Went here on our honeymoon amazing place to camp with amazing views of lake champlain and the Adirondack Mountains!!! Camp ground is very small only like 6 sites with 4 lean-​to sites. Bathrooms are amazingly clean as well as showers. Only $ 20/​night for out of state residents. Nice and quite!!!

The view from the top is iconic. Mt. Philo is such a nice way to spend a day. The hike up is easy enough, though parts get a little steep so your heart rate will rise if you are not used to activity. The top is a nice place to relax. I don’t like that they charge at the bottom for people hiking up but it probably helps to keep the crowd a little thinned. Note: it’s a great place to sled in the winter but some of those turns are touchy.

This is a fantastic, accessible place for a picnic, quick hike or run. The Adirondack views from the top are beautiful at several vantage points.

I really enjoy hiking up Mt. Philo. The views are great and really its a short hike so it makes for a great picnic area as well.
Mt. Philo is self is a pretty easy hike. So its great if you have kids and you want a nice family outing. You can park at the bottom and then hike your way up or you have the option to just drive to the top. But whats the fun in driving to the top? I say hike it!
The staff here always seem friendly. However I have only dealt with them on the bottom.
The views on the top of the mountain are great. They even offer a wide amount of space for everyone. So picnicking or just relaxing on the top should be easy.
Over all if your a beginner hike (Much like my self!) Mt. Philo makes a great first hike. You can be at the top in 45 minutes or less if you try!

Campsites are VERY close together. It’s a nice park, the rangers are very nice and friendly. Showers cost $$ but they are cheap. If you want a view and privacy, this is not the campsite for you.
