dresses, almost all of which looked fabulous. She had a great eye and was very helpful. When I settled on my dresses, she even weighed in on what accessories would make the outfits work for the ensemble (and wasn’t trying to push anything in the store) What a wonderful experience.

Levy’s has been around forever. I think it is3rd or 4^th generation, but they have managed to keep up with the times and cater to every age group — UVA girls getting frocks for formals to stylish seniors — and plenty for those of us in between.
Love their Lafayette Trunk Shows — I can get half a season’s styles together in an afternoon! They also have DVF and Trina Turk, my two favorite designers.
Prices are about the same as the department stores in Richmond, but I always shop local whenever possible.
Diane is so great as helping me out — outfits you could never put together shopping online, and she always has such great suggestions.
Too bad they don’t have shoes, but just a few doors down from Scarpa — Cville footwear queens!

I walked into Levy’s stressed out and totally convinced that I was on a fruitless mission to find a non existent dress. Within 10 minutes I was in a fitting room with at least 7 dresses that were all awesome. I now have the perfect little black dress. Next time I need an outfit for any occasion I’ll go to Levy’s first!
