Amazing food, great service, excellent price. I love this place. Seatings are limited, but other than that it was awesome. Sushi is very fresh and they give you a ton of food when you order hibachi. Definitely coming back here again and again!

Another great Hibachi restaurant! You get the bang for your buck! Large servings, affordable and the kids go home with stuffed bellies! Staff, very accommodating, kind, just wish they had a bigger space, because it does get busy if you are doing a Friday night family dinner.

The first time I came for lunch was great, but my more recent visit was all off — order was wrong, the fish didn’t taste fresh, service was poor… I hope it was just an off day, but it didn’t make me want to come back!

Kabuto is my favorite Sushi restaurant in Charlottesville. I eat sashimi here a few days a week and the fresh fish, presentation and wonderful staff will not disappoint. The teppanyaki and sushi roll lunch specials are a delicious all over your face bargain. Go eat!

Nice, small place that offers many delicious dishes. Plenty of sushi, sashimi, and hibachi dishes, but no tempura or noodle(ramen) selections. This moderate priced place is worth occasional, not frequent visiting, unless you have semi-deep pocket.

Kabuto is one of my favorite restaurants in C’ville. You can not beat the lunch specials and dinner portions are large. I’m a huge fan of anything Hibachi but my two favorites are salmon and steak. Sushi is very fresh and delicious. I am always greeted with a smile and service is excellent. I highly recommend anyone who enjoys Japanese, Asian cuisine that you try Kabuto immediately.

By far the best sushi in cville!!! I suggest trying out the creamy crunchy crab roll and the spicy yellowtail roll! The price is fantastic(usually spend around $ 30 for two people and don’t eat everything) the service is amazing. They always remember me and are on top of everything. They are never not smiling. I love it here.

This place didn’t give me a great experience from the beginning. I’m moving houses and amidst all of the chaos and stuff everywhere, I misplaced my keys so I decided to order delivery. This place had great reviews and the food sounded pretty appealing. It clearly states on Unilocal,«delivery: yes», plus a big sign on their website that says«Free Delivery(within 5 miles, I’m about .08 miles away). I called, and the conversation with the man on the phone was less than apathetic. I started off with«can I place an order for DELIVERY» and he said«what can I get you?» so I listed off my order, and he said«Okay, 15 minutes.» I confirmed that it was for delivery, and he said«Yes, bye.» *click*. Without getting an address, name, or payment information. I called back, and had to talk to two different people before finding out«ohh, we don’t even do delivery.» I got a measly apology and hung up. So now, with no keys and no delivery, I can’t even find out if the food is alright.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in C’Ville! The staff is incredible, always friendly, and don’t take long to memorize your entire order! The food is delicious and excellently priced; the sushi and hibachi are both incredible! We’ve only had our order entirely come out wrong once. The staff more than made up for the debacle by giving us all of the food in the incorrect order, remaking the correct order for us, and discounting the meal! It’s a little bit out of the way, but I know you’ll love it as much as I do!

I was slightly disappointed by the sushi here considering its rated 4.5 stars. Don’t get me wrong, the sushi wasn’t bad it was just very mediocre. We came here around Starters: I got the seafood salad and my friend got the Kani salad. Both were pretty good, per usual. Rolls: we shared the Manhattan roll(shrimp tempura with eel and avocado on top) and butterfly roll. Both were good but not amazing. I’d still prefer kuma or kokoro. They’re slightly more expensive but give larger(tastier) portions. Service was great and nice, cozy interior.

Finally a reasonably priced and delicious sushi place in Charlottesville. This place is located in a strip mall, but don’t let that fool you — the food is great. We went for lunch on a Wednesday around noon, and it was packed. The service was quick and efficient, and we both enjoyed our meals. They offer a couple of lunch specials, and I had the two-roll special that is served with miso soup. The shrimp tempura roll was a particular standout.

Freshest sushi I have had in town thus far, besides Ten. But this is half the price of Ten and a lot more convenient. I’ve been about 4 – 5 times and the food and service has been excellent every time. Very reasonably priced. Ambiance is definitely lacking… I wouldn’t take a first date here. But then of course I really don’t mind the décor.

I don’t know much about sushi so I went there with a group of friends. They have amazingly great service; my friends and I were asking question non-stop, and the lady was answering them one by one in detail. After she made sure we know what we want, we started with miso soup which was decent. Then we moved on to white dragen, smoked salmon, and some sashimi. Don’t forget to ask for pen and paper to order your sushi as they forgot to give us one. Then for entrée, we all went for steak and shrimp which were very well prepared and tasty. At the end, we ended up paying around $ 30 each, which compare to most sushi places was a decent price.

After reading the reviews, went out of our way to track this place down for some sushi. We passed several other well-reviewed restaurants along the way and later rued that we were so-hell bent on finding this strip mall sushi joint. Ordered a pot of green tea and it was primarily hot water. Even after 20+ minutes of steeping, the tea possessed no true flavor. We ordered the spicy tuna roll, California roll and a sushi combo. It was strange because it was seemingly ready cut. Came out surprisingly fast and had a room temperature, rubbery quality that silently tattled on this place. Our server was nice enough and refilled our waters but the food, the tea and even the Pepsi were decidedly unimpressive. Not sure who gave this place such high marks in the past but I dare say this sushi establishment has gone down hill. Very disappointed. The restroom cleanliness was ok — just for the record.

This is a tough one because yes the food was good and relatively cheap in regards to sushi, but that is because the rolls are small. I ordered an appetizer and 4 x rolls(two special and two regular) and I left not full but satisfied. There is no reason why I should plop down $ 42(no drink) and not have something to take home lol. This isn’t your traditional hibachi sit around the grill type place. Service was good all around. I’d recommend just stick to the cheap rolls which as I said are good too, but the special rolls aren’t worth the extra $ 4 – 6.

Sushi was slightly above mediocre. Fried oysters are not good. The beef carpaccio is also not good. Frankly the best part was the house salad. Would not recommend as there must be better sushi around.

Looks completely are deceiving. Non descript place in a strip mall. Not much space, but great Sushi and wonderful service. Very nice staff. Had the Sashimi Deluxe and it was wonderful!

Awesome. Ridiculous. Omg. Wish I lived here. Crab Rangoon and Beef Tatati perfect. Crispy and savory, respectively. Hibachi. Cooked in back but who cares? Salmon, Chicken, Shrimp, Steak all cooked to perfection(well done steak was juicy!). Fried rice was great. Not oily. Veggies were crispy and in delicious sauce. Whole family hates carrots but we all could not stop eating them. Like infused with honey on one side and saturated thru to the other side. Beautiful teapot and cup added to atmosphere. Small, 5 booths; 3 tables; and some bar stools. But wow! I wished they opened a store by me. A gastronomical delight.
