I decided not to review right away because I wanted to give the new shoes and socks a few trial runs before. I came into RFYL at the end of May/early June and bought a pair of running shoes. Since I had never been here before, they had me fitted. They watched how I run/walk and asked about how often/far I ran. The girl who helped us was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I ultimately decided to stick with my usual shoe, but in the more recent release. I was suggested to purchase in a larger size than normal to account for swelling(especially during the summer). Admittedly I was hesitant which is why I delayed my review. However, I could not be happier with my decision to follow her suggestion! Also, the Feetures socks are a godsend for new shoes(and long runs)!! No more socks sliding off my feet in the middle of a run or seams rubbing against my toes! There was even a sale going on for them(buy 3 pairs get 1 free). I was so happy with my socks that I bought 4 pairs for my father, who is also an avid runner and he loves them too! Finally, this store is definitely about runners! They even have a board with upcoming races and running groups. Not only that, but they run really great specials each month. Plus after you spend $ 250, they offer you in store credit on anything! Will definitely continue going here and sending my friends!

Very surprised this location hasn’t been reviewed since it has been open for a while. It is a lot smaller than RFYL’s flagship/homebase store in Dilworth, but it still is a functioning running store for all things running and active for the Ballantyne community. It’s located right next to Trader Joe’s so the parking lot can be a pain to navigate around especially with everyone rushing in to get their groceries, but once you park and come into the store, you are warmly greeted. I just stopped by here to get some energy gels and nutrition for the next days’ long run, but they have a great selection of gels, gummys, and whatever else you need snack-wise on a long run. Since the store is located in a strip mall it is rather long and narrow, but most of the shoe stock is in the back and the shoe wall is located on the left with plenty of folks to help you find, fit, and purchase the right shoe for your needs. I am a fan of the chalkboard section of the wall behind the register that lists any running clinics, events, and various statements of encouragement for any and all people coming into the store.
