Cute little place to browse for used books. I didn’t have the chance to get any coffee or food, but the book selection was pretty decent. I’ll definitely be returning.

There’s just something special about Julia’s. It is a wonderful place to search for books, get a cup of coffee or bite to eat, or simply setup shop to do work. I’ve been venturing this way since I moved to Charlotte. There are lots of used bookstores in an around the area, and there is Julia’s. Unlike the rest, Julia’s is part of the Habitat for Humanity program, so profits directly benefit their mission. Also, unlike the others, they have a team of volunteers checking and rechecking the books to make sure they are in the right place. Very well organized. Since I’m a book fanatic, I love to visit here one or two times a month. Their inventory is always changing so you won’t see the same thing visit after visit. I like that. I also like that every volunteer you ask a question of knows what’s going on. Most places I visit have a hard time telling me where the fiction and nonfiction sections are. These folks care about what they are doing. I’m not a huge coffee fan, but I like the roasts they have available here. I also like the various sandwiches, yogurts, etc. It’s just such an inviting atmosphere. Can’t praise it enough. Thanks for the home away from home.

So glad I found this place. Thanks to donations, I know I’ve donated, there is a continuous rotation of stock. Obviously it’s run on donations primarily so they won’t carry a lot of new, but I’ve been able to find a lot of great books, including kid titles.

Julia’s Is an awesome café and so convenient to my house. The atmosphere is quiet and welcoming. Drinks are a reasonable price and why not contribute to a great cause. I wish they were open a little later since Starbucks is everyone’s first choice which has made it a bit noisy and if you’re looking to read, study, and enjoy peace and quiet this is your place!!!

I seriously do not understand why you had go anyplace else. Julia’s java is excellent, there are enough wonderful comfy spots to sit, particularly upstairs in the«nest.» Plus, all of the cash goes to support Habitat for Humanity, among the trendiest charities approximately. There’s a lot of parking and although it does not look like much from the exterior, it is a wonderful spot on the interior!

Great little spot. I am not a huge fan of corporate coffee joints. This place has excellent coffee along with a quaint atmosphere.

Coffee and books galore?!! Yes please! This is the perfect place to enjoy a nice cup of locally brewed coffee and study or just enjoy some quiet time. They have a wide range of books with nice little nooks to enjoy them in. They also have an upstairs area where there are more tables and couches. They are connected to the Habitat for Humanity store so you can walk next store to explore household goods at very reasonable prices as well! I ordered a Carmel Latte with soy that was delicious! Julia’s is definitely a hidden gem that I will continue to visit!

Awesome joint. Nova’s bakery goods, breakfast sandwiches, and fettuccine stir sticks. That’s a great way to save plastic and trees! Ingenious ingenuity! It’s also a book store which is great for those that can read!

Cute little café with room for sitting upstairs and downstairs. Café connects to habit for humanity’s used bookstore as well as the larger used furniture store. Coffee was good, got a discount for answering a trivia question, people were extremely nice and best part… all proceeds go to Habit for Humanity.

Julia’s is a hidden gem. They use local coffee and the mission behind the brew is second to none! Habitat for humanity of Charlotte opened this shop in hopes to raise money to fund affordable housing to families here in Charlotte. So it’s a win win!!! You get your coffee and habitat gets closer to providing affordable housing here in the Queens City! You HAVE to visit the shop. The décor is all repurposed and creative projects done by the same women who designed Amelie’s so you know it’s got good vibes. There is an entire upstairs loft if you’re the type to tuck yourself away and crank out some work. I suggest the Americano :)

What a cute little coffee shop! I was in the area and because I like to try local coffee shops I used my trusty Unilocal app to see what was nearby. This place popped up first. The reviews were great so I headed on over. This place, as others have stated, is attached to a Habitat for Humanity store. Upon entering it has a warm, funky vibe. The many bookshelves are immediately noticeable. The customer service was prompt and friendly. I noticed a mix of people in there — a police officer, an elderly lady, 2 gentleman sharing a table chatting, some young«Yuppie» type individuals. I ordered the white mocha and it was delicious. There is plenty of seating and parking. I didn’t have a chance to peruse the bookcases but if I’m in the area again I’d definitely stop in.

Perfect place to read a book, have access to wifi, and grab coffee. They also offer food/pastries from nearby caterers. I love this place! It’s through Habitat for Humanity, so you’re making a difference by buying here.

I love this place! Seating is ample, and it’s a great working environment, though a little sparse on outlets, os make sure you are charged. I sampled an iced americano, a green tea, and a mango smoothie; all were of good quality and were to my liking. I adore combined coffee/bookshops, and this one did not disappoint. The books are well organized and with a nice little selection. The baristas were kind, great to talk to, and happy to recommend some books or some drinks. They even asked everyone in the shop to try a new flavor they were working on, which was great. The location seems a bit weird, but it’s easy to get to, and who doesn’t like helping out with a great cause? Definitely would visit again.

Love this place! A great place to study if you like background noise like me. Also a great place to get lost in a good book. The coffee is amazing, the staff is wonderful, plus it’s all for a good cause.

My husband and I visited for the first time on Saturday. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the bookstore as well as the wide selection of books. The books are organised and neat on the shelves. I ordered a latte and it was delicious. Habitat for Humanity is connected to the coffee shop. It was nice to walk around to look at things, however we expected the prices to be a bit lower. We arrived later in the day so we didn’t have much time before closing. We look forward to going back when we have more time.

If you’re looking to fall in love with a coffee shop dedicated to having only the best drinks and ingredients, staff that goes above and beyond, and with devotion to a good cause in your community then Julia’s Café and Books is the place for you. I make the drive across town to study here during the week and make the trip if I don’t feel up to settling for a mediocre latte that day. My bookcase is filled with their gently used books typically costing an arm and a leg at a local bookstore. What’s not to like about great drinks, great books, and great service?

I really do love this place. I have filled my bookshelf with a lot of books from here. When I first started buying books to add to my shelf, this was the first place I came. Every time I go in there I want to bring out bag loads of books! And many times, I have! It’s hard for me to be around books at all without getting anxious because I want to buy books… Especially in Julia’s Coffee because the prices are so «cheap».I got the Lord of the Rings box set(3 hard cover books) for $ 12.00! All in GREAT condition! And many other wonderful books there that were a great price and most were in great condition! Many, looked brand new. Each time I’ve gone there the people have been nice and helpful. We’ve only tried the coffees a few times and they were pretty good. Because we are so used to making them at home or going to McDonald’s to get them, it took some getting used to for us personally(myself and my 2 sons) but they aren’t bad at all, just a little stronger than we are used to and this is not a negative thing on their part… Maybe it was just, like I said, I am not used to the type of coffee they use and/or the strength of it. The few treats we have bought we enjoyed. I guess one day, that’s what we need to do, just go in and buy treats and coffee… while also shopping for books!

The iced vanilla late was so, so good. And bonus points for proceeds going to Habitat! Hideaway seating is offered in the maze of books downstairs, which is great for when you have a good read and want to be left unbothered.

Love it! It’s a great meeting place, and I love to have coffee or a sandwich and then browse the books as well as the goods at the ReStore. I so wish they still used counter culture, and sometimes it seems like the baristas/cashiers don’t really know what’s going on, but they are probably new volunteers. It’s overall a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend it.

The first thing that brought me here was the promise of coffee. I was very happy with my decision to stop at this adorable shop. They offer almond milk, score! Also they use magnolia coffee, a local roaster. The latte was one of the best I’ve had in a while. Also the baristas are very knowledgable. But then I found out they sell books! These are a few of my favorite things(take that marry poppins!). If you’re an avid reader, or know someone who is, this is the place to shop!

Oddly enough, I usually only get tea here, but I’ve sampled some coffees and I’m a fan, I just prefer to see down with a tea(off their fairly extensive list that isn’t posted, and all their tea is in a drawer hidden from view, but if you can give them a starting point they can narrow it down for you). There are multiple tables and chairs, booths, and pillows to help you get situated into work mode or just to chat with friends. Their shelves of books offer plenty of interesting reads at very affordable prices. Their snacks and food options usually hit the spot. The wi-if is free, you just have to do a quick sign-up, and the staff behind the counter us is always super friendly. I’d frequent here before we had the internet connected in our new place, now I just come back to enjoy the ambience and get some work done without dealing with some of the more crowded coffee shops. And who doesn’t like to peek in at the restore?

This is right across from the Home Depot on Wendover, so as I’ve been spending a lot of time at HD lately, I’m glad to have found coffee right across the street. There wasn’t any greeting as I came up to the counter because the two girls there were talking to each other. I wasn’t in a hurry so I did stand there for a little bit until they finished talking and then one of them greeted me and said she’d be with me in a minute. This is such a nice little space attached to the Habitat for Humanity RE-Store and I enjoyed the mocha I got there. I shopped around in RE-Store, but I will definitely leave myself more time and check out this charming bookstore next time I go.

I’ve always loved coming to this little shop. Not my first though as a coffee shop since it’s not in my direct line of travel, but it’s always a treat when I can make it in. They pour Counter Culture Coffee here and make a great lineup of affordable beverages. You’ll be hard pressed to to not find something you like here. Also, they have some killer lunch options for those who work through their lunch break… like me. The book store portion of the shop is just incredible. You can smell the old books upon entering. They recently extended the book section to make it larger, which is a huge plus. They constantly hold book sales here, and you can always find something of worth or of note. My favorite part: The upstairs lounge. SUCH a great spot to work from, have a meeting, eat lunch, or just hangout. Great overlook of the book section and tends to be a little quieter. Love Julia’s. Always a treat when I can make it over to this shop.

I am beating myself up for driving the extra 2 miles to Starbucks and passing Julia’s by all these years. I guess the giant parking lot for Habitat Re-store was a little intimidating to me. There were a few things that I really enjoyed about Julia’s the staff was extremely friendly, my latte was strong just the way I like it, and they use pasta noodles as stirrers how clever! I would say the prices are similar to Starbucks but who doesn’t want to support a local business I will come to Julia’s a lot more often now. I look forward to my next visit and browsing all those used books.

Julia’s has been on my radar for the longest time. I finally got to visit it and see the greatness that I had been missing out on. My only gripe was that I did not allow myself a lot of time to sit and«browse». Basically went to meet a friend, have a coffee, and catch up. I did end up arriving 20min early and started perusing the used books after my hot mocha showed up on the counter. The first thing I noticed when arriving is how people can easily miss this place if you aren’t looking for it. My guess is that this place doesn’t really survive due to it’s location, but it’s people and it’s cozy, hip, environment. My friend let me know that they have expanded, so I don’t really have any previous experience with the original size of the place, but the size now is great! We met up and talked up in the loft area. I definitely liked going upstairs, viewing the artwork lining the walls and sitting up in the loft which gives you a great«nest» experience. Overall, Julia’s is a great place to get some work done, people watching, and just hanging out. I didn’t give myself enough time to walk through the Habitat store, but looks like you can find a bunch of great treasures to put a little love and elbow grease on to make it something that much better.

I am all about drinking for a cause(Whether it be hooch of coffee) Add a fabulous book selection to the mix and one word: SOLD! Not sure what I can say about Julia’s that hasn’t been said but I love that they offer huge iced coffee options whereas alot of local establishments have 16 oz. as their biggest option. This girl doesn’t roll with that, I need a 24 oz iced coffee to make me happy. Peruse the titles, get caffeinated and enjoy the atmosphere. This place has a true coffee house feel to it and my only complaint is that I wish they were open 24 hours. Bonus: There is a Home Depot or Lowe’s across the street so if you need a contractor, you can pick one up, they are tons just waiting to work! Two birds, one stone.

So I see Julia(not the person this place is named after, but rather the Unilocaler) check in here all the time. I saw there was an art opening for an oil painter last week, so I decided to kill to birds with one stone… see the place Julie always goes to and check out some art. It is a cute little place with food, coffee, and art. Folks are really nice and they even have a little upstairs seating area. Books are there and for sale and very well organized. All of this of course benefits Habitat for Humanity… a very worthy cause. The coffee was good as was the art and some place you should patronize and give the big corporate coffee stores a break.

Can you create affordable housing by buying books, drink some awesome espresso, and browse the web under the same roof? Yep, you can do all three at Julia’s Coffee. This charming place is attached to the Habitat for Humanity store(a nice place to ‘dig’ for deals, if you know what I mean) on Wendover Road. The coffeehouse is perhaps one of the coolest interiors; very vintage with a loft and many books. The staff are super friendly and they have a daily trivia question that, if answered correctly, gives you .10 off your purchase! Woo hoo! I like the espresso drinks and the iced coffee. They use medium roast espresso, as well as daily coffee specials. Teas, muffins, bagels, and sandwiches are available, but I’ve never tried them. The books are the selling point for me. Hardbacks(solid titles, not fluffy romances) are 4 for $ 12, plus you have the confidence that you’re supporting the Habitat cause. Paperbacks go for $ 1. Imagine buying a paperback and a latte for less than $ 5! Certainly not at at Barnes and Noble! Did I mention that they have FREE live music on the weekends? They have recently opened their doors till 9PM on Fridays and Saturdays to accommodate more live music. Come and check it out!
