Purchased a new Trane three years ago, have had issues with it 4 times, but what bothers me most, is when it breaks down AC Heating and Air Conditioning cannot have someone get to me the same day, even though their website touts 24 hour service. I just called, and apparently they have one guy on, he told me he had 15 calls and could get to me first thing in the morning. In August, in Charleston, SC, the land of heat and humidity, I would think having more than one person on call would be prudent.

I own a home in North Charleston, but being a military family, we haven’t lived in Charleston for a few years. We’ve had to rent out the home, and in the last 5 years, have run into some issues with the heating and A/C unit in the relatively new home. I tried another company(which I found and have since reviewed on Angie’s list) that was horrible, unprofessional and ultimately didn’t fix the problem after 4 visits and over $ 1500.00. This is when I called AC Heating and Air for the first time — last year. From what I remember from last year, AC Heating and Air had the issue fixed within 24 hours of my call, for a VERY reasonable price. I was so happy, I saved their number in my phone. Fast forward to this weekend. I get a call from the tenants explaining that the A/C unit wasn’t working again. I called AC Heating and Air on Saturday morning and the gal who answered the phone was super professional, took my information and told me the on-call tech would call me back. Adam, the on-call tech, called me back within 10 minutes and told me that he was on James Island all day and would be happy to call me when he was on his way to N. Charleston, also letting me know that it might be the next morning. I was okay with that. He called the next morning to let me know he was on his way. I coordinated with the tenant(I live in Washington State, so the time difference made this fun) and let Adam know she was home and ready to meet him. Not a half hour later, I get a call from Adam. His first words were«Good news! There’s nothing wrong with your A/C unit!» and then went on to explain that it was a super fancy filter that was restricting flow… Bottom line, as I was across the country and at the mercy of this company once again, instead of taking advantage of the situation, AC Heating and Air was honest and professional. He could have easily told me the problem was much larger and charged me much more — but instead, he changed the filter, and was on his way. I would recommend this company to ANYONE in the Charleston area — for prompt, professional and honest service! Thank you, once again, AC Heating and Air!
