Woooowwwwww… I show up at the counter and ask If they fill growlers… I get told yes but only our own…, I say we’ll that’s kinda snobby… the guy says… but… our growlers are only $ 5.50 and we fill them for $ 11. i say that’s not bad let me have a flight… my husband and I taste… the beer are decent… so I go up to get a growler… I choose boozehound… then I get told it’s double the cost … I’m like holy poo… so your telling me it’s $ 22… he says well it’s $ 27 because of the growler.. they offered another beer said it was similar and to my taste it wasn’t so I said, go ahead give me the boozehound… the guy comes back and puts this PITIFULSORRYEXCUSEOF A GROWLER in front of me…32 oz THAT’S 2PINTS. that cost me $ 27? WHAT… now i had already said i was paying cash but he was so fast to put that peanut growler on the counter before i could recouperate from my shock, he already had his back to me running my card, after i had specifically said not to because i had previously stated i was paying cash… never… WOWNEVER, EVER, EVER will I EVER, go there again… horrible misinformation, baiting, you name it… we are anti sycamore… we will stick to every other brewery that has no problem filling other growlers. THATAREFULLSIZE, and not midget size… and are reasonably priced, as well as taste better… only thing your paying for is the environment… you can keep it… only reason why it got 1 star was because I couldn’t minus stars

Came here to watch the Panthers game, not expecting much. After spending a few hours here on a Sunday, we were so delighted with our experience at Sycamore Brewing. Sycamore offers a beautiful indoor tap room, along with a huge outdoor seating area, lawn and game area. They also allow you to bring your dogs inside which for us is a total treat. Customers seem to be very conscious of their dogs behavior so it doesn’t become a a nuisance. You can order flights of beer(4 different samples) for under $ 10 if you aren’t sure what you are looking for. I really enjoyed the bear mountain and their extra stout, but my favorite was their cider. I highly recommend the cider and am hoping to find it bottled somewhere to purchase. Sycamore is a great place to spend the day with some friends & your pooch!

I am a bit conflicted about this place. Hands down they are an amazing establishment. It is in the perfect location for a run club(what I partake in) and it is so close to the light rail. They have amazing craft beers and between the main store and the food truck — great eating options. Between the indoors where you have a tap room feel and the outdoors area with large group seating areas(I honestly weirdly felt that I was in Colorado)… it is trendy and fun. HOWEVER… I think this place has gotten so popular… it is getting a bit crowded. Between the parking, jostling for beer, and the line to the bathroom, it is getting a bit rough. I still go because of the amazing vibe of the place…

Probably my favorite brewery in Charlotte in terms of the taproom and outdoor space, and it’s amazing they have only been open for a year. The atmosphere is just tremendous. Sit outside with friends and a pitcher or two and listen to one of the many local bands that pass through. I really enjoy the Peak Farm Double Pale Ale. Lots of people like the Southern Girl Blonde, too. Sycamore does a decent amount of small batch beer, so chances are you’ll find something unique on the chalkboard when you visit. The only reason this doesn’t get five stars is that it can get VERY crowded at peak times and on beautiful days, which means you can wait 10 minutes to get a beer. Sycamore is getting ready to expand, so that won’t be a problem for long. Even still, it’s worth the wait!

i live right next door to Sycamore so I’m a frequent guest. They have live music, food-trucks and an abundance of outdoor seating so it’s perfect for summertime and fall. Also, NC Yoga Bar offers yoga classes(for $ 5) a few times a week so it’s a great meeting spot for the Charlotte Yoga community. They also have a running club that hundreds of people turn out for and it’s a sight to see. However, I’m not a beer drinker and prefer cider or wine. They USUALLY offer both but there have been a few occasions where they don’t and those nights aren’t as enjoyable. It can take FOREVER to get a beer from the bar sometimes depending on the crowds but I guess that just encourages patrons to buy pitchers. Bartenders can be a little rude but I have worked in the restaurant/bar scene before and know how people can be when there is alcohol involved and patience has run thin.

Very cool spot! Bartender was nice & knowledgeable. Beer was tasty! Loved the courtyard. Very comfortable place to hang & have a beer!

I really enjoyed this beer garden. Reminded me a little of Austin, Texas. They had a variety of beers including lagers, blonds, wheat, saison, red ales, session ales. There are some signature items including Sycamore Old Fashioned(bourbon barrel aged) and After Party 3X Pale Ale(also bourbon barrel aged). I opted to get their beer sampler flight option. The place was packed on a Wednesday night when we went with dogs allowed in the outside seating area. Fun atmosphere. ENJOY!

Unfortunately I have to update this review, and it’s not a happy review. We went to sycamore Friday for a few drinks with some friends visiting from Raleigh. We stood at the bar waiting for drinks for 25 min before anyone even took a few seconds to acknowledge us. And this wasn’t due to it being super busy. We watched at least 3 waves of people get served before us. And unfortunately this wasn’t the first time this happened but in the past I gave them the benefit of the doubt since it was so busy but when it happens multiple times, I get a little frustrated. I will go back to sycamore because I do like it so much for everything else it offers but hopefully this won’t happen again :(

I absolutely love the fact that this brewery is owned by a husband and wife power couple! What a great job to have! Plus, they are doing a GREAT job of running it. This place is always packed, which sometimes sucks because you have to wait a while for a beer. However they have a large large variety of beers(8+ on average) that help make up for the wait. They also offer a rotating cider, wine and/or mimosas for the non-beer drinkers. Not a lot of breweries in Charlotte offer that so it’s a huge plus Sycamore does. My favorite thing about this brewery is the patio. It’ HUGE!!! And it’s a great hang out place for a group of friends. They also have fire pits running at night, which is nice for those chilly Fall nights in Charlotte.

I stopped by for Wednesday night $ 5 yoga and immediately was jealous of everyone that lives in Southend currently. This spot is location, location, location. Right on the rail trail and light rail. There is parking but if you can walk or bike that would be cool too, and Sycamore is so accessible. if you are scared of dogs this isn’t the place for you. I counted at least 20. I loved the fire pits that they lit as soon as the sun wentdown. They had some nice live music too. I’ll admit I didn’t taste a beer on this visit but for a place to kick back and relax with friends, make this a destination on your next brewery tour.

Great selection of their own drafts, but the wait here is always insane. They definitely need to add extra staff on the weekends, because its a miracle to get a drink in under ten minutes. I like that they’ll do special pairings with local places to come up with some unique drinks/cocktails also. They have one of the best outdoor areas of any brewery in Charlotte, and is usually packed with people & dogs. I’d avoid their Gourd Ale … it’s not that great of a Pumpkin Ale IMO. Their small batch IPA is delicious, as are most of their other brews.

I’m really in love with Sycamore’s space. Sycamore is easily accessible — located right off the Light Rail trail and they have a large parking lot(rare in the area). The beer can often leave a lot to be desired. I just haven’t found anything that I’m in love with. I’ll definitely be back to hang out in the large, open space or to listen to live music on their awesome patio.

If you’re looking for a fantastic beer experience in a fantastic setting, don’t miss Sycamore Brewing! We happened in for a visit before a Panthers game since Sycamore Brewing is probably the closest brewery to BOA Stadium. But in addition to its convenient location, it’s just a wonderful spot to quaff a brew for many reasons… First, you’ve got a nice bier garden outside with some umbrellas for cover. Inside, Sycamore has the usual beer bar feel but also a large side area with indoor seating that’s more like a restaurant, very nice. Décor is definitely something that Sycamore has worked extensively on, it’s a polished feel and not your usual utilitarian warehouse feel you get at many breweries. It’s a place where you can sit back, relax with some conversation and enjoy the beer. Which is REALLY important since the beer here at Sycamore is quite good! A lot of different beer styles with a twist, I tried out an apricot wheat and a vanilla session ale, both were very nicely brewed. So go go go, Sycamore Brewing! I’d love to have a similar brewery back home but until then, I’ll just have to wait for my next visit to the CLT for your great beer and ambiance…

Well, came to update my review for Sycamore and realized I have never written one in the first place! Woops! Anyways, I have been out here many times since they first opened and have started to really love Sycamore. When they first opened, they were so busy that I didnt really enjoy going here. Now, things have mellowed out a bit(still a busy and popular spot but everything flows better!) and this has become one of my favorite spots Most recently, we came out here on a Tuesday to grab a drink and relax for a bit. It was fairly busy for mid week but we were able to grab a drinks fairly quickly. We both got the Harvest seasonal. Very tasty and made me crave Fall! Lots of seating outside. Dog friendly. Usually a food truck. On this particular Tuesday, they had a live band out. I appreciate the fact that they had live music on one of their non-busy days of the week! Sycamore does a lot of small batch brewing, so their beers change quite frequently. So far, I havent had anything I didnt like! If you are unsure of what to pick, grab a flight and taste a few!

Pleasent & Mellow! The beer is Choice! Service is good — a bit of a wait inside, but speeds along pretty well. They do have indoor seating. However, there is a huge outdoor area for picnic tables, a stage for a live band, corn-hole and a 2nd bar outside! They often have a food truck right next to the outdoor area making it easy to grab a bite with your beer and sit down. Best tip about this place: Don’t wear heels — especially if you want to go outside — the outdoor areas have pebble rocks as the flooring where many of the picnic tables are located. Makes it a bit challenging!

Okay… okay…I’ll admit it… this place has some damn good beer. Let’s get right to it… hands my down my favorite beer was the Apricot Wheat. It’s light, refreshing and has a great overall flavor. Not to mention there’s no strong after taste at the end. It’s like a total party in your mouth. Get it. Thank me later. Other than that this place is easy to find, there’s plenty of parking, a bunch of benches outside and a food truck parked right out front. #winning What more do you need? Get yourself there. But don’t be shy, this place gets packed fast… so cozy up to some new friends and enjoy!

This place has excellent beer(maybe best in CLT area) and a great atmosphere and the millennial crowd has taken notice. Any given night(or weekend day) you’ll find it packed with young adults who definitely should be carded. While thats a slight detractor to this dad-bod Unilocaler who cherishes craft beer, you’ll still find me visiting to share in Sycamore’s fine work. Go visit if you’re into craft beer. You wont regret it!

This was definitely one of my favorite breweries that we visited while in Charlotte. The brewery is HUGE with tons of indoor and outdoor seating. It is also very dog friendly which is awesome(the puppies and Huskies will always have my heart). I am unable to give a full review of the beers since I have not visited throughout the year to try the Seasonal beers but they were all delicious! The Salty Coconut Red Ale was something that I was not expecting to like but it was surprisingly good. I opted for the Island Girl Tropical Pale Ale which was great. My boyfriend got the Vanilla Session which he enjoyed! If you are hungry, do not worry! They have a food truck parked out front. A must visit in Charlotte and I can’t wait to go back!

My new favorite Brewery in Charlotte! Excellent flagship standards like Countryside IPA and Southern Girl Blonde will rock your world! Delicious seasonal and session brews like Strawberry Sunset Wheat and Trigger Happy to keep things interesting! Then, the best part: the fun and wild experimentals! Salty Coconut Red Ale gave me an out of body experience! It transformed me into a Girl Scout eating Samoans! That’s a tough act to follow! The whole brewery, brick by brick, stone by stone, tap by tap and vat by vat are beautiful! Great tap room! What an outdoor space! Live music and awesome food trucks like Roots! Please adopt me!

While they’re relatively new to the Charlotte beer scene, Sycamore brewing is serving up some tasty brews in the south end. They are set up like your basic brewery with regular food trucks to provide food while they cover the beverages. It’s clever how the food trucks and breweries work together to provide food and drink around the Charlotte area. We had already eaten, so we were here for hydration or beer-ation I guess. I was surprised to see that they had like 15 different beers on tap to include some barreled aged beers. The wife really likes non beery beers as she calls them and they had one that was coconut flavored and a peanut butter flavored one. She enjoyed both, more so the coconut one. I also found that they were both great, despite not really being a fan of flavored beers like that. Both were smooth and not overpowering which can be the case with flavored beers. I sampled some others that were good as well, but the bourbon barreled stout was easily the best. Significant bourbon was noticeable which is always a great thing in my book. Service is a little chaotic, as they were busy, but all staff were efficient. There was live music and plenty of dogs and dog lovers. The wife did say that the bathrooms were tiny, which is something that they may need to work on expanding in the future. Nonetheless, Sycamore brewing is a nice place to chill and have a beer.
