I’d never even heard of a 24 Hour psychiatric emergency room. It sounds a bit dramatic, and it can be… but it’s not just for folks who are freaking out in the middle of the night. I don’t have health insurance, and I found my way to the Billingsley clinic to get some help with depression. They have a sliding scale fee, and they have hook-​ups with all the best ways to get prescription medications at a discount.
I’ve referred friends there several times. It’s kind of a secret, like much of the services that are available to folks who are struggling… but if you don’t mind waiting for a few hours, you can see someone for whatever is ailing your mind. It’s a great resource.
