Rick Reinert offers vibrant, light filled paintings in a way that challenges the eye. He is harmonizing abstraction and Impressionism in a brilliant way. On my list of favorite galleries are those where the artist who creates the work is in residence. I really enjoy interacting directly with the artist. Rick Reinert and Kevin LePrince use this gallery both to display their marvelous work and as a working studio for them both. We stopped by last week on a visit to Charleston and met both Rick and his wife Ann, who is in the process of opening a gallery upstairs. To be called the Yellow Door Gallery, Ann will be curating a diverse collection of work: glass, sculpture, pottery, and other upscale works.
Rick says this about his work: «Nature and sunlight have provided me with the ultimate reference library. I believe that it is possible to study painting for a lifetime and never have to venture more that one square mile for constant challenges and a wealth of subject matter. Every day offers unique and exciting opportunities for the artist who follows the light.»
