This place is atrocious. This is Captian D’s rebranded. I ordered the fried shrimp dinner, and I got 6 shrimp with an ice-cream scoop of plain white rice. Really? Who eats plain white rice with shrimp? Jasmine rice is in between basmati and regular, but regardless, it’s still plain white rice. Also, the shrimp was nothing to brag about. Popcorn shrimp in the freezer section of Walmart tastes better. The kids got hamburgers, and they obviously factory frozen patties. Charleston is a bastion of culinary delights. Do not waste your time or money in this place.

Is there anybody out there that thought Bubba Gump actually existed before Forrest Gump? I mean, Forrest buys Apple shares and drinks Dr. Pepper, so I thought all the brands and names in the movie were just used in a more creative way to make it fun. Hey, whether it happened or not, we got like 13 out of 15 Forrest Gump fact quiz! The prize? Nothing… But it was fun. The place really is a shrine for Forrest Gump fans. So everyone! Aren’t we all? The walls have everything about the Gump man, from the places he’s been, his Alabama jersey, and even an old Japanese version of the movie poster. It reads more like Hooresto Gampu but whatever. Anyway, let’s get down to business. The food! Yes, it was deeeeelicious. I mean these large franchises are usually not up to par with local historic cuisines, but this was good. I had me a rib-shrimp combo, and my Jenny(aka Maya) had her a Po-boy. Both were good, although we agreed that my combo was betta. Can’t go wrong with bbq ribs and shrimp in the South. One thing I must add was the service. Faaaantastic. Everybody was as courteous and informative as they get. Real nice folks down there. I recommend it for sure. Now, just remember, Forrest went to Alabama not Auburn!

Awesome server who did a good job guiding us for things to eat. Shrimp and grits were awesome, my daughter loved the kid’s popcorn shrimp meal and the plastic glass her slushie came in. Only down-side was the rather bland coconut shrimp.

Service was ok at best. Food was what you would expect from a big chain. We were pressed for time with children, so went for it. Should’ve waited. Won’t go back again.

We had the absolute best experience ever here! Our server Blake was very knowledgeable and professional! We loved the fact that he sat at our table with us and made us feel at home. Everything was perfect! My boyfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary, and I’m so glad we chose this restaurant! Thank y’all! Dinner was so delicious! Everything was perfect!

Really, really disappointed. We went on a Sunday afternoon when it was quiet. Despite there being hardly any customers but plenty of staff, it took a long, long time to get served and even longer to get our food. The drinks menu is a mystery. There’s loads on it but not a single price in sight. We ordered shrimp(of course) and were very disappointed with how bland it all was — seriously, Captain D’s do better shrimp. Given the character that the restaurant is based on, it was surprising how few shrimp dishes there were to choose from. Lastly, the portion sizes left a lot to be desired. Overall, I am really sorry we went. It was a lot of money for not a lot of bland food. Definitely wouldn’t recommend it and will not be returning.

Pro: A theme restaurant that doesn’t suck?!? Say it ain’t so! Bubba Gump turns out a pretty good plate of food! The«Run Across America» sampler is a good way to start a meal when you have no idea what you truly are in the mood for. And that’s usually me! On to the«She Crab Bisque», a local Charleston favorite… WOW! This is about is excited as a person can get over a bowl of soup! And while I am not usually one to rave about grits(because they usually taste to me like the love child of corn and sand), the Shrimp & Grits are phenomenal! Con: Yeah, it’s a theme restaurant based on a movie. Forgive the over-the-top ambiance. It’s what adds to the allure. Bottom Line: I heart shrimp, ergo, I heart BGSC.

Dang! I really wanted to like this place! I live in Charleston and hadn’t gone here because it’s a touristy place to eat, but while friends were visiting, we gave in and had a meal. The good first: This is a novelty. If you love the movie, you’ll love to look at all the fun things in the place and the gift shop is cute. Also, the food is decent and there weren’t any complaints there. The bad: Although our server was good and attentive, it seemed like the entire staff was well aware that the place smelled like weed. While we were waiting, a server walked out the door and the smell of weed was overwhelming. It was so shocking that it literally almost knocked me over. I made a comment about it within earshot of our server and he seemed uncomfortable like he didn’t know what to say. Furthermore, we were seated in a location where it seemed the smell was the strongest, like the staff members were right on the other side of the wall smoking weed or something. This is where they sat everyone except the couple who walked in right in front of us with children.

The service is good and the food portions are large. The fried chicken is great but I could only eat half of my meal. Come hungry.

My boyfriend and I walked into bubba gumps on Friday night, it was fairly busy but there were open tables and no wait. However, I received the worst service imaginable. When we were seated it took 10 – 15 minutes for our waitress to come over and even greet us. In fact, it was so long of a wait for service the table next to us told their waitress we needed to be helped. After awhile she came over and said«did you guys need something because everyone keeps telling me you guys are complaining» which was not the case(however everyone else around us was noticing and commenting on the lack of service) but it set the tone for the rest of the meal. She took my drink and food order all at once(i had waited so long I was ready to order), my boyfriend order a piña colada– she didn’t bring it out or check to see if we had it. Another waitress brought out our food. She did not come back once other than to give me the check. Absolutely the worst service I have ever had and will prevent me from returning. The food was okay– I had the mahi mahi and it was super bland and the shrimp was terrible I didn’t even eat it. My boyfriend had the coconut shrimp and he enjoyed it. Although his food was decent the horrible service outweighs everything. Spend your money elsewhere. The only reason I gave it one star was because I cannot give it negative stars.

Shrimp prepared every which way along with many other items on the menu. The theme is obviously from Forest Gump, which is an American Classic in itself. Great service, so enjoy the moment and the food!

Passed thru Charleston going back to our vacation spot in NC. First time we had ever been to the restaurant and quite possibly the last. We were sat at a table, waited for 15 minutes for the server to even come over. She got our drink order than took her 10 more minutes to come back for our order. During the course of our server Emily taking our order, she asked my fiancé to repeat his order 3 times. She went to put it in, and then came back to ask his order again. She was gone about 10 minutes and then came back again to ask us both what we got! We even watched her write it down the first time she took our order! Once we got our food, she never came back to check on us! We asked another server to fill our drinks! She was playing on her phone, and doing her cut work. Once she saw the other server getting us our drinks, she walked by asking if we were okay and didn’t even stop to ask! My food was also cooked with my fiancé food bc I had some of his on my sandwich! The only good thing I can say was the sweet tea was the bomb and she did bring us the bag that we left sitting at the table!

On a very hot and humid day in Charleston a wonderful woman, Destiny, treated us with extra water and more to take after lunch, best smile ever and was helpful with suggestions for us California tourists. Oh, we love shrimp too… we typically stay away from chains, but Destiny made it very worth it for us.

This one is like any Bubba Gumps so if you’ve been to one… I went against my better judgment and got the Shrimpers Heaven over the I’m Stuffed Shrimp the hubby got. Mine came out cold whilst his was piping hot and delicious. Obviously a timing thing in the kitchen and I didn’t feel like sending it back. The server, Nathan, was good and threw some good trivia our way.

My wife and I went there while we were visiting Charleston. She kept saying she wants to come to this place for a long time. First, the server is alright… She is new, didn’t know the menu very well. They had those car tag thing to let them know when we need help… Useless! She never check it anyway. We ordered the shrimper’s net catch and steamed shellfish. The steamed shellfish is pretty good, I mean… If u have fresh seafood, those can’t really go wrong. The shrimps have two flavors, Cajun spices and garlic butter which the garlic one is way better. Technically 3 stars… However the server said to me that my wife is very pretty while she was in the restroom(which is very true!!) so 4 stars!

Expectations were high… And not met. Our party of 8 waited 40 minutes for our food, and one plate was 5 – 10 minutes later than the others, and another was lukewarm. We asked for it to be heated up, and it still wasn’t hot. Other notes: AC was blowing on us; kids were so cold, we moved a table over. The place was not busy at all. Drinks were good. Service was as good as it could be given the poor kitchen timing. Probably won’t be back, because now this is a family joke of a terrible experience.

The food was good, we tried: shrimp New Orleans, Bourbon Mahi Mahi and Calamari. All were well cooked except the calamari was bit bland. Overall the experience was good!

This was my first experience here. The waiter D. Sean was Awesome! Be sure to ask for him. The food was Awesome! We had a combination plate that features the Best Mahi Mahi We’ve Ever Eaten. We also had a drink called«Two minute warning.,» and it’s Awesome! We were shocked at the bill. It was about $ 70 for an appetizer, one entrée, and the alcoholic beverage. So, watch those prices Otherwise Enjoy!

Bedienung jung, freundlich, ohne besonders aufzufallen. WiFi frei, das Passwort muss man erfragen.
