Writing this from my broken down car… They took 40 mins to make an order for three cars. They said it took 7 mins to make chicken fingers, that’s why it took 40+mins. My battery died near the end this became a 2 hour trip. If they’d be like yeah we were dickin around, sorry, I wouldn’t hate it so much, but they stood their ground that this was par for the course, nothing unusual about 45 mins for 3 cars. AAA though, I give them 5 stars. They were pretty great. This McDonalds always sucks after 10pm, just go to the waffle house or anywhere else if you can help it.

Sigh. I know I’m a self-proclaimed foodie and all, but I can’t help but love McDonald’s. As bad as it is for you, it still TASTES good. :) In any case, this review is just for the drive-thru experience(and then the subsequent walk-in experience) and the iced coffee. If you can call it that. Now normally, I love McDonald’s iced coffee. Never really had one that sucked or was so awful I had to throw it away. In fact, they’ve been pretty much the same everywhere I’ve gone, no matter what city i’ve been in. After getting the iced coffee from the drive-thru, something was off. Was it just the bright sun or was my coffee… white? As in, all cream and no coffee? I could have been wrong — after all, this is pre-coffee so I figured I’d let my tastebuds be the final judge. I took one sip and knew my eyes hadn’t deceived me. Indeed, I couldn’t even detect a hint that there was any coffee in the cup. So we parked, and walked into the restaurant, hoping for a re-do. We waited for one of the at least 8 employees milling around to take notice of my friend and me as well as the lady who walked in a millisecond after us. But it took about 5 minutes for anyone to even ask to take our order. The employee was very gracious about redoing our iced coffee, and we thought that would be it. We’d be on our merry caffeinated way. Sigh. Even though we had expressed the fact that our main complaint was that there was no coffee flavor, she pretty much remade the exact same iced«coffee.» One more test sip and we just gave up — we dumped those iced coffees on our way out, heads hung low and caffeine receptors unstimulated. Mayhaps this was their version of a sweet tea in coffee form, just a dash of coffee and a whopping cup full of cream? Sorry McD’s on Spring Street, we won’t be back.
