Great bar! Good music! Smiling, friendly faces! The head-ier bar in Charlotte. Great place to catch love music. Stiff drinks, too. They have artists set up too, which gives the place a nice vibe.

A nice venue. One complaint, very small underpowered PA. Get a better sound system. A of club speakers and a sub doesn’t cut it for a live music venue.

My GIRLFRIEND(emphasis on GIRL because there weren’t very many, think: Ug-Sausage– Fest) and I decided to attend a show at The Rabbit Hole last night for our first time. We arrived shortly after 10pm and heard the last band playing, which I believed would perform for 1 – 1.5 hours. Upon arrival but before paying our hard earned $ 30.00 admission fee I asked the door cashier” how long has the band been playing?”, and was told“20 minutes”. So my friend and I decided to pay the cover, go inside, purchase drinks and enjoy the show. BUTTHESHOWENDEDWITHIN15MINUTES! I immediately approached the cashier and manager to request ½ of our admission fee returned because we had been deceived and lied to about how long the band had been playing. The manager was rude, condescending and refused my request. He basically stated I should have known when the last band would start(though there were 3 total bands, as if I’m a mindreader) and I should have known when the show would end before we paid. The manager wearing his unkept fecal-beard, which he stroked the entire time we exchanged words was a poor excuse for management. He also reported to me that his company is based out of Greensborough, so this club isn’t even local. This corporate club certainly does not know how to treat locals and merely wanted to greedily steal my money. I told the fecal-bearded manager this would be my first time and my last time visiting his club. I won’t support this place in MY neighborhood! Basically… The Rabbit Hole is terrible. The previous club in this same location named: Volume Lounge was terrible, which was why it closed. The sound system sounded like it was purchased from a flea market. The best thing about this club was the granite coke bar in the bathroom. The club is so desperate to book«local» bands they book 60 year old guys who roll around on the floor shirtless and sling sweat all over you. Enjoy the show…

Walked in. Had several drinks. After 1 hour and a half a guy came up and said you didn’t pay cover, $ 10 or get out. No one there when I walked in. Totally humiliated and embarassed at the asshole treatment. Closed tab and left after sitting over an hour a bar. Crap piss poor treatment. No one should go. Definitely a place to avoid based on the way I was treated.

Awesome new venue from the management of The Roux that has taken over what was once the Volume Lounge. What a great addition to the Plaza Midwood area. I’ve always thought this location had promise even though I never had a great time at Volume. Now that they have people running it who understand the current music scene I see great promise for this place. The fact that they understand what good beer is makes this place rock! Hop Drop and Roll, Lagunita’s IPA, and Sierra Nevada just to name a few. As soon as you walk through the entrance you see the stage to the right and a nice sized dance floor ahead of you. With a long bar going down the left side of the main area, there is plenty of room to service any drinker’s needs. The main room has an awesome sound system, good lights, and plenty of seating throughout. I think they even extended the stage a little bit from what I remember, which was well needed. The second room is what makes this place stand out. You can still hear the music fine, but there are all kinds of other distractions. A pool table, foosball table, skeeball, basketball, all kinds of fun to be had. I just hope they get a quarter machine some day so people don’t have to bother the bar. The night I went people were selling all kinds of hippie clothing, art, and jewelry and such in this room, so it was packed pretty tight. Honestly, the whole venue was packed. This place rocks, straight up. I can’t wait to see what bands they bring, but as long as the music is decent, I’ll be there.
